I don't know why so many people are giving this place a bad rap. I was skeptical to go but it was adorable! You know you're getting an over-the-top kitschy little speakeasy with hilarious drinks. The whole thing is such an experience. We had the best bartenders ever and even got a cookie for our birthday! The staff was very nice. Getting in that champagne flute was silly and great for a picture. Also, while we were there it was very much giraffe themed but I did not hear or see anything Taylor Swift. Not sure if they're getting away from that theme or maybe I just don't know enough about the songs to understand if some of the decor was related to her. I am hoping next time is better but I'm so sad for my friend who it was her first time going and didn't get the experience that I had previously had. This was my third time visiting Champagne Problems. My first two experiences were absolutely wonderful -- the decor was so fun and immersive, and as a Swiftie, I truly loved the vibe. The staff was amazing, welcoming, and it really felt like a special Taylor-inspired spot. However, my most recent visit this weekend was a completely different experience. There were only two other tables in the restaurant, and everyone seemed to just be sitting quietly watching the one TV screen playing Taylor music videos because there was no Taylor music actually playing in the space. Instead, the music was Spanish music and Beyoncé. When I asked why there wasn't any Taylor music being played, the staff member simply said, "Oh, it played in the beginning of the playlist," and didn't really offer any explanation beyond that. The atmosphere felt off compared to what made this place so unique before. I honestly believe the other tables (and we probably would have as well) would have stayed longer if there had been more of the Taylor-themed energy that the restaurant is known for. Instead, everyone seemed to eat, look around, and then leave. The food didn't disappoint--flavorful, tasty, absolutely delicious. I'd definitely go back just to have it again. The atmosphere and vibe were immaculate, with animal prints everywhere giving the place such a fun, unique energy. I personally prefer going on a weekday if you want to chill and really soak in the vibe, but if you're looking for a livelier, party-like atmosphere, weekend nights are perfect. I didn't get the shots advertised. the champagne was supposed to be from 9 to 11:50, but I didn't get mine until 9:30 ish close to 10 when the owner showed up and it was over at 10. Cute spot, good dj. Overpriced. They also serve food. I would try it for the experience. The unicorn drink was cute. I like the idea. The inside is nice. The general manager W.E, his name, was chased me down to pay a bill that I already paid: so tacky. It's one of those places as a brown person I wouldn't go to. Soooo, obviously we went to this bar because we were told it was a Taylor Swift themed speakeasy. And it is...sort of. It's a very fun "speakeasy" experience. The space is gorgeous with beautiful bathrooms, a giant champagne glass and a super cute lift area for larger parties. I can imagine renting the whole place out for a party or reception. There are a few Taylor things sprinkled around, but I would definitely say that this is a space for the non-swiftie as well. They weren't playing Taylor swift, and we literally questioned why. Our server said that they play Taylor all day before 5pm and then late night. He then said he would add some Taylor songs to the que for us. As soon as they did the whole bar lit up and the girlies were dancing and having a great time. I mean, I get that you can't solely rely on the Swifterhood to patronize your bar, but if you're marketing it to swifties so we'll spend our money there, you HAVE to at least play some Taylor songs even if it's just the 1989 bops. This place is so cute and quirky. I saw it on social media and decided to stop by while I was in New York. To get in I had to figure out where the entrance to the secret door was located by pressing snack chips that were hanging on the door and the walls around it. That was fun and cute. This is a Taylor Swift inspired speakeasy that is decorated with all sorts of fun and colorful paraphernalia. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. Me and my friends went for drinks only before going to dinner. The drinks are tasty and depending on what you order it comes served in a cute themed cup. It's a kitschy place where you have to "tap" empty bags of potato chips lining the wall for then a secret door to open into the bar. There's a large giraffe and a human-sized martini class that patrons can climb into for a photo op, which is fun. We sat ourselves on the second floor, and though the bar was relatively dead, it took forever to get service. Not sure what to think of this champagne speakeasy place. I have seen it all over tik tok and social media. I was excited to go and glad i was able to go for my birthday weekend. When you walk in there is a vending machine that you can get chandon mini bottles from I believe. You have to pay for it obviously. The walls in this area are covered in bags of chips and you have to hit some of the bags until you find the right one that opens the door into the actual bar part. The guy in the front was very nice and talkative he is the one that checks everyone in. When you get in there the bar is to the left and tables to the right. Then you may be seated in the upstairs area where we were. There is a big statue of a champagne bottle in the middle of it and the ceilings are made with mirrors and it's very cool looking. The tables are small at least at the one we sat at. There is a button in muddle of table that if you need waiters help you press it and they come. It says ring for champagne. It's a pretty cute idea. This is a Taylor swift bar there are alot of components to this place that have her face on things and she is in the mural that is on the back wall. I believe there are also drinks named after a song or two or something like that. In the downstairs area there is a big ball pit in the shape of a champagne glass where people can actually go into. We opted out of this but looked fun. On the bottom floor is where the bathroom is. It is pretty chilly in this bathroom. The sink is an ice bucket and the soap dispenser is in the shape of a champagne bottle. Very cute ideas. This place is great for instagram/ social media pictures. There is lots you can photograph. The menu here you have to scan the qr code on a mini tube of pringles. Another cute idea. Once it opens the menu is soo hard to read. Atleast, my friend and I were having issues with it. For some of the drinks they come in a cute animal or an object. My first drink came in a panda my friends came in a girraffe and hers had banana chips in it. I did not like mine so I sent it back and got a mini bottle of chandon instead. The waiter was nice but there was some Miscommunication through out the time we were there. Speak easy type of vibes. You have to find your way into the establishment behind a door of all sorts of chips. (Really fun feature). The concierge/host was extremely friendly, while checking my id she noticed my birthday was the day before. She sent a text inside and within a few minutes of me entering the dj was shouting me out by name wishing me a happy birthday. That was a nice touch. The drink menu is extensive as you can imagine a ton of champagne options. They serve food but I just came from dinner so I didnt try it out this time. They do offer free bar snacks some tasty chips. The lay out is nice an upstairs and main floor. A ton of photo opportunities. Although its a Taylor swift themed bar I was happy that they played a variety of music. Let's start out by saying we found parking right in front of the restaurant! You can't miss this glittering gold and green, it's definitely a social media restaurant (I'm in love with the PHOTO) Walking in we were greeted by the door man and upon entrance there is a champagne vending machine and chip bags galore. Next we were greeted by the hostess/waitress and walked into the 80's with a jungle glamour sort of thing going on but it's all about the photos right (Not in my book). The seating on the 1st floor is bad because you are way too close to the other parties attending the restaurant, your conversations here are not private although we lucked up and sat next to some cool people. If unable to get the waiters attention press the champagne button in the middle of your table an wallah. So the reason for the chip bag decor is explained by the food because everything comes with chips except the pot stickers. Speaking of pot stickers salty as ever 1 out of 10 and as for the artichoke and spinach dip which was paired with unsalted chips and carrots was bland and there wasn't a salt shaker in sight we ended up attending another restaurant. They say don't knock it until you try it well I tried it and I'm knocking it. If you go for anything just go for the photos. read more

This is a chic speakeasy hidden behind a wall of bagged chips. You need to press one of the bag of chips to enter. Inside is much bigger than expected. They do serve food, but it was quite pricey - same with the drinks. Expect to spend $20 or more on a cocktail. I got the "P.AN.DA. Pere Armand David" cocktail for $22. It came in a cute panda drinking mug. The cocktail did not really taste good though. It was very sour from the lemon, and I did not really get notes of blueberry or lavender. The service was pretty poor too. I took us a while to actually get our order in. Our bartender gave only a few people at the bar chips and ignored others. I had to ask her if we could have some chips and she seemed annoyed. The ambiance is cute. It is a nice place to go with your girlfriends and get some pictures taken. read more

A social media restaurant/bar that's all about the gimmicks. The theme is all over the place: Taylor swift, Valentine's Day, safari, gaudy Vegas, champagne and New Year's Eve, and bodega snacks. The decor looks like a high school project sponsored by dollar tree decorations (no hate on dollar tree though). There's a giant champagne glass you can climb into for pics. Everything is very overstimulating, but there's something to see on every inch of the restaurant. Whoever designed the digital menu needs to be fired. It's illegible and looks like it was created in 90s Microsoft word, saved on floppy disc then uploaded through MySpace code. The drinks are fun in cute glasses and the food is decent, not amazing but not terrible. The service was good at least. Everything was overpriced for how mediocre the experience was. I emailed weeks in advance for a birthday dinner party celebration for 25 people. There was frequent follow up. We arrived and we were pleasantly surprised with the decorations and atmosphere. The workers were very friendly and polite. That is where the compliments end. The loft room was freezing. There was only one waitress, one bartender, one cook in the kitchen, the host upfront doubled to bus tables. The food was lukewarm, multiple menu items, including liquor, were unavailable. We waited almost 2 hours for appetizers. Many in my party did not eat at all. We had a 7PM reservation and we left after 10PM and I personally did not eat. My food never came out. This is a cute place to visit for an expensive weak drink and take pictures. Then leave. read more

I came here last night to celebrate a friends bday. 1st off, if you like to take pics for social media, this is the place for you. If you are looking for great cuisine, go somewhere else. The decor is cool & fun. The staff was cool, especially the manager (he was hilarious). The menu was a bit hard to read. You have to scan the qr code but it was kinda all over the place. The drinks were good but WAY overpriced. I've lived in nyc my whole 43 yrs of life and has visited numerous bars, restaurants, speakeasy and clubs and have NEVER paid $25 for drinks. Thats absurd. The food is basic "around the corner" Chinese food. I ordered the shrimp lo mein for $28 and for that price I was expecting a large plate of food. I received a small/medium box of average Chinese restaurant lo mein. It was good because you can't really mess up lo mein. However, for $28 for a little box of food is absolutely ridiculous. I could've gone to any Chinese restaurant in Harlem and got a large box of lo mein for $12-$14. Although the place is fun, I don't think I will return. Too expensive. If you're into aesthetics, then go. If you're into great reasonably priced food & drinks, DO NOT visit. And even if you're into expensively priced food & drinks, the quality needs to be supurb and this place isnt it. Fun atmosphere but thats about it. read more

They need to work on customer service and HYGIENE. First, the drinks are pure sugar. Cocktail was $26 and was simply coffee liquor with sugar and a splash of alcohol. The bartender kept giving us dirty looks as if we were bothering her by simply sitting in the bar. Blonde two tone hair (blonde and brunette). Made us feel like a bother. Watched her TASTE our cocktails with the same stirring spoon one after the other WITHOUT washing it in between. How DISGUSTING. Then proceeded to use what looked like EXPIRED juice to refill her b juice bottles in the well. Bar was very very messy, bottle spouts with no home and dirty glasses. When I asked the server to see my bill she huffed and said "why?" And I said "because I need to se what I paid for". Coming from someone that has been a bartender for over 10years, this is the one spot that I will tell everyone NOT to go to.
