This guy showed up on mariposa st with a story to tell

Whether you've lived in Burbank for years or just moved here, the Chandler bike path beckons you. You can walk, run, bike, skateboard or rollerblade along this stretch of path from North Hollywood through Burbank. It's all concrete but some like to run along the parts where there is grass. There is some shade here and there for breaks but most of it is out in the open. Chandler Bike Path used to be an old railroad from the 1970's and ran until they dismantled it in 1989 but leaving a stretch of unused railroad from Mariposa St and crossing Victory Blvd South into the industrial area where the rest of the railroads converged. It's a way to remind us what the city used to look like and how it's progressing into the future. I've seen kids learn how to ride a bike here and I think that is so sweet. It brings back memories of when I first learned how to ride a bike when I was 6. Nobody bothered to show me so I got off my hot wheels three wheeler (which kicked ass by the way) and tried using my next door neighbors bike just like that. I do know that I didn't fall much since I had decent balance and a healthy dose of adventurism. After a while I got it and borrowed bikes until someone bought me a real bike much later when I turned 10. The sun is shining right now. Go burn some calories or walk it at night as you talk on your cell phone.

When life gives you lemons, find a mean person with a paper cut.

Though short, this bike path. It's a peaceful ride from North Hollywood Red Line to Victory Boulevard in Burbank with lots of benches along the way. You'll find dog walkers, rollerbladers, runners/joggers and families enjoying a walk together here at pretty much any time of the day so I always feel safe. Just keep in mind there are designated sides for walkers/runners and cyclists - if you don't, you will get run over. Perhaps by me. Though I keep hearing this trail goes past the NoHo Redline station, I've attempted to bike further but bike path ends. I even Googled it but still found nothing. Would love to know if it does.

This bike path / walkway starts at north Hollywood redline station and goes throughout Burbank. It's the perfect neighborhood walk way ! Ppl exercise, walk their dogs , spend time with neighbors and even have photo shoots (it is LA). Well lit and safe!

I love it! It starts around the NoHo station, and goes all the way to Burbank. It's really spacious, and the people on it are really nice. I met a few cool bikers, and raced a kid, which was cool. It's definitely a semi-scenic ride. There are a few bike crosswalks intersecting busy roads, with a button to stop the cars! I'm subtracting the invisible sixth star because I want to see more bike paths and I want this one to be longer! Burbank really has it going on, as far as bike-friendliness, there is this, and some bike lanes; plus ample, smooth sidewalks when there is no lane. Comparative Bike-Relevant Sidenote: I was riding Victory Bvd, and as soon as I left Burbank and passed the sign that said "now entering LA city" or whatever, the bike lane disappeared and haphazard, massive sidewalk cracks and peaks appeared... Thanks for all the bike-consciousness NoHo...not!

Use to be railroad tracks. It is a cool statue.

It really depends when you go. I've been here twice riding my bike and I enjoyed the ride from N. Hollywood to Burbank. The path is for walkers and bikers alike. It is clearly marked and the city has done a nice job designing it. There are 3 or 4 breaks for cars and you have to stop or face a hefty fine. On a beautiful day it's a great way to get out and get some exercise. For all the complainers out there, it is free, so stop whining and go out and enjoy the outdoors. Less one star for the lack of bathrooms and water fountains. Take care of business before you ride.

Went to the vegan food festival yesterday. Was extremely crowded the lines for the food vendors were very long. I can't really say that I enjoyed the food a lot of it was just incredibly too spicy. You can cook vegan or plant-based food without making it spicy.

It's cute. We came here for an event the park held called National Night Out, where they had a bunch of vendors and booths and gave out a bunch of free stuff to the kiddos. It was fun. The only downside is we did see a coyote here. Which is pretty dangerous, obviously. We saw some joggers who encountered it, and the coyote ran away when the joggers got close, but the joggers also kind of ran away lol. In other words, it's a nice park, but I would be cautious with coyotes.

One served burgers, fries, nachos, and soda, and the other served popsicles. I was relieved they even had those because at first I thought there weren't any food trucks at all. When I first went into the park, I wasn't even sure where the festival was. I just followed the people in front of me. We all followed the sound of a live band playing. Once we found the band, we could see a row of tents opposite of them. The tents were mostly for sign ups to performing arts for both children and adults, that's why I thought there wasn't any food. Then I realized the 2 food trucks were parked on the road close to the row of tents. Even the number of portable restrooms available was small, only 3, but again, better than none at all. As far as festivals go, you get what you pay for and since this one was free from parking to entrance, don't expect much. It's still something to do and a good excuse to spend some time at the park with nice weather. As for the park itself, it's clean and a way to enjoy nature in the city. There are even plaques talking about the L.A. River and a bridge to go over the water. Just know that you'll hear the constant sound of cars because of the nearby freeway. Plus, it being Burbank, you can't help but be surrounded by the entertainment industry. The park itself is named after late night host Johnny Carson, you can see the ABC skyscraper over the treetops, and when you see the mountain with the radio tower on top, you know you're looking at the backside of the Hollywood sign.

Toby's parents took over a sizable area with picnic tables, where they set up a buffet lunch and, later, cake. The park is very beautiful with soft grass that seems well maintained and cut and there are zero foxtails which is a big plus. I can tell everyone respects the park as there's zero trash on the ground and everyone is picking up after their dogs. We did some excersizes with our dogs in the park and then we walked around the neighborhood and then back through the park along the nice dirt trail to end. Similarly to last time, again I noted ALLOT of off leash dogs. They seem well behaved but one did decide to run away from its owner and did a full circle around our pack and the owner was chasing it. This caused several dogs to react and get riled up and it really could have been an issue if that off leash dog had decided to run at any of us, thankfully it didn't, it was just happy to run in circles until its owner caught it. Overall despite this, these distractions were actually really helpful for practicing training with my dog, and she did amazingly. There were so many other distractions too such as loud cars or motorcycles and kids and people running or biking. I guess maybe my dog leveled up because it was a very successful walk! I was very happy today with the experience. All the people who live in the neighborhood next to this park are so lucky to be so close to such a beautiful and well maintained space.

Private lot parking, or street nearby parking. They are closed on Sundays. Kind of weird, but it's their rules, not mine. That's when people usually spend time with their families. The ceremony included reading each of their names out loud and placing a rose on the plaque that matched the war they died in. WWII had the most roses and deaths. There was also a live band, singers, and flybys by planes in formation. It was a very solemn and respectful ceremony to honor those who died on duty. After the ceremony, I stayed at the park for a bit longer laying a towel on the grass under a tree. I don't know if it was just the spot I picked, but even though it was really grassy, underneath it was really muddy, like when I finally got up my towel was soaked through and so was my back. Then I got lost trying to find where I parked because the park is bigger than it looks and has 3 parking lots. I thought there was only 1, so I didn't pay that much attention when I walked towards the ceremony. When I tried getting back to my car I honestly thought it might have been towed. Now I know there's a parking lot by the building that leads to the swimming pool, another next to the swimming pool itself so you can actually see the water, and the last one is next to the tennis courts and baseball field. This doesn't include the parking spots all around the perimeter of the park. The park is clean, has plenty of playgrounds for children, tables and benches to eat at, and a public restroom. It's not the quietest of parks, though, since there are so many children and it's next to a busy intersection, like during the ceremony a trash truck and a random car honked their horns in support of the ceremony. Otherwise, it really is a nice park with plenty of amenities.

You've got normal people just wanting to play tennis, old folks that play here all the time and want to coach you, coaches expecting you to leave the court mid-game so they can do their private lessons (which is not allowed because I called the city and coaches need a permit to hold lessons here! I've had a few arguments at these courts too which has caused me to not come as much/ call the city. I normally keep to myself and only come here to practice by myself since it's most convenient.
