I've been to a lot of catered events here & the food is always solid.

Went here with my bf for the lunch buffet and overall liked the place. The decor is clean, with linen table cloth, wall murals, and newer looking furniture. The buffet doesn't have a large selection but was pretty good. We had some of the tikka masala, dal masala, tandoori, mixed veggies and a few other things that we were not sure what they were. I liked mostly everything, they had a good level of spice and flavor however the tandoori and naan were nothing special to me. If i was in the area and someone wanted to go I would go back but there are so many indian buffets that i would like to try some of the other ones out there. read more

Tried the $10+tax weekday lunch buffet here. Definitely one of the worst buffets I have ever had. Other than the naan that they bring out fresh and the salad that they don't have to cook, all the food items tasted stale. Tandoori chicken, pakora, chicken biryani, aloo gobi everything was tasteless. They had a yogurt based eggplant dish that was so sour it tasted like it went bad. Its difficult to fathom how someone can screw up something as simple as dal. I was promptly on my way out after paying when the host asked me if everything was good! Couldn't hold it back anymore, I smiled and politely told him how unremarkable the food was. At that point he had the audacity to tell me that you won't get anything in $10 anywhere :-) Now I am working on a list of all $10 bay area buffets that are better than this one and give it to him. Chandni is your place to host all events! For the past many years I have attended numerous events and luncheons at Chandni and always appreciated the food, service, decor and the convenient location. It's literally right off the freeway. They have a vast variety on their menu but I personally like their Tandoori Chicken and Goat Korma. They have halls of all different sizes, perfect for weddings, birthdays, seminars, socials, etc... I recently got the opportunity to work with Chandni for a few events (including this past weekend) and I have to say they are AMAZING! I give them 5 stars because I am all about quality customer service and they know what that means. I have to admit that I was one of those clients who kept coming back with questions and the team always addressed them; which took off so much of my stress. They make you feel special and work with you to make your event the best. The management team was extremely nice and accommodating to our needs. They gave us many ideas and suggestions on what to and not to include at our event. More so, they worked with us to stay within our budget and still made our party look fabulous. The decor was just beautiful!!! We walked in and felt WOW! I've done events at many other locations and no one has been as accommodating, professional and efficient as Chandni. We've already booked another party this year with Chandni and am excited to see what they'll prepare for us. Friends invited me here for a weekday lunch. Environment is nice, clean and neat. Naan was big and good, liked it. Selection was kinda limited, not many items you can choose from. And meat was only chicken. One chicken dish was very good, was marinated in yogurt and baked in clay oven. Not dry and very tender. Flavor wise, it is should have 3.5 star overall. Some good items, some ok-ish items. They also have chai tea. Not impressed, but is a good place to go for simple Pakistan meal. And include tax (without tip), it is about 11 dollars. read more

I have been there for 2 marriage reception parties, decoration and hall is awesome. But i am completely disgusted with the food, it is really bad. I got sick both time i had the food there. Snacks served are so bad, fish and tandoori chicken i was really sick after eating, looks like what every is left over is dumped in the reception parties. I have told my family if we get any invitation from our friends for Chandni we are not going there. Now thinking about chandni food makes me puke. My husband and I were just there for a buffet around 8pm and they were still open...on a weekday! Very nice inside. Looks almost intimidating because it looks fancy but they take in all kinds of customers despite of what you're wearing. People there are very cordial and it was first class service! Very professional, smiles, anything you need they'll get it and they do it so promptly too. If you don't know what you want, this is the place for you because you get to pick and choose from the buffet, so there wouldn't be any unpleasant surprise. Good food at good temperatures with good quantities (as it was buffet), nothing to write home about, but it was tasty! The chicken biryani was a pleasant surprise and done very well. Good flavor and not over cooked rice or chicken pieces. The samosas and pakoras were crispy, warm, and very tasty!!! The chutneys must have been good because they kept running out it seems! We were there for a party, the halls are amazing.Good size, good bathroom, easy for getting dressed there too. The bathrooms were promptly cleaned and kept up through the event. The staff were very helpful although the hall was a little warmer, could be all the extra people. Nice place, definitely will be back again! read more

Amazing food and the gentleman,Mohammed, who helped me and my friends, providing us with cups,plates,napkins,etc. in order for us to have a great meal in the middle of a pandemic was amazing! Came here twice for lunch buffet dur ing the week, and really liked their delicious goat biriyani, chana dahl, tandori chicken, fresh salad, etc. Their desserts are really good and my favorites are kheer and goat cheese malai. While I like all regional Indian food, I particularly like their Northern Indian and Pakistani dishes with great flavors and quality ingredients. The buffet comes with really tasty unsweetened chai with milk you can pour yourself. While this is a buffet style lunch, the owner/manager's waiting services are excellent and attentive, and made me feel welcomed. My colleague who introduced me to this place said that they offer more variety of dishes in their buffet on weekends, and their dinner is really good. This is now one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the SF Bay Area. read more

Last night went to weeding dinner. The food was very bad I could smell the chicken and the goat meet in there biryani. It had no taste I left the full plate on the table. The servers who refill the buffet trays had no manors and respect for customers they would just push you to get a space to refill there trays. We had a Mehndi party for our daughter over there. Tasty food was served at the right tempreture.They made prime rib which was very juicy and tender. Sameera did very colorful decoration .She has been very polite and cooperative. I think they should have a decent size room where bride can get ready. So I been to many events at CHANDNI and I love how classy there halls are! The food is amazing and the customer service is great. I booked my wedding here and I can't explain how Samira made everything simple and smooth. My food was a great menu that my family and I with the help of Samira picked it out we choose appetizers to main course to desert. My hall was so clean so classy everything was perfect. I love the location the staff the food that after my wedding my cousin is now booking Chandani for her wedding!! We did reception of the wedding of our elder son at Chandni Banquet Hall in 2012 and the Wedding Ceremony and Reception of Wedding of our younger son in 2014. Awesome service, very courteous managers and staff. Very Good food. Complete guidance and help on event management without appointing Event Manager. Samira Sarwat was too good and very cooperative. She worked with us within our budget. Did not do any pushy selling and yet gave us excellent quality. I would highly recommend Chandni for important events and big parties. read more

Decor is is creepy! Main dining room feels like the interior of a coffin! Food quality is grossly exaggerated. Greasy, overcooked, overly spiced, cheap ingredients on and on. I attended a buffet. Obviously, you serve yourself. Restaurant staff only gets you water/drinks and buses your plates. No problems there. Get this - they added 25% mandatory tip to the bill. We saw the owner hanging out in the dining room and decided to make our views on the gratuity known to him. Owner, admitted that the steep gratuity helps his bottom line because it is hard for him to charge any higher for the buffet! I could not believe what I heard. This person basically takes the tip money and adds it to his bottom line. I am no lawyer but this sounds like a violation of labor law and theft from employees. read more

I am Pakistani and I've been to Chandni so many times I cannot count, for grad parties, weddings, buffets, etc. When I was in LA, I also visited its sister restaurant. In fact I had my wedding reception here, give me a chance to explain the 1 star. We went to a similar restaurant in Pittsburg to see if we wanted to hold my reception there and then we went to Chandni. My parents chose Chandni based on our previous experiences and based on the buffet food we ate the weekend we employed their services. First thing first, I wasn't super excited because when we walked in and said we wanted to talk about throwing a reception here, we were told we had to wait until the bosses, or whomever handles that part of the business came back. Guess where they were, eating brunch right next to our table, super professional, no? Couldn't they have talked to us while we were eating, or at least introduced themselves? Wouldn't that have been a great opportunity for them to show they were eager for our business? Anyways, when they were done eating and ready to talk to us, we all walked into their office, but there was a super huge TV that took up so much space, there wasn't enough seating room and our party did not fit into their office. Furthermore, when we walked into their office, we were there first, waiting to talk to someone about throwing my wedding reception here. However, the people who walked in right after us were not only served first, but we were told we needed to wait outside while they were served. We think this is poor customer service and typical of what we see in our desi community: don't serve the people who were there first, but those who are the most pushy :( Then my parents, uncle, my two siblings and my fiancé and I, the people who are the most important people in my life, sat down and talked about the services, the menu, amount of food, latecomers, cost, when the money was due etc. We liked some of the things we ate at brunch that day so we made sure to include them. My parents signed the contract and we were set to go. My family is a very by the books people, we made sure all the t's were crossed and the i's were dotted. Based on the size of our party, we we given the room in the back, and in my opinion it was one of the better looking rooms. The ceilings and overall look of the place is not super classy, wish they would make some much needed renovations. Anyways, everything was set, and then it wasn't. First, we had a date by when we needed to get the rest of the money in by, but we got a really rude phone call weeks in advance demanding the money! This was not professional, very jarring, and we felt like we did not know who we were dealing with anymore :( (The only reason I am stressing the professional thing is because on their website they stress they are "stylish professional service...." and our experience shows otherwise!) Then comes the actual wedding reception day, and second, we performed salat, but not in the way it should have been performed because we could hear the crazy music through the walls shared with the next room. Third, there were latecomers (Pakistani Standard Time) and we were told regardless of time, if there was food, latecomers would be served appetizers. However, Chandni staff refused to, even though there was enough food to serve the latecomers. Forth, the potatoes, that we all were so looking forward to, were not there, even though we specifically requested them. Fifth, the rest of the food was mediocre and cold when we went to get some after our guests had already been served. Sixth, Chandni staff made a super huge fuss when we insisted we take home the food we paid for, but didn't eat, imagine that! Seventh, the cake table linens provided were not even ironed, all the other linens provided were spotted and wrinkled, and the chair covers provided did not fit the chairs all the way to the floor. Honestly, save yourself the trouble and cater your next party at the restaurant in Pittsburg that we passed up. Interesting story, the girl who did my makeup was right across the street from Chandni, but she was going to her cousin's engagement party at the restaurant in Pittsburg; telling, no? read more

Horrible place. The Salir dude has so much attitude!! He acts as though he is the President and is letting us in the white house. He made us wait for 20 mins and then says "Ok lets us go in the office quickly". "Quickly?!!" we were the ones who had been waiting. We did not taste the food but it looked only average. We were planning a baby shower and were looking at 40 people. The dude says if you can guarantee 45 people "the we can make an exception" of course since it is a white house banquet hall after all with a protocol for "exception". He wasn't even willing to show us the place!! It looked gaudy at best I would give this place 0 starts if I could. Don't plan a party here. If you insist, do so only if you are ready to lose all your self respect. read more

I recently had my wedding at Chandni. My parents very much wanted to have it there, so I went along with what they wanted. I am Pakistani/Afghan and my now husband is Palestenian, but we are both American-born people, so we had no idea if Chandni was going to be the right choice for all of our guests. Chandni has a variety of packages for events/weddings. They include food, venue and decor in one reasonable price. From the initial meeting to the final meetings, Chandni staff was professional and very accommodating. Sahir was always prompt in answering all my questions and did everything in his power to make sure our day went smoothly. Samira (design coordinator) did a beautiful job designing the stage. She was very patient when we were trying to determine the table and room lay-out. On the day of the wedding, the room looked lovely. I was actually surprised at how pretty everything looked--the stage was colorful, the centerpieces looked very pretty and the chairs really lit up the room. The aisle way looked great, as well--with the columns and walkway with flowers. The appetizers and food came out on time; the dance floor was big enough for our large party. The only issue was that the food was a bit spicy for our mixed guests (American, Middle Eastern and Desi crowd). However, depending on your guests, I would imagine Chandni would attempt to accommodate whatever level of spice you would like. My guests had a wonderful time at the wedding. Everyone complimented the décor and how big the room was. I would definitely plan another event at Chandni. read more

My first visit to Chandni was fabulous, I had the buffet which included lots of vegetarian options. The chicken tiki masala was also very flavorful. I ordered the wheat roti bread and it I'd not disappoint! Oh and the hot milk tea was great to have post lunch conversation with. If you're looking for a great place to host your next party or special occasion, this ain't it! Don't expect a response to your phone calls or emails for any event inquiries because this place does not value your time. I made the mistake of giving them my business when they did finally respond after several weeks but it was only out of desperation that we chose to go with them. Management was rude, unprofessional and not very friendly to deal with on several instances. You pay for a certain number of buffet guests and if a considerable number of those guests don't show up the restaurant doesn't let you take the food home you already paid for and they take the food back to the kitchen which is absurd. Had a wedding reception there. The event organizer Samira Sarwat wasn't very helpful, seemed like she was uninterested, it's ok we are only spending $30K-$40K no big deal! Lol. On top of that everyone told us she does event decor and she told us blankly she doesn't do that anymore which was a lie because she was posting her decor work all over the social media. Won't chose this restaurant ever again and would never recommend it to my family or friends. Aroma in Milpitas is better and so is paradise ball room if you guys want better service. read more

I am a very picky eater and was scared to have to eat something out of my element. This place has VERY good food. The flat bread, I could eat all day and the chicken was really good too. I went for dinner buffet/iftaar.. The food is ok(or below average) for the high price(14$).. Also the food does not seem to have lots of variety for dinner buffer(ifaar), as what it can be. It seems to be lot better for weddings or birthday partys(in the hall next to it) The service, ambience & parking is great. I am comparing it with mehran in el camino (santa clara), which offered magrib , wadhu etc.. (and had lot better food for the lower price) read more
