    Tom Yum

Not super impressed with this place but not entirely bad either. My family an I are locals from the Bay area so we have very high expectations of thai food. Here is a detailed review: Tom yum soup(veggie): Very nice assortment of veggies and we appreciated it was filled to the brim. We thought the flavor profile was slightly off. Also we saw tiny items in the broth of the tom yum(classic tom yum shouldn't have tiny things in there, so not sure what those were) Panang curry Probably the best thing we ordered, thought the flavor profile was slightly off again, and the liquid was grainy. Also lacked veggies and the dish was extremely small for it's pricepoint. Drunken Noodles Visually appealing, and good assortment of veggies. For some reason though, this dish tasted like a "farm". That's probably the best way we could describe it. If that taste wasn't there, it would be a solid dish. Overall: All food was way too far on the sweet side. Medium spicy is essentially mild. Also our iced thai coffee did not taste authentic and the coffee didn't feel "rich". Staff was very responsive and quick to bring us whatever we needed. Service was top notch. Food just wasn't on par.

This was some of the best pad thai I've ever had, and I'm from the San Gabriel Valley, which has the biggest Asian population in the US! Such great flavor, huge portion and it had the most meat I've ever gotten. Such a gem of a restaurant on a small side street. The inside is decorated beautifully and the service was very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend them highly.

Our bus driver highly recommended this place. We came for dinner right when they opened. Cute place and loved the ambiance. We were seated right away. I ordered yellow curry chicken. My sister ordered pineapple fried rice and we split crispy egg rolls. The eggrolls came with a sweet-and-sour type sauce. Those were very tasty eggrolls. Also got Thai iced tea. We loved everything. The pineapple fried rice was a huge portion and the freshest and sweetest pineapple I've had. Pineapple was in her rice, but they also put pineapple on the side which I stole a few pieces of. My go to for Thai food is usually yellow curry chicken which didn't disappoint and came with white rice. Nice chunks of chicken and potatoes in a bowl with tasty yellow curry. And of course the Thai iced tea made the meal complete. Thank you Thai House for the yummy meal. I wish you had a restaurant in Kansas City.

Actually i don't know why i have to wait more than 10 minutes after waitress told me she will come soon. And i don't know why u so impatient. But delicious. Huh

June 11, 2025. Fairbanks, Alaska. My husband and I love Thai food so, on a recent trip to Fairbanks, we were pleased to see that the city has a number of Thai restaurants. We decided upon the Thai House Restaurant for dinner. Given that we wouldn't have refrigeration for any leftovers and a warning from some acquaintances in the restaurant about large portion sizes, we decided to order only one entree to share. Our choice was the Pad Thai with chicken ($18.95, June, 2025). The dish featured pan-fried noodles with egg, tofu, dry shrimp powder, bean sprouts, carrots, cabbage, ground peanuts, and scallions. It was served with orange slices. For drinks, I ordered a Thai iced tea ($3.50), while my husband enjoyed a Thai Singha beer ($5.00). (Note that there's a note on the restaurant's website that they're being forced to increase their prices due to increasing prices from their suppliers. July, 2025). We were give the option for spiciness level (mild, medium, or hot); we always order mild as we can always add chilis but it's hard to tone it down if it's too spicy. Our meal was tasty, with fresh and colorful ingredients. We love how Thai food always featured a lot of vegetables. The restaurant was more costly than we usually pay in the lower 48 for similar Thai food, but we recognize that Alaska is expensive. The restaurant was tastefully decorated with traditional Thai artifacts, and most of the tables were occupied but we did not have a wait to be seated. One concern was that the restaurant was quite warm in mid-June, and would've benefitted from some air conditioning. There was free parking on the side of the restaurant but we were able to walk from our hotel. Our server, a man from Thailand, was friendly and efficient in managing a busy restaurant. He humored us when we shared details of our two visits to Bangkok and throughout Thailand.

Down right tasty! Ordered takeout via Chownow app, then walked the few blocks from my hotel. I arrived a few minutes early, but my food was just ready. Got the Panang Curry Chicken with medium spice level (mild, medium or hot). Server even gave me a small Styrofoam container so when I arrived back at the hotel, had a dish to place the rice & then the curry. For me the spice level was perfect, giving it a zing, but not so hot that my nose was running or my tongue on fire. Sauce was tasty ladled over rice sa in picture. Would have liked more vegetables (peppers, pea pods, etc) as only a few peppers in the container. The dish could easily feed 2 people, especially if you're doing egg rolls or something as well

I DREAM ABOUT THIS PLACE. I took a trip to Alaska last year to see the northern lights and this restaurant left its mark on my soul. We heard some ladies talking about how good the Thai fried chicken wings were... so we got the Thai fried chicken wings. They are so delicious, nothing has compared since. I had the Thai noodle soup, very reminiscent of a Vietnamese pho, very good, really warmed me up on those cold days. My friend got the pad Thai, UGH IT WAS DELICIOUS. I've been searching for a pad Thai as good since. We joke about going back to Alaska just for this food.

Walking in it says wait to be seated, but they weren't too busy so they let me sit where I wanted. Service was super great - I have an allergy to peanuts and they confirmed a few times with me "no peanuts" for the dishes I ordered and when they delivered the pad see-ew they also said "no peanuts". The Thai iced tea and pad see-ew were delicious (ordered around a 3 star probably could have done a 4). There were a few locals in the restaurant when I went and a few visitors from the lower 48. Overall the restaurant was very clean, welcoming, and had lovely artwork and decor.

We arrived at 2:15 PM on a Friday afternoon. The ambiance was serene. The decor made us feel like we were in Thailand. We were seated immediately and got our food within 10 minutes. For the food, I asked the server to surprise me and they delighted me with the Drunken Noodles! The food was great and the portion was huge. Overall, I recommend coming here.

The food was ok. We got our food in a timely manner but our waiter kept getting confused by our drinks order. We ordered 2 iced Thai teas and 2 hot Thai teas. But they completely forgot about our hot drinks so we had to ask twice about them. The Tom Yum soup was my least favorite. It was sweet and didn't have enough of the sour taste from the lemongrass. The Pineapple Fried Rice was pretty decent. My favorite was the Coconut Ice Cream with Sticky Rice, sweet and yummy! This was a pretty busy restaurant with a good amount of seating. If you come during dinner rush, you may have to wait a bit. The restaurant was pretty clean.

The staff in the restaurant were nice and we were able to get seated right away during dinner hours. The decor inside was very simple and casual. We ended up ordering chicken satay and egg rolls as appetizers, which both were decent. For entrees, we ordered pineapple fried rice (which you have to ask them to add pineapple to the fried rice item on the menu), beef massaman curry, tom kha gai soup (one with coconut milk), and drunken noodles with chicken. All the entrees were also pretty decent and flavorful, although I did find most of them to be on the saltier side. The meat in the massaman curry did also taste super soft but almost in a canned meat kind of way. We were also served water but everyone in our group felt like the water tasted weird, almost like there was some kind of cleaning supply or chlorine type after taste. We saw that they put lemons but there were no lemon taste in the water. We were all concerned by the taste and ended up not drinking any of the water (despite the food being salty and we really needed some). Overall, not a bad spot outside of the water situation, but not a spot I'd necessarily recommend given the price of dishes and value.

Ordered the Halibut Egg Rolls, Panang Curry with Halibut (which is not a normal menu item), Chu Chee Pla with Salmon, and Pad See Ew with Beef (which I have to order at every Thai restaurant I go to). I must say, this was up there with some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Not everything you see halibut in egg rolls, but I had to get it. the panang curry was up there with some of the best panang curry I've ever had, and it came with a fairly hefty portion of halibut. Chu chee pla was good, although it tasted a bit similar to the panang curry. Pad see ew was very good, and it was quite a huge portion as well. Staff here were very friendly despite being extremely slammed. There were only two people taking care of the entire restaurant and one cook in the back. Despite all that, the food came out at a fairly reasonable pace. Much kudos to them for working so hard. Really enjoyed my trip to Bahn Thai. I guess there really is elite Thai food up in Fairbanks!

We got the halibut egg rolls, which was freshly fried and a bit more refreshing than a regular one because of the halibut. The ginger fish dish comes with either halibut or salmon. We opted for salmon and it was overcooked but the ginger sauce was very good. Once we broke down the salmon to soak up the sauce, it was tastier to eat. There were 4 small pieces. We also appreciated the loads of vegetables that come with this dish - strange how much we appreciate veggies in AK. We wonder if the traditional Thai dishes are the way to go here, but our meal was still good.
