Little Rodeo on Broadway is our neighborhood go-to for Mexican food. We usually order ahead for pickup. My husband's go-to rotation is the Al Pastor Burrito, or the fish fillet plate con salsa de ajo. We always order some extra tacos (de pollo, carnitas o barbacoa son mis favoritos). My usual go-tos are the potato taquito plate, chile relleno plate and the Chile Relleno burrito (I was SO EXCITED when they added that to the menu!) I also love their breakfast burrito con carnitas. The food is good, the service there is no complaint, the atmosphere is decent, but let me tell you its Hot inside. I am sure there is AC, but it did not do justice for the number of people that were arriving. Would I return, of course but when I return, I am going to drive by and see if there are a lot of people. I have only visited the Rodeo on Sunset in Echo Park. They have good food, ambience and service. The only thing I would recommend is the amount of salsas they offer with each meal. I would increase it from 2 to 4 since they are so small. The food portions have decreased by a lot. Parking is sometimes a hassle. Overall I recommend. read more

I am always in the mood for delicious tasting Mexican food. This place is located on Broadway, right in the heart of Lincoln Heights. It's right across the street from Lincoln High School. Their indoor dining is somewhat small, but it's like you're in your own kitchen at home. I had the Chilaquiles con huevo & asada and my friend got the carne asada plate. Food (except the nachos) and customer service is good especially the manager, she's so sweet! However, the only reason I'm leaving 3 stars is because of the NACHOS. At least for me, the proper way to serve nachos is to make sure the chips are well coated in cheese. There should be a layer of chips, then cheese, then the next layer and cheese on the top. Here, they only drizzle the cheese on top for both the regular and the nachitos size. I won't be ordering it anymore because I keep doing so hoping they'll make it better the next time but it's not. And they're too expensive to not have a decent amount of cheese... it's one of the main ingredients! Not even asking for extra cheese just the right amount! I've asked before for them to please make sure there's enough cheese but they say they have to charge me extra! I really hope they see this and take into consideration but I'll be reluctant to order nachos here again. I ended up with a couple of Asada Mulitas. 2 corn tortillas stuffed with meat, cheese, onion, cilantro and some avacado on the side. I came here on 3/30/2023 with a co-worker and a former college classmate on a workday during lunch at 1pm. This place used to be Taco Bravo for the longest time until fairly recently where the former business closed down and this new tenant assumed control of the retail space and opened up as Little Rodeo. Prior to Little Rodeo, Taco Bravo was essentially an open air "shack" with an order window at the front and a pickup window inside the open shack. It was ghetto but the food was good and the prices were dirt cheap back in the day. To be fair, before Taco Bravo, they were called a different name but it was basically the same owner and same cooks but I honestly can't remember that prior business name. It used to be just a bare front building with an order window and side window to pick up your food. That shack was never there. They had some sort of tent setup with some basic ass bleacher-style bench and tables but that shack was a Taco Bravo 'renovation'. Anyway, that previous name never stuck nor brought in much business until they changed their name to Taco Bravo. They built that open air shack and then for whatever reason, business started picking up and that's just what they stuck with until Little Rodeo took over the space. Little Rodeo built an actual inside dining room and did away with the pickup window on the inside and closed off the order window on the outside of the building. Now, there's an 'order counter' on the inside where you order and pick up your food from the inside of the building. They have some fancy conjoined TV's with their menu and prices. It's basically McDonald's setup but with Mexican food on the inside but there's no drive thru where as before, when it was under the other business name just prior to the Taco Bravo name change, they used to have that. The food is pricey for the area. $13-16 for the entree plates, appetizers were between $6-11, drinks were $2-5. Certain family meal packs were $35+. Lincoln Heights has always been ghetto up until just recently when the Gold Line Light Rail was built nearby on Ave 26 like some decade ago. Even factoring in the recent across the board price inflations, I'd be hesitant with stopping by on the regular here. I ordered the Carne Asada Plate. It's pretty tasty. There were some burnt ends that just added to the savory, smokey flavor of the meat. It comes with a side of refried beans, rice, salad, and 2 flour tortillas (You can order corn tortilla, if you want but flour is my preference). Pretty good overall but I'd rather go to Dino's for essentially the same thing but higher quality and slightly higher price point. Ambiance. It's like a small diner. Fairly quiet with the exception of patrons talking to each other. No TV's to watch unfortunately but at least it's fairly bright on the inside and the floors and tables were clean. I don't recall seeing a restroom. Again, the previous tenants didn't have restrooms to my knowledge back then so it seems like this hasn't changed either with the new tenant. They take credit cards with no purchase minimums or additional credit card/debit card fees to my knowledge. Enough said. Parking. I don't normally talk about this but they do have a small parking lot that can fit maybe 10 cars at any given time plus a dedicated spot for curbside pickup only. Plenty of street parking, if you know where to look. If you from the hood, you know what's up. All in all, I like it enough to recommend coming here. This used to be the hangout spot for Abraham Lincoln High School students to spend their time after school hours but I can already tell that because they built that inside dining room and raised the prices, they have largely went elsewhere. I guess that's just the cost of gentrification, unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who you are). read more

Had the chicken taquitos with rice, beans and guacamole. My child had two carne asada soft tacos. My folks split the 1/2 pollo asado with rice and beans. Second time ordering and food was meh! Ordered 3 plates and none were impressive. Al pastor tacos were so dry the meat tasted like jerky. I asked for Jack cheese to be added and they didn't put any. Got 2 dried out lime wedges with 4 tacos and barely got a few drops of juice out of them and these tacos REALLY needed some moisture. Carne Asada wet burrito meat was also super dry! It felt like they reheated previously cooked week old meat to be honest. Taquitos we're fine but I got the runniest watered down refried beans I've ever experienced with it. To add insult to injury we only got 4 small salsas for all of our food. Spent $50 on 3 plates-you'd think they could at least give 1 of each red and green salsa per plate but nope!
