We went on a Friday evening right when they opened, and everything was fresh and delicious. The restaurant filled up quickly, so it's clearly a popular spot. The buffet has a great selection of salads, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, juice, chai, and desserts so there's something for everyone. Pro tip: Ask for the dosa! One thing I love about a meal is variety, and Indian Sizzler is the place for that. I came here on a Saturday at 8pm, and we were seated immediately. The weekend dinner buffet is pricier than the lunch buffet or weekday buffet, but I do think it's worth it considering the amount of food you can get! From drinks like mango juice and chai, to "main course items" including both veggie and meat options, to desserts like ice cream and coconut custard pudding, there are definitely more dishes than you even have the appetite to try. My favorites of the night were the goat curry and pav bhaji, but honestly all the dishes are seasoned with generous amounts of seasonings and spices. Our waiter was super nice and kept bringing us out more naan and masala dosa. I got full way sooner than I wanted to, so didn't get to try all the dishes - thus I will be back! How can you not wanna try this place based on the name? And it was everything I expected, which wasn't really a high bar based on the "Sizzler" name. Like most Indian Buffets, they bring the Naan to your table, so it's fresh and this version was pretty good. They also brought Dosa (I hadn't had before) which was good at first, but I guess you have to eat it hot. The food wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either, kinda like the OG Sizzler. I had a couple of plates of food and nothing really stood out. They had about 10 different choices for food, some cold items, and some desserts. The setup seemed like they didn't really remodel the space for a buffet. I don't think I'd go back based on the price and the quality. Lots of food choices, some are pretty unusual compared to a regular Indian buffet. Fish and goat dishes are great. I always complain about Indian desserts not being interesting. They offer different options like the pineapple custard. Place is packed for lunch so come in early. It's also for $20 so can't beat that. read more

FINALLY got to try and it did not disappoint. I'm not Indian, but all the other customers were, so I immediately knew it was gonna be good. WHAT AYCE Indian food from northern and southern India: chicken, fish, lamb, vegan, appetizers, desserts (plural!). Delicious! We tried stuff that we might never order in a regular Indian restaurant. COST $25 weekdays $28 weekends is VERY REASONABLE to me for a place that has no limit on what you can consume. We went on a Friday night, no time limit for us, but if they are super crowded I can see how they might put a time limit. FOOD 10/10 I wish I took a picture of the buffet line but I didn't want to be weird. There were so many choices, and several dessert items too, including soft serve ice cream, this place is a gem. This review is for the weekend lunch buffet. Indian Sizzler has a clean interior and many different options for their lunch buffet (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian). The lunch buffet comes with dosa and naan automatically and it is brought out to your table. I got a little bit of everything and for the most part, each item tastes fresh, hot, and seasoned. My favorites were the naan, dosa, fish curry, briyani, tandoori chicken, and saag. They also have fresh chai included in buffet price. There was also a dispenser of sprite soda, but the carbonation was lacking given that it was sitting in a dispenser. Service was efficient in clearing plates, although sometimes too efficient as I'd sometimes still have small pieces of food that I was still working on and they'd clear it. We were asked around 2 or 3 times about ordering a drink despite kindly declining the first time, and the subsequent times thereafter. One of my biggest complaints is the time limit though. This place does get busy and I understand setting a time limit for the lunch buffet as I'm sure they don't want people to linger for too long. However, for $28 per person, I feel like a 45 minute time limit is too short. I can't say I'm a rapid eater nor a slow eater, but it felt like with this time limit I couldn't converse with my family and we just had to keep eating to make the most of the buffet itself. Not many renovations as you enter half the old bar seating area is the area in which their buffet is displayed. Alot of display's of happy hour promotions, catering, pricing which none reflected on aspect of the business or the other (website). Friday afternoon is apparently considered a weekend buffet even though there are many business's around for a quick biz lunch. So we were charged the 'weekend buffet' pricing per person. Around $28. The buffet is on the massive side. Northern, Southern and probably a couple other regions of Indian food. It's rare I get a Indian buffet with so many options. Was happy sambar was available, medu vada, idli's. But also tried out some dishes never heard of. Upon seating we were brought both naan and dosa. Coconut and tamarind chutney was a nice surprise also. Chicken option and fish were done well. I can't remember exactly what recipe as tried a lil taste of many, but the point is they cook their meat and fish well with great flavor balance. There were a handful of goat options also. Never had a chickpea salad like they offered nor bitter gourd pickle! Loved that chickpea salad. Came to Indian Sizzler at the request of the sister for her birthday. She had recounted the last few times she had gone here, her and her SO food coma'd so hard. It was no wonder she wanted to come back. Located along Great America Parkway, Indian Sizzler has taken over the old Bennigan's. Inside has plenty of booths with the middle section for the huge variety of dishes. There are even drinks like soda and chai offered on the bar counter. Our party of six got a corner booth and headed straight for the buffet. Their lunch buffet is a reasonable price too! Everything we got was super delicious. Wow what a feast we had! Everything was fresh and delicious, I was very impressed by the quality. I was worried because the serving dishes seemed small but in the end we were all full and satisfied! This was our first time coming, we were a party of 4 and decided to order a couple of dishes. We went with the bread basket, palak classic with paneer, bhindi amchuri, butter chicken, vindaloo chicken and lemon rice. Everything was a hit, I'm so happy we went with the bread basket, I was able to try an assortment of delicious, warm bread. Everything was so full of flavor and tasty, creamy sauces, the rice was delicately flavored with lemon and complimented the meal perfectly. All of our dishes were mildly spiced and even our most pickiest of eaters was able to handle the spice level. I believe this restaurant used to be Bennigan's (R.I.P) and the set up was very reminiscent of the layout. There were several booths and a nice full bar. Service was friendly, and the ambiance was quiet in a casual setting. This is a restaurant I highly recommend and I can't wait to go back to try their other dishes and weekend buffet! read more

I'm back in the Bay Area now, returning from Vegas. Glad to be back in a familiar area. I came to this Indian restaurant on the advice of a local on my crew. He said it was a fantastic Indian buffet, he ought to know, he's Indian, I dunno if he's born there, but he knows Indian food. The name of this place gives me memories of the Sizzler Steakhouse of old. Maybe they should have picked a different name. Indian Sizzler is located on Great America Parkway, just north of the 101. You can only get into the shopping center where the Sizzler is located from the north (southbound), so if you're coming from the freeway, you need to make a U-turn at Mission College Blvd. and go back to the driveway for the restaurant. The price of $25 for the buffet is the most I ever paid for an Indian buffet, but this has gotta be the fanciest and biggest buffet of this kind I ever saw. Tons of dishes, most of which I never heard of or tried. The place was very clean and the service was good and quick. I have my faves of Indian food I guess and I don't try too many other things, but I know what I like. It's the Tandoori chicken and tikka masala over that Basmati rice. The rest of the dishes are just a little too strange for me. Oh well, I guess some people are like tat at Chinese restaurants ... there's a thing "too authentic". I got lots of the tandoori and naan. One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the area - the butter chicken is to die for. I also love the saag corn and matar paneer, and the fact that hot naan and dosa are served at the table. There are about 8 vegetarian dishes and 8 meat dishes, including various curries. Dessert consists of about 8 dishes also. The homemade chai and Fanta, also included in the price, are appreciated. Service is always friendly and polite, and we never feel rushed to leave. Ambiance is relaxed, with Indian music and relaxing videos on the TVs. I love how many options they have, both vegetarian and non vegetarian, with at least 15 options. By far the largest selection of Indian food I've ever seen. Service was fine, dosas and naan are delivered to the table as part of the buffet. Also, they had quite a few options for desserts. The downsides are that some of the dishes were delicious, others were just ok. I felt as a whole the restaurant was quite overstimulating. Because there were so many people and so many things going on at once, it was a bit hard to relax and enjoy. They had a good selection of beers and had bar seating as well, which is something I've never seen for a buffet. Mutton Pepper soup was spicy and flavorful and one of the best in South bay. Other than the soup, loved the chicken sukka, tandoori chicken, podi idly, chicken 65. They also serve great naans and masals dosa as part of the buffet and had 4-5 types of dessert including kheer, custard, ice cream, lychee halwa. The ambur chicken Biryani was relatively on the bland side a docking a point for that as going just for that could cause you disappointments. We love Indian Sizzler, we go more often than is good for our health probably, but it's soo good. Sometimes that wait can be long, we have waited up to an hour with a larger group of six people. Just go check in at the front desk and they will either seat you right away, or take your name down. The restaurant is nice inside, and they also have a patio. The food is served buffet style, and the line starts at vegetarian entrees, then meat ones, then curries. Soups, sambal, chutneys, salad, desserts are on a separate table. The line is not always efficient when there's alot of people, but the staff does a good job of keeping the trays stocked. Naan and Dosas are served by the wait staff to the table, which is nice most of the time. Sometimes we have been asked what we want when we sit, but most of the time they just bring something randomly. It's usually delicious though. The only problem with this is that sometimes we don't have any naan until we are mostly done, or we never get a refill. We've taken a bunch of our friends, and highly recommend it for those looking for Indian food. read more

Came here recently with some friends - dinner buffet over the weekend was $28/person. Love that you get a mix of northern and southern food. Dosa and naan were served fresh out the kitchen! But since it's fresh it takes a while to come out. The naan was also crispy but i prefer mine a bit more fluffy/bready. Huge selection of choices from curry to briyani and my friend is vegetarian, he said its a good selection. I actly thought eggplant curry was one of the best. Indian Sizzler has been my go-to whenever the craving for Indian food strikes. We usually go for the weekend lunch buffet, which can get really busy. The restaurant is decently large inside and has the option to sit outdoor too, so you get seated fairly quickly. Service is attentive, they bring out dosa and naan to the table and you can ask for more whenever you run off. I love their garlic naan, so flavorful and pairs so well with the curries. There is a huge variety of Indian dishes here - I like being able to sample a little bit of everything then coming back for round two of my favorites. I really enjoy their spinach saag and butter chicken, so I usually get seconds of those. The fried fish is also really delicious too. I will say though - the biryanis are really spicy and that's coming from someone who does eat a lot of spicy food, but they are tasty. Good selection of buffet items. When it comes to Indian food, I'm a lightweight. I don't touch lamb or goat, but their vegetarian, chicken, and fish dishes were delicious. If I could load up on their butter chicken alone, I would. Indian food is quite heavy so although this was a buffet, I only had one plate of food and a few dessert items. They have a dessert and salad station. I enjoyed their fruit cocktail. It was different than the usual one served at other buffets since they used a mango puree mixed in with the fruit. They even offer ice cream at their dessert station. The restaurant was packed during the weekday lunch hour and I had a very tasty and filling lunch. Foods are fresh and pretty good! We came in the week before the Super Bowl weekend, it was still chilled. They do have several tv screens, I think. We enjoyed the several variety of foods. Some are vegetarians and some with meat. I especially enjoyed the goat stew at the very end of the table. And also the snacks and the desserts. I like the condiments they offered which are fresh yogurts and the mango chutneys, tamarind sauces and others. . You can ask for garlic or stuffed naan. I think they offer you lassi, I don't remember if it comes with the buffet. But we always go for the buffet instead of al a carte . I came here with my son for the first time a few months ago. We got here early to avoid the crowds. It has lots of seating and just as big of a buffet with many items to chose from. It can get very busy so coming sarlier it better. However those waiting seem to be seated fairly quickly since they have lots of seating. The food was very good! Everything was hit and fresh. The only thing was that everything was fairly spicy. I'm used to it with most items but wasn't expecting it with some items but still very tasty. 5 stars all the way to the best Indian buffet right now in the South Bay. I came earlier today during 1pm and my experience was fantastic. It was super busy of course due to the 49ers game across the street but the crowd consists of all ethnic backgrounds and lots of families. It gets crowded quick so make sure to arrive early to secure a seat. I sat at the bar and enjoyed their goat stew, butter chicken, freshly grilled tandoori chicken, and buttery garlic naan. Their biryani was also delicious along with their fish stew; meat was tender and sweet. The goat meat dish is my ultimate favorite. It had lots of flavor and meat on the bones. This paired beautifully with their naan. I also enjoyed some freshly brewed chai with sugar. For dessert, I enjoyed the gulab jamun, jalebi and flan. I wanted to try more dishes but I wanted to aim for my classic favorites first. I'll be sure to always come back and try more! This is by far the best to me. Their service is great; lots of employees walking around cleaning and refilling, etc. this restaurant is clean and tidy. It feels like I'm at a legit restaurant. I was told that this was once a Sizzler, the OG.  Now due to changing faces of the neighborhood, it is Indian Sizzler.  I have fond memories of Sizzler so I am going in with positive expectations. Service - Even though it is serve yourself style buffet, I felt the staff was helpful by delivering water and bread, clearing away our used plates, welcoming us to linger and chat after eating, and also allowing us to pay individually. We've been here three times and today was definitely the worst. They charge same for veg and non--veg buffet but at least there's normally a decent variety of veg options. Today, veg there were three different types of rice and (rice) idli podi, only leaving a few veg options that weren't just rice. Plus, the other times they had an additional table with some like pav baji but today nothing. So we basically paid the same as our non-veg friend but we ate mostly rice and dal.
