1 star= Not good Ordered a Thali set (combo) This was ordered by my dining partner for us to share as it staTed it good for 2 ppl. But when unpacked, it looked it was more for one hungry person. it had 1 cup of lamb curry, 1 cup chicken curry, 1 cup of rice, 1 cup unfilled salad, 1 gulab jamon in syrup and soufflé cup of raita and 2 half rounds of plain naan. If it's for 2, how come only a single gulab Jamon. Also it states 2 curry's and 1 masala, but it was missing 1 of the proteins. This was the description: "Chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, naan, rice, raita, dessert, and salad typically compose this non-vegetarian thali for two" $27.50. Special instructions field was not operable as we woukd have asjed for mild and we were ok with the spice. it was between mild and medium. We both had a warmth over out beings and reached fir the raita to cool our mouths. My dining partner didn't eat much and got a really bad stomach ache. I didn't have a stomach ache bc I did not have any of the items in this Thali set. With my dining partner getting a bad stomachache, missing one of the proteins in the order and the minimal dessert of one when it's described as a set for two people. My partner shouted a strong zero. 0/5 Since I thought the combo above would be enough, I ordered garlic naan, it also came into half circles. Naan was thick and very dry. It reminded me of Greek pita bread but with scorches from a clay oven or skillet. Im used to get getting a green and reddish dip sauce but not from this restaurant. A la carte garlic naan iis $ 4.50 person naan. 2/5 In addition I ordered mushroom matter/mutter @ $14.50. This was very different than others I've had. At other pl all, whole mushrooms. But in this container, it barely had any and the mushrooms were sliced thinly and swimming in masala sauce. It was more saucy than it's contents. I felt like perhaps it was the end of the night and they were running low on mushrooms and peas. It was more a 1/5 . Needless to say, I would not recommend this establishment based on this experience. read more

They have a wide variety of indian sweets. Like many other similar stores, you can mix and match different kinds of sweets. I would put Bangladeshi sweets on top, but these are not bad either. The staffs were also welcoming. read more

Recently visited Kabila Sweets before Diwali, and I could very much tell that it's one of the more popular sweet shops in the bay. That parking lot was mobbed and people were scrambling for their diwali sweets! I half expected their supply to be sparce the day before Diwali but it was the opposite! Anticipating the demand. They had 4 long tables with trays of fresh sweets to choose from. You could put together your own box and thankfully they enforce wearing gloves. It was easy to walk in, grab a box and some gloves, pick what I want, pay and go. Will definitely be back the next time I have a mithai craving. The standouts for me was their gulab jamun and their paan sweet (dont know the name). Every single piece was delicious though :) and the sweets didnt dry in the fridge. read more

We found what appeared to be a sewing needle inside a chicken samosa from this restaurant. On May 25 around 3:30 PM, we ordered food to-go. When we got home, my wife bit into a chicken samosa and immediately felt something hard and sharp while chewing. She pulled what looked like a sharp sewing needle out of her mouth and understandably panicked. We immediately contacted the restaurant. The employee we spoke with was polite and offered to refund the samosa, but honestly, that misses the point entirely. A refund does not address the seriousness of what could have happened here. If my wife had swallowed that needle, this could have resulted in severe internal injury or internal bleeding. This was not a small piece of bone or food debris -- it was a sharp metal object. What concerns me most is the complete lack of urgency and ownership from management. We asked to speak with the owner and were told they were unavailable. We called back again on 5/26 hoping to discuss the situation further, and still have not heard from the owner. For something this serious, that response is incredibly disappointing. The bigger issue is this: how does something like this even make it into a customer's food in the first place, and what safeguards are being put in place to ensure it never happens again? That is what customers deserve to know. We are extremely grateful this did not end in a medical emergency, but this situation was absolutely unacceptable. I rarely leave negative reviews, but people should be aware of this incident, and ownership should take it seriously enough to address it directly with their kitchen staff and operational processes. read more

This visit, I ordered the Chole Bhatura and Mix Paratha. Both were flavorful and comforting -- exactly what you want from authentic Panjabi food. The service continues to be excellent. This review is based on my overall experience with Kabila over the years. Most of my visits have been to pick up Indian sweets from them, mainly during Indian events and festivals like Diwali, Holi, etc. Their Indian sweets are probably among the best and most authentic you can buy in the Bay Area. Our family loves their Pedhas, Rasgullas, and Gulab Jamuns! Even their snack items, like samosas, are made fresh and are pretty good. We've been meaning to try their regular lunch/dinner food and finally got the chance yesterday (Doordash pickup). We had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Punjabi, and Shrimp Pepper Masala. The chicken and lamb were good. The Shrimp Pepper Masala was a complete miss. It was made with the same base sauce as the chicken dish and was nowhere close to what Shrimp Pepper Masala should taste like. I'll stick with the usual familiar North Indian dishes next time. A friend got us jalebis from this place around Diwali time and they were just wow - thin, crispy and right amount of sweetness. After that we have been here multiple times and I can safely say that this is one of the best Indian sweets places we have explored in Bay area so far. Everything is always fresh. New find clean service amazing sweets however some possibly made from oil than butter. We ordered galub jamen, Rasmali, variety of other sweets. Milk cake needed to settle it was hard to enjoy broke easily, rasmali same patties were too soft broke easily. Papri chat amazingly delicious. Would love to visit again and try other dishes. We're so glad we came across this amazing Indian restaurant on our way back to Sacramento from the Bay! We ordered papad, chicken and fish as our app and then naan, a chicken entree and Raita. OMG it was all delicious! I'll let the photos speak for themselves. My 3 year old LOVED the food and honestly we could not have been happier with the customer service. We ordered samosas and spring rolls which were drenched in oil. Even after I padded them with paper towels, the potatoes stuffing was still extremely oily. And speaking of their spring rolls - they were the frozen ones; the ones you can buy at Costco. The guy told us they just added the spring rolls on their menu so we thought, these would be "Indian" spring rolls. Honestly I think this was one of my best decisions in life to drive from San Francisco to try Indian food at this gem of a restaurant. I can absolutely vouch for their good food and trust me it will make your heart very happy, this place felt like I was eating Chole Bhature in India. We got the Aloo Tikki Chaat, mind blowing honestly. What flavour, so crispy and we couldn't stop eating. Every bite was heavenly. My husband got the Chole Bhature and he was in love with what he ordered. The Bhaturas were so crispy, I have such food back home only. I got the Goat Biryani and I genuinely have no words for it. Everything was so good, it thought I was in India having all that delicious food. I have tired a lot of Indian restaurants in the Bay Area but this one blew my mind and made my heart the happiest. We were really craving Indian food and I wanted to pick something up on the way home. They have an impressive menu and a lot of different options I don't usually see at other traditional Indian restaurants that I frequent in the area. I ordered the garlic naan, butter chicken, bhindi masala (okra), and the karahi goat (came out to be about $58 total before tip). My order was ready by the time I arrived for pick up and it was still piping hot. The butter gravy/curry that came with the goat was outstanding in flavor. There were small chunks of bell peppers and onions that melted in your mouth. The butter chicken and garlic naan were also solid and tasty. I love a vegetable on the side and usually it's hard to find something that isn't curry based or pureed down, so I didn't know what to expect with the okra but it was definitely a great addition to the meal. The okra was sauteed withe spices, onion, and tomato and still held a bit of a crunch. I ordered it to be mild spicy and it really held it's flavor well. Definitely impressed and I am excited to go back and try some other things on their menu. They are also known for their popular sweets and desserts that I didn't get to try this time, but will next time. read more
