It doesn't really get busy until late night, which is when this place starts to come alive. There's a small sketch lot behind the restaurant plus some street parking. I usually take my food to go. They cook the meat right in the dining area, which smells incredible, but it does get pretty smoky inside, so it's not the most comfortable place to sit and eat. Bring cash! They charge more for cards.

Over time, I noticed the dining area felt increasingly stuffy and uncomfortable. I even found a fly in my burrito once at the time, I brushed it off thinking it was just a one-off mistake and not a big deal. However, their health standards have clearly dropped significantly this year. I was shocked to see recent 1-star reviews, which prompted me to check the LA County Health Department website. I found out they were actually shut down by the health department on 7/13/26 due to a severe 11-Point Major Vermin Violation (insects, rodents, or other pests present), along with multiple major infractions for unsafe food temperatures and unsanitary food contact surfaces. Seeing that official report makes the fly in my food feel like part of a much bigger pattern. Needless to say, I won't be returning until they completely clean up their act and get their health department grades back up, which I really hope they do because their food is actually good at a great price.

From the menu it looks like the prices are very reasonable here. I feel like that term hidden gem gets thrown out a lot, and it is very subjective, but even when I knew where I was going, I almost missed the spot. This place truly feels like a hidden gem. My experience in particular was coming in to get a taco to go. Full disclosure I just had another meal at a spot close by, but I really wanted to hit this place up since I don't get to this area often. When I came in, I was greeted and helped by the one of the friendliest servers you have ever met. I felt a little bad because these are one of the spots that I would love to have a sit down meal at some point, but I really wanna try a specific time that they had - the marlin taco. This taco comes with cheese and an avocado on top along with some salsa. I have to say this taco is such a wonderful bite. I'm hoping to come back soon and hungry so I can totally have the full sit down experience at this place. These places need to be treasured and supported!

I've gotten the Al Pastor tacos, the Carne Asada burrito, and my girlfriend usually gets the Lengua tacos. Let me just say that these tacos are arguably some of the best tacos in LA. The Al Pastor, carved fresh off the trompo, served with salsa, crema, and piña is seriously delicious. The Asada burrito I got the first time is simple and straight to the point, beans, cheese, asada, onion, and cilantro. The tortillas, at the least the maiz, are made by hand. The flour tortillas for the burritos are tasty. They have a few stools outside to sit down and eat your food as it comes straight from the kitchen. It is limited for seating during busy nights, so be prepared to eat standing up if need be, street taco style. I promise it's worth it! In all, we usually go here after a night out and there is always a line, but it's worth the wait. It would be dangerous if this place was closer to home because we'd eat it every day!

-0 stars ... Good Flavor, Terrible Attention to Detail…read more This was my second time giving this place a try. The food definitely has good flavor, but unfortunately, the customer service and attention to detail are horrible. The first time I came here, they completely forgot to give me my torta. I brushed it off, but it honestly took me months before I decided to give them another chance. This time, I came with my family and ordered my food with everything it normally comes with. When I got it, they had literally only put the protein--nothing else I asked for. At this point, I won't be going back. Good food only goes so far when the service and order accuracy are consistently this bad. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Long gone! However, this El Atacor Taqueria #1 (not number 11) has the exact same food! Maybe same owners? I don't know, am just happy the food and menu are the same to include the interior of the restaurant (I spy the same arcade games). El Atacor restaurant is known for their CRUNCHY POTATO TACOS and they are so good! I recommend it with their red salsa. Their red salsa is mild to medium spicy and similar to King Taco or El Taurino's version, but with less smokiness. Love their red salsa! Beyond potato tacos, we loved their carne asada tacos and chile rellano on the menu. The restaurant is open late till 11:30pm; and 1:30 am on Friday/Saturday. Card and Cash accepted. Parking should not be a problem in a nondescript mini-mall situation.
