We engaged Shawn of Great Wall Termite Control late 2024 to prep for a move and as suspected we had dry wall and subterranean termites. Shawn and the team at Great Wall Termite Control were fantastic, easy to work with, honest, and compared to the other quotes very cost competitive. Most of the other companies were pitching orange oil or the equivalent of that, and you never know if everything was addressed with that type of spot treatment. Some of those firms even said, 'watch out for firms telling you to tent your home' they do that to rip you off. Not True! I wanted piece of mind that if there were active termites they'd be dead in the ground and in the walls. Dean, the estimator came and thoroughly inspected around the house, in the crawl space, and attic and declared that the termites were just isolated to that area of the window in the bedroom. That was a huge relief. He returned the next day to treat the area and there is a 1 year guarantee. This was the result of a complete termite inspection that they conducted at our home (2 story dwelling) and quote for repairs two weeks ago. We had comparable quotes from two other termite companies, and although Great Wall was not the bottom quote (they were in the middle), we had a level of confidence in the company during our discussions about the repairs needed -- their expertise and recommendations. The repairs were great, performed promptly, seamlessly, and professionally: excellent and prompt communications before, during, and after repairs; excellent quality of workmanship; clean-up; etc. They also surprised us with a lower bill than originally quoted, since they ended up performing less work than they had expected/quoted. My son found subterranean termites flying around our staircase the other day. I thought it was just black dust on the staircase, but when it returned after vacuuming I knew something was off. But seeing those insects flying around inside the home was quite frightening and disturbing! Very professional and polite. I've never seen someone do such a thorough inspection. He was able to locate where the termites were coming from and a treatment plan. I have nothing but good things to say about Great Wall Termite Control even though (LUCKILY) I did not have any termites. I reached out to them several times regarding inspections both on my former home and my new home. They were professional, timely, extremely on top of their game in terms of scheduling as well as doing the work. We all know things happen, but when things do go wrong, they are on top of fixing and repairing or remediating the issue. I had an attic door that broke during inspection and they promptly scheduled to come back and replace it. Good as new! I like that their reports are clear, they spend the time to explain to you as a home owner what you should care about, what you can put off, and what you need to address immediately. I appreciate the candor as often times in home buying & selling, there are a multitude of things you need to concern yourself with and no one has unlimited budget. I recently contacted Great Wall to address issues with ants in my new home and they came out promptly to do the work only two days after I contacted them about it. In my original review I stated my intent to update my review after tenting was complete. I scheduled my tenting to coincide with a trip with my children to Disneyland; thus GWTC & the tenters they use needed to be self-sufficient. I got a call from the tenters a few days before the tenting to cover what to expect in detail. During the call we discovered a few preparation steps I had missed and that the tenters would need to handle beyond what I'd normally expect of them. Upon my return, everything was in good condition--no damage and even some perishables that I should have removed but missed had been found and sealed in doubled bags. If I try to think of what could have been better, I cannot think of anything, so I'm sticking with a 5-star rating. read more
