Highly recommend if are looking for an awning company! I really don't understand the negative reviews as our experience was completely different. We found the company to be responsive and well staffed. Our phone calls were always returned in a timely manner, and the sales representative was quite patient with our multiple color change requests. We ended up purchasing two fabric awnings to overhang windows in our back yard after the original awnings were damaged in a monsoon. The turnaround time was responsible, approximately 6 weeks. The awnings were installed with no issue and look great. The fabric is high quality and the color is vibrant. Definitely recommend owner Steve and his great team! read more

Our screens might look good from far away, but when you get up close, there are gaps, screen stays missing and issues that should not happen. They put holes in our stucco that we had to seal ourselves, because of improper installation. 3 of the screen stays that fell out, we had to put them back up ourselves, on the 2nd story. Not to happy about that one. But when we had a little wind, and I mean a little wind the screen was moving back & forth Nice people, but not really happy with their service and product. read more

Looking to get a custom security door installed and multiple family members had a great experience with Chandler Screen so they were my first call. I should not have spent as much time trying to give them my business as I did, but I know the construction/home renovation trades are extremely busy right now and being a small local company with personal referrals, I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. So here goes... They do not answer their phones nor return messages. I had to call at least 3 times before getting through to a live person. I learned early, they do not return messages so after the 3rd one not returned, I stopped leaving any. After a week of calls, I got my estimate appointment booked for Monday, October 5th. The installed showed up and spent 15 minutes at my house taking measurements and had me take photos of the design book. He said all the doors were the same price so he would sent me a quote by the end of the day. When by Wednesday I didn't have a quote, I started calling. I was promised it would be emailed over. Friday, I hadn't received it. I called again. The gal said she it looks like the installer had a couple questions and he would call me. No call. The following week, I called she said she remembered me and would figure out what was going on and give me a call back for sure by end of day. She called me back 4 days later (at which point, I had already given up on them). She let me know the installer was in an accident and my paperwork had been lost. They needed to come out and remeasure. The "earliest" they could get back was 10 days away on October 22nd. After all this - they couldn't squeeze in 15 minutes any sooner (I am very centrally located in Tempe). I already had another company scheduled on the 22nd so I accepted the appointment thinking at the very least I could compare the two quotes and make a decision. Yesterday, October 22nd rolls around and they no call / no show on me. Needless to say, I went with the other company that showed up on time, provided a quote on the spot and provided proactive communication all along the way. read more

So therefore we missed the swimming season to enjoy them. Plus they were so disorganized as to placing the poles etc. as they had to do them twice and had to make the two sails twice. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR SCREENS. They gave us a quote late April and didn't install our shades until early June. We tried to make changes to our order around May 20th and they said we signed a contract and couldn't change anything even though by that time it had already been almost a month since we got the quote. Once they started installing our shades I was very unhappy with how dark some of our rooms were. I asked if we could change out 2 rooms for lighter shades and they said I would have to buy new shades and pay for the installers to come out again. They were not willing to work with me at all. I'm writing this 2nd review to upgrade the stars. I did get a call the next day to pick up my screen door and I also left a screen window there to be replaced. I tried to pay on pick up for faster service but they require payment in advance. I said you guys forgot about my door when you had my money up front but was told they were just backed up and had not forgotten. I was showed a work order from a date previous to my door to prove production was weeks behind. I was pleasantly surprised when they called me a few days later with my window screen replacement which fit well. I'm going to bring them a couple more to fix now that they improved service time. Initial install was extremely professional. Screens were installed about a year ago and my wife noticed that the screens in her office were warped and discolored. No other screens showed the same damage. Dan came out and determined that the tint that was on the window must have melted the screen. He replaced the screen at no cost and we removed the tint. I ordered screens through Chandler screen and Awning. To expedite the process I measured the screen openings and existing screen as a template which I sent to them to exact measurements to a 32nd of an inch. When I ordered them, the owner told me that they cut to an eight of an inch variance, which I foolishly agreed to. Well when the screens came they were too small, and mosquitoes were coming in because of variance. The owner came out, took the screens back and recut them closer to my original specs and they are a perfect fit now. I have used this company for over 10 years with regards to exterior sun screens.. both new and re screening. Each spring before putting them back on.. I choose a few that have faded and take them over to will call to get them re screened. I went over today and noticed several new faces. Normally they measure the square footage and the cost includes material and installation. The receptionist seemed to have issues with the measurements and pricing and double checked with the office manager in the back warehouse. The price she quoted me to re screen two medium sized window screens was astronomical and almost double what I've paid in the past. I asked if they were under new ownership to which she verified yes at which time I grabbed my screens and walked out. While loading up the screens in my vehicle she came outside and said they would lower the cost by $50 which I thought was extremely odd and shady. I would recommend that if you consider Chandler screen and awning to get several quotes from other businesses as they seem new to the business and their pricing is way off. read more

I am a real estate agent and I had a client wanting to get some motorized drop down screens on a large patio on their brand new home. I called Chandler Screen and Awning based on a recommendation from a colleague. They made an appointment a week out, called me the day before to confirm. I told expressly told the appointment setter that is was a brand new home, gave them directions because it isn't on GPS yet. 10 minutes before the appointment I get a frantic call from the appt setter that they cannot find the home and that they had been calling me prior. My phone never rang before that moment, and no messages were left. I said no big deal, appointment is still not missed, gave her directions again after I could get her to shut up and take them. She said she would call her tech and see if he was still in the area and let me know. I said well since it's not even past the appointment time he should still be there. I called me client's to let them know the tech would be a little late and went on with my day. The next day I called me client's to see how it went, he never showed, they waited 2 hours, they are nice people and thought maybe he went to his next apt and would come back. Friday morning, 2 days later and no call from this vendor, I call speak to a gentleman who assures me that is not acceptable, he would look into and call me back to get things straightened out. That was on March 30th, and I haven't gotten a call back. My recommendation is stay clear, if they can't even get out to bid, call back or communicate I can imagine how bad the rest of their customer service is. read more

I had some of my old screens dropped off at Chandler screen & awning on November 1st and they we're suppose to have them re-done in a "couple of days", they weren't ready until December 5th! Then when my handyman went to install them, more than half of them were the wrong measurements. My handyman took the wrong ones back on December 17th and I was suppose to hear from them that same day but now it's been ten days and I still haven't heard from anyone.
