Amazing torta, would recommend. Their house made salsa was fire as well. If you're in the area this is a must check out spot

You really can't beat a solid sandwich. The Carne Asada was cooked nicely and the pickled jalapeño made every bit perfect. Prices here are a bit on the steep side but the plate portion sizes make up for it, plus comes with unlimited chips. Interior is incredibly charming with lots of local memorabilia.

Back again, this time on a Saturday! I love the vibes in here and the service is always excellent and the food filling my soul. Chips and salsa always bomb. This time we got the milanesa torta and the chilaquiles verde! So good. Definitely have to come here if you want a torta and a good vibe. There is limited parking in the back and street parking. We were able to find a spot even though it was fairly busy at 10:30

Just left Wendy's Torta-- haven't been in the neighborhood for a while, but this spot has always been a favorite. Big thanks to Stacey and Javi for the delicious food and excellent customer service. The Chilaquiles were absolutely fire, and my wife's Chicken Caldo hit the spot. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served with a smile. Can't wait to come back soon!

I love the exterior look of the building with their iconic sign. When you step inside it feels like being transported to a simpler time. They have a couple fun phone booths against a side wall and an analog Photo Booth that --depending on the time of year-- will print strips that have the words "Go Dodgers" on it. Because Philippe's is also known to be a place that Dodgers fans can congregate. The line gets quite long, but the staff does their best to get people through as quickly as they can. There is plenty of seating that can be found on the ground floor, as well as upstairs. Although it has been disputed if they are indeed the originators of the French Dip, I must say that have not had a French Dip that has even come close to being as good as the one I had here. And I am a HUGE French Dip fan. You would think that dunking the roll in the au jus would make it just taste soggy, but instead the bread holds up and the au jus packs it with great flavor. Last thing--order it with the pickled egg! Thank me later.

Pork dip was ok, not quite as flavorful as the beef but still good. The hot mustard is the best. Baked apple was good, just apple with sugar, nothing not to like. The chocolate cream pie was disappointing. The texture had that grocery store stablizer taste rather than fresh cream.

Located in a bit of a hole-in-the-wall spot in LA Chinatown, and it was surprisingly hard to find due to the lack of signage. I actually walked past it twice and had to ask a street vendor before realizing I was basically right in front of it. Turns out they no longer offer the tamago sando (used to be a breakfast special), so I went with the egg salad sandwich instead and luckily got it on BOGO since they were clearing extra inventory. I also ordered the chicken katsu, which took about 10 minutes to prepare--but it was worth the wait. Super tender and moist, with a great ratio of cabbage, sauce, and bread. It was a bit large, so I had to flatten it slightly to make it easier to bite into. I do wish I had asked for extra katsu sauce on the side since I prefer mine a bit sweeter and more saucy. Not sure why they don't offer online ordering coz the 10-min wait was a bit awkward with no one else in the store and nowhere to sit

The food absolutely delivered. We tried the Op Boys Special sloppy joe and the Craw Mac Deluxe, and both were excellent. The jambalaya was another standout and easily something I'd order again. The exterior looks like it should be, but unfortunately many restaurants have been closing in this part of the city. Luckily, it was indeed open and the interior was VIBRANT! The design was colorful, filled with hand chalked signs of the menu, and everything, from the tables to the art on the walls, burst with personality. This is a place where minimalism doesn't exist and instead, it spends every opportunity to showcase who it is. Ordering is relatively simple. You walk over to the counter and tell them what you want. Everything is made to order so it'll take some time, but when it comes to refreshments you can see their large selection of different drinks in their glass case refrigerator on the side. My junior high years inspired me and I had to get an Arizona ice tea. It came in clutch as refreshment considering how hot the day was. On one wall there was a huge TV showing the Fifa World Cup games. It caught my eye and so we decided to dine in instead of taking it to go. Great choice by the way since hot food is best to eat right away. And what exactly did I get? Their po' boys of course! You have to keep it classic. We had the popcorn shrimp po' boy and it was fantastic. Meaty, tangy from the sauce, and with the right amount of green in their fluffy but structurally intact bread, I believe I finished this in five minutes cause it was so good. My hunger didn't dissipate quickly so I had to go back for round two. The Debris Fries caught my eyes. Fries smothered with their brown gravy and cheese, it was a delicious disaster and warmed my belly and fulfilled my appetite. I was one happy food belly dad. Being connected to a small store with neon lights highlighting some of the hot sauces and merchandise you can buy on one side while connected to the pub next door on the other side, The Little Jewel of New Orleans is one of those places you take good friends to when you want to show them a special place where the food is delicious, the vibes are immaculate, and the experience unforgettable. Whether you have to find an excuse to come out here or the restaurant is the excuse, make your way to The Little Jewel of New Orleans the next time you're around Chinatown. You won't regret it. Bring that appetite with you!

Plenty of noodles and beef to go along with it + all the sides. I would go back again when I'm around. Very filling and comforting bowl of soup!!! The sugarcane juice was so so good. There's a hint of orange in it for added flavor, and it works perfectly. It's a bit expensive at 7 dollars, but it hit the spot. Honestly, I'm not hesitant to spend 7-10 dollars on a cup of coffee, so maybe it wasn't truly that expensive. The restaurant itself is fairly unassuming and may not look as fancy and in order as some more new wave places, but the flavors here can't easily be replicated. Easily some of the better pho I've had in LA. Granted, i was really hungry, so that could have factored into the score. Places like this are what i love so much about Chinatown. The atmosphere inside is incredibly welcoming and there was a steady flow of customers coming for the Vietnamese coffee. I'm sad i didn't get to explore this part of the city during its prime, but im happy places like Gigo's are still around to enjoy and appreciate. Since we were trying to eat at as many places without feeling food coma'ed out, we ordered 1 Corn Beef Silog. Calamansi Tonic Espresso and Black Mamba. The Corn Beef Silog was really solid, it was also deep fried in a Panko Crusted outer layer which is their take on a Croquette. We particularly like the crunch it adds to the dish. But yeah it was the corn beef has we were looking for mixed with the good 'ol garlic rice and sunny side up egg. The vinegar they used was a lot stronger than I thought and I think they could do without it. The tonic espresso grew on me, upon first sip, I could taste the tonic and I haven't had tonic before so I wasn't feeling it. Until I mixed it and it got a lot better. What was really cute too, is they have pop up vendors and it was a bread and dessert vendor that are right across the counter. What caught my eye was this apron that was a collaboration between Garden and Seeds x Lasita. It had so many pockets and it went from a short apron to a long one with just a zipper. I bought this for the sole purpose of wearing it as an accessory as Tan/Brown pairs well with black and white clothing.
