Came in on 5/18/2024 with some friends to grab a drink to kill some time because we had a wedding to go to. Besides a couple of people sitting at the bar we were the only party sitting at a table. Our waitress DOMINIQUE seems to be annoyed anytime we asked for a napkin or straws or if we had questions on drink recommendations. My friend asked if she could do a pepino margarita (which was not on the menu) and waitress said " yeah, that depends, it's a 50/50 if the bar tender will do it, if he's in a good mood then yes but if he's not in a good mood then no, he will not do it..... so we will seeee" as she's rolling her eyes. After we all finished our drinks we decided to pay the bill with one card and Zelle the person who paid. We accidentally forgot to take a photo of the itemized receipt after the tip was added and the receipt was signed so we asked Dominique if we could see the receipt again to take a photo, she did not want to give us back the receipt and she also did not want us taking a photo of the receipt, she said she could just tell us what the total was. Again we told her we wanted the signed receipt because not everyone's drink was the same price and we needed the exact amount since we had to zelle the cardholder. She told us to look at the menu and get the price of each drink that way to figure out the total ! We insisted that we wanted to take a photo of the receipt we signed !!! She was extremely hesitant on not showing us the signed receipt and again we told her we need that photo. Dominique was purposely stalling, I guess she was thinking we would get annoyed and just leave . But After quite a while of going back and forth she finally gave up and gave us the receipt, we took the photo , said thank you and left. We all thought the entire experience was extremely odd and we felt like something was not right . On Monday 5/20/24 we checked the bank account that was used for the bill , only to find out that our server DOMINIQUE CHANGED OUR TIP AMOUNT AFTER THE RECEIPT WAS ALREADY SIGNED.!!! FRAUD!! She added 4x the amount we had tipped her !! I was not going to post this review but after I saw that someone else posted a review about the same fraud happening to them from CHOKOS SOCIAL on the same weekend as us , I was extremely upset! THIS IS NOT OKAY! I went back on older reviews and I saw someone else posted about this 1 month ago!! I have never been to any other place with service as bad as Chako's. Had a reservation for 12:15 and wasn't approached by anyone until 12:40 and that is only because we asked for a server. The manager approached us before 1 o clock telling us our 90 minute time was up but we hadn't even recieved our food yet! The whole time we were there our waitress never checked on us. In fact I had to ask the table next to us for a napkin because no one had been checking on our table. Finally around 2:30 I asked to speak to the owner which he turned me to another GM which he took care of us. First off, we sat down at 12:07 and were not greeted nor did any waitress come up until 12:35 when WE had to reach out for help to order some water.. We ordered food at 12:40 (WHICH NEVER ARRIVED BY THE WAY) However, while waiting for our food. I did notice the manager (Curtis) tending to the dj's and other guests (taking shots with them, cursing at staff and ignoring guests as they were trying to get help/ seated/ service) He then tried kicking us out and saying our time was up (Hadn't even been an hour) nor was our food there. There was a nicer gentleman who did bring us chips and salsa as we had been waiting forever. (Didn't get his name) This place definitely has no experience in hosting brunches and they should definitely rethink the way they run things. Karoke on Wednesday nights is super lit and has a live band that plays with you! It's such a dope experience and makes it really easy to get up on stage and rap/sing. I haven't seen anywhere else do it like that yet & the band is really good too and also the host Eric Tucker is such a vibe! We made a reservation and based off OpenTable and the website, thought it was a little more elegant. With that said, the cocktails were very good and the food was ok. We went with the potato skins for an appetizer because they were out of the spinach dip. I had the lemon butter chicken and it was a little dry and more of a rosemary flavor. SHADY BUSINESS! THEY ALTER RECEIPTS AND ADD MORE TIP AFTER RECEIPT HAS BEEN SIGNED...FRAUD-POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE My friends and I went to grab drinks here last month and the service was NOT good. Mind you the place was pretty empty. Our server seemed annoyed about everything we asked. I asked if instead of ordering an entire flight, I could just order one of flavors as a single drink. She said it depended on the mood of the bar tender and never came back to tell me whether he would do it or not. When she came back to our table to drop off another drink I told her I would just order the flight to make it easier. She immediately reacted very annoyed/rude saying he was already making my drink and said if he wasn't going to make it she would've obviously told me and have me order another drink. She also was giving my boyfriend a hard time when he asked for our receipt. A few days after coming here my bf checked his bank statement and noticed the total didn't match and he saw that the tip amount was altered by $20, luckily we got our money back but based on the reviews this is not the first time they've done this and certainly will not be the last. You would think rebranding from JP23 to Chakos would help the negative demeanor this place held, but unfortunately it didn't. This weekend I was drugged out in the open. After realizing something was floating in my drink I asked the bartender if she seen anything and asked if I could get a new drink. I was turned away and shortly after the bartender had security escort me out. I was on the streets alone while feeling the side affects of said drug.
