Aaloo Tikki Chaat

Went to satisfy a pain puri craving and this place doesn't disappoint. I vote this as the best pani puri place with a live counter and five flavors of water. The place is exceptionally clean and serves authentic Delhi type chaats and other dishes. I have been to both their restaurants. Here and the food truck in Fremont. See you next time I have an urge for authentic dilli style pani puri. Must mention the friendly staff who also recommended the gulab jamun cheesecake , unfortunately we had our plates and stomachs full.

Food: All of the food we ordered was superb! Spice levels were perfect for the kids although adults could tolerate more. But great flavor and taste and decent portions! Service: Our host Bharat was awesome, very kind, friendly and patient. Great service! Thank you! Ambience: Hole in the wall restaurant. Vibrant desi decor! Bollywood and desi street vibes! Nice music! Restrooms: Very clean and well maintained. Decor is great too! Parking: No problems at all. Reserved parking within the lot. All in all highly recommend! Will come again! :)

I'd been craving pani puri for months - and I don't trust myself to make it. So this was a fun experience, with a live pani puri experience that mirrors what you'd find in India, standing around a card while trying different flavors (I loved the sweeter flavors). The rest of the meal was also good. I left feeling satisfied and got a wonderful experience. The decor in the place is particularly great; it's one of the best designed Indian spots I've seen.

Enough parking available Wish the parking lot was better lit Went on a weekend. Got the pani puri.. it's 8 pieces in a plate and 5 flavors. So I picked all 5 and repeated the ones I liked Also ordered the veg momo and veg triple schezwan. The chai was fantastic! The ambience of the place is so authentic. Feels like you are back in the streets of Chandni Chowk. They even played old commercials on the tv! You can order at your table but You pay at the counter.

Not quite sure what happened between visit one and two. We had some amazing food on visit one, but the second time around it was just alright. Outside of the dahi vada, the other chaat was mediocre. The papdi chat was peculiar, it had too much papdi/puri but not enough yogurt and nothing else other than chatnis. The Dahi puri was underseasoned, the chicken was swimming in butter, not a bad thing, but it was lukewarm at best. The roomali roti it came with was just alright. Perhaps we stick to the two things that we enjoyed, the dahi vada and the cholay bhature (from visit one) and assume that other dishes will be a hit or a miss.

They have great Chaat options along with a live counter. I really liked their decor and the old Delhi ambience Coming to the food , this was my second visit to this place and I must say my favorite has been their aslaam chicken . It is finger licking good.. I tried their Indo Chinese options like chicken lollipop , schezwan fried rice and noodles which was also great and spicy to my liking. Our server was very polite and welcoming and food arrived on time . We were seated immediately since we arrived early to avoid the dinner rush on a Friday .

Super lively decor! Been dying to try pano park and it was quite the experience. They had 4 different flavors the day that we came: mint, really spicy, mango , and I forgot. Overall mango was refreshing. Will come back to try pineapple.

Great nostalgic place to have food and they are open late. Lafayette location is lot better than fremont one, great ambiance bringing nostalgic memories. Good service too, we went for live pani poori better than Fremont place, triple schezwan and sauce a fan favorite, proved right and pao bhaji all were tasty and just right. If you get hungry late night, place to go.

Veg / vegan review : 1. Pav bhaji (3.5/5): Asked for no butter on the pav and gravy, they did probably add a little to the pav but it's mostly vegan otherwise (got butter that would've gone on the gravy separately). It's also very greasy 2. Aalo tikki (3/5): its was all right but this is vegan. It's fully fried so greasy Despite not liking the food too much, it's very very greasy :( I really liked the service! They changed the aalo tikki chaat to the aalo tikki 2 pieces as I don't have dahi and they didn't complain and so happily did this. 't complain!

We did pickup order and it was fairly quick food prep. They're open till pretty late especially for a South Bay spot. The aloo tikki chaat was alright. My only complaint was that the chutneys weren't super uniformly spread and each bite ended up tasting very different. The chinese seekh kebab was alright. It was kinda of too salty and the meat quality wasn't too great. It was also dry and tough. The worst offender was the rumali roti. It was too oily and according to Saurav not thin enough to be called rumali The mumtaz chicken was quite good. It was malai-like sauce with grilled chicken. The chicken was a bit dry but I did like the smokey char on it from the grilling. The veg momo was pretty chill. It kind of reminded me of Korean dumplings (in a good way)

Tried Chandni Chowk for the first time and it was a hit for us especially the gol Guppas since I'm from Delhi. The variety of water it very enticing but I had my two favorites which were mint and khata meetha. My son enjoyed the chicken tikka masala. The naans were very delicious and melted in the mouth. The samosa chaat was okay. Could have been better. But overall a good place to enjoy desi food. Definitely will go back for gol guppas. Friendly service and cute decor with dilli feel to it.

Live Pani Puri! Finally got to try Pani Puri! Prices are okay. You get 7 in each order. * We ordered: - Live Pani Puri: 5 different broths to try from. So good! There's some that are sweet, some that are spicy, and some that are a mix. - Dahi Puri Chat: filled with chickpeas, potato, soup, some other yummy stuff, & topped with a cherry I do prefer the normal Pani Puri Pros: - Food came out quickly - lots of seating & parking - open late! - Bollywood themed interior, ambiance is good

Chandni chowk is an indian street style chaat place open late with flavorful food and great decorations. There's plenty of parking and indoor seating. The food is authentic and the portions are great for the price. We ordered the aloo tikki chaat, honey chili potatoes and dahi puri for 4 people and it was very filling. The servers brought the food out quick. We also got an order of pani puri - it was 8 puris at the stand and there were 5 pani flavors to choose from. This is a great place to visit with your family when craving street food. I'd definitely come back!

Nice selection of both veg and non veg food items. I've had the Bihari kabab and Hakka noodles. Both were well done and were flavourful.

I got the shakkarkandi , soya chaap and the prawn starter. Starting with the shakkarkandi - it was al dente on the inside and roasted on the outside, the chutneys on the top were the right combo of sweet and sour. The soya chaap was soft and would dissolve in a few bites. The curd based sauce below was sweet and tangy - it elevated the dish further. The prawn dish was the star of the evening - the masala, the roast and the presentation - it is a must have here - Hidden gem!!! I got paneer lababdar with basil roti and seasonal vegetable biryani. The paneer was soft and went really well with the gravy. The roti was a bit of confusion as it didn't work that well - missed the basil flavor. The biryani had some hits and a few misses. Overall - Good food, patient staff and delightful decor Will definitely be back for more !

My brother-in-law was visiting from North Carolina, so we brought him as our guest to celebrate our anniversary. In addition to our celebration, the people at the next table were celebrating a graduation. The ceilings are high, both indoor and outdoor, and the space is nicely lit. The service is ok. They are familiar with dishes but never filled our water glasses. I am not usually a stickler for this, but this time I will be. The table was not crumbed although we ordered a dessert. I also feel at a place of this caliber they should offer to pack our leftovers backstage rather than leave it to us. Good news, we did have leftovers! Bad news, the containers we were given to pack our leftovers have such thin sides we could not get the lids to seal. Perhaps there is an art to this, which again favors this being done backstage by the server. I wonder if I brought a bottle of wine and five guests, whether they would offer to pour it backstage or pour it sloppily at the table? If a server has not been trained how to pour a 125 mL or 150 mL pour, it's best done backstage. Would I return? The answer is yes. The paan leaf shareable was new to me and good. I have a Lucknawi heritage and would pass on the Pani Batashe. I wish they had Sheermal, but you never see it on offer. The parottas (chili and basil) were eaten with relish by my tablemates. The Do Din Ki Dal was really good as was the Amchuri Subzi. I had the Kodagu lamb to myself as my table mates are vegetarian. I have to say I really enjoyed the flavor and the lamb chunks were bite-size and generally tender and not dry. We shared the Gulab Jamun and tea to close our meal. I prefer the Gulab Jamun at yellow chili, but this is OK. UPDATE: we came back with another friend from out of town and this time I had the Awadi Nihari lamb shank. Falling off the bone good accompanied by saffron rice and gravy. On the whole, however, I prefer the Kodagu lamb. I ordered their Negroni Kamikaze, but it appears they brought me someone else's drink. It tasted like a greyhound and looked like a greyhound, but when I asked them, they assured me it was the Negroni kamikaze, and that they make it with white vermouth. However, I just looked at their menu and it says they use red vermouth so something went wrong. This is another example of the lack of investment in the training of their wait staff. My wife wanted a non-sweet Lassi, so they made her a masala lassi which she enjoyed. We were back even sooner than expected!

We didn't feel like cooking and I had passed this place a couple times on my way to Mission College…read more So we went online and placed a carryout order for veg and non-veg thalis. Strangely, although I had given my phone number, I never got a text message that my order was ready for pick up. However, they had estimated the time and so I left and arrived and they were just packing my order. They took the time to ask if I wanted the veggie dishes packed in a separate bag from the non-veg which I found to be very thoughtful. If you do choose to dine in, the space is simple and unprepossessing. There are some booths along the wall and tables in the room and a nice stencil of peacocks. If you care to do so, you can walk over to the counter and look into the kitchen I came home and found that all our food was hot to piping hot, still which is good. Oh! The karela was delicious. I have seen some people complain in their reviews that the non-veg thali did not have enough meat, particularly lamb. I was happy with the quantity of chicken and mutton in my order. We even had enough for leftovers for the following day. If you are a member of one of these frequent flyer dining programs, then you may find you also receive some additional points for your custom. I did!

Not worth the visit. Meager portions in play-set utensils…read more The service is humble and slow. The mango lassi was decent, rest all was just cooked spices. The vegetarian meal had no vegetables and the bones had barely any meat on them. We were group of 6, and none of us were satisfied from their meal and we each paid about $25 for our food. One guy received his meal after all 5 were done and believe us we all tried to wait for his meal. Not worth the time and money. I will never go back and wouldn't recommend anyone. The flavors might cater to some but not my kind of meal.
