Unfortunately this place got a C! We got seated, but the worker gave us an attitude about grabbing a high chair, then no one came to take our order for 15+ mins. We patiently waited and were about to order then took our kids to use the restroom and small a small cockroach..... so we decided to just leave pretty gross. We used to come here. a lot when it was DFC before but not sure what happened to this place. Prior visit, when we ordered the curry beef stew, came out in the smallest bowl ever hardly any curry sauce! Don't think we will come back here. The food was amazingly great. Although we would like our soup more hot not warm. Everything was seasoned well and not salty except the steamed pork dimsum. Beef chow fun and the fried rice were delicious, both dishes have very good "wok-hei". Crispy pan-fried flounder was also delicious, good crispy outside fry with the fish still being soft. There's some soy sauce beneath the fish, but I'd like it to be served on the side so you can dip your fish pieces. Braised crispy tofu was good, tofu texture was very soft and the 3 delights (shrimp/fish fillet/octopus) were fine. Price $$ - Price is good for the portions that were served. The plates might look small, but they have depth. Service 3/5 - Service is average, we needed to flag down a server to refill our drinks. Ambiance 4/5 - Interior is good with Chinese themed decor. Good solid place for Chinese food. They have alot of classics from wonton noodle soups to hong kong baked sauce dishes. I had the grilled pork chop with rice and black pepper sauce. Pork chop had a nice sear and was well complemented by the lightly spiced savory sauce. My wife had the claypot rice with black bean sauce spare ribs, which was also pretty good. There is a 25 minute wait for the claypot dishes, but the crunchy rice bits made the wait worth it. Staff speaks cantonese and had waters and extra bowls and dishes ready for us. Restaurant is surprisingly spacious and is a decent location. There was plenty of parking here even though Costco is right across the street. read more

I have eaten here now, three times when I'm in the area of Chino Hills. But I'd never come here for breakfast before and the experience was great! They have a special menu for breakfast with plenty of combinations you could get which include aside and a beverage, including milk, tea ended up getting a congee hot dish with a side of rice, paper rolls, and a milk, tea and everything was delicious! The value of the meal was really good as well. The seating and ambience of the space is very comfortable and it's not too loud. For some reason, this Tasty Spot Cafe is "tastier" than the other locations and I would say this the best Chinese/Cantonese restaurant in Chino Hills. If you want to hit your protein goals, they have a buy 1 half chicken and get another half chicken free deal ($24.99 for 1 half). We got one half soy sauce chicken and one half white cut chicken. The white cut chicken here is excellent, probably the best I have eaten in the states, and it's comparable with the ones I've eaten in Guangzhou, China. Their Taishan-style cauliflower is also a veggie dish we always get here. Plenty of seating inside for families. read more

It's my first time at this restaurant. I've been to other locations with the same name. The restaurant name is Tasty Spot but the menu has Delicious Food Corner on it. I ordered J1 and J2 breakfast combo for takeout. J1 is the HK sandwich with Spam Macaroni in soup. I chose the corned egg sandwich. Tasted ok but stingy with corned beef. Macaroni was nasty, even tho they packed the food and soup separately, but the macaroni was all saggy. J2 is the instant noodle and HK style bun with butter (aka pineapple bun). We got the satay beef noodle, taste about right. However the pineapple bun is the worst I ever had in my life. Even my son (8y.o.) noticed the difference and didn't eat it. Plus the restaurant was not busy at all, only 2 tables of customers but the takeout order took about 20 mins to come out. It's been several months since my last visit. I honestly kind of forgot this place existed-- the name is so generic I always forget what it's called. I always thought it was called Delicious Food Corner, but it turns out that's a whole 'nother restaurant in Diamond Bar... Oh, but it turns out they are actually multiple locations of the same franchise, just with differing English translations but identical Chinese names for the restaurants... ok, my head hurts now. The food is as good as I remember, and the menu doesn't appear to have any new additions to it. They may have tweaked a few of the recipes or gotten a new chef. Looking back at my old pictures, the salt and pepper calamari, my usual go-to appetizer, has a different look to it now. The new version was served with bright orange garlic salt. It tastes basically the same but looks more attractive. It was dim sum hour, so I also had to get a little steamed brown sugar cake for dessert. I really enjoyed how floofy it was. Very mildly sweet, which the older Chinese people in my party loved. I've got a sweet tooth so I poured the tableside condensed milk and syrup all over it, effectively making me a war criminal in their eyes, but whatever... They are running some promotions that they have posted on the wall. I vaguely recall the same deal for the chicken when I first visited, so despite it saying limited time, there's probably no rush. read more

My original and last updated reviews were for Delicious Food Corner. They have now changed their biz name to Tasty Spot Cafe (TSC). From what I was informed by one of their employees is that only name has changed. Food, staff, and service are the same as before. My youngest daughter wanted a couple food items from this spot. I placed the order via phone yesterday. Got their shredded pork chow mein crispy (very tasty!), wonton egg noodle soup (fairly decent!), and Taishan cauliflower with fish fillet (delish... they were able to substitute the Chinese sausage with fish fillet... thank you!) I arrived here in late afternoon almost early evening. My order was ready upon arrival. The nice gentleman who took my order was the same person who collected my payment and handed me my order. He remembered to ask me if I needed to order anything else... I ended up not getting anything else. Thank you sir for remembering! This TSC is the closest location to my house. However, I'm not in the Chino Hills area almost every weekend like I am in the SGV area. There are a few more TSC locations out in SGV than in Chino Hills. I came here mainly to try their pork knuckles, it was okay. The wonton soup was also just okay. However, the standout for me was the classic egg waffles. They make them fresh to order and they come out perfectly crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Totally worth it. The restaurant was pretty busy when we went, but it was still clean and well maintained. Plenty of seating as well, which makes it a good option for bigger groups or families. read more

I had tried Delicious Food Corner at other locations, but this is my first time trying the Chino Hills location. Compared to other Hong Kong cafe, the food here is just average. The beef and scrambled egg over rice was very disappointing. The portion of egg and beef were small. There were only a few pieces of beef and it was still reddish. The meat quality was low. Don't recommend it. Just because of this I'm afraid to order other beef dishes. The vegetable dish was average. The combination can hardly go wrong. My friend really enjoyed her Baked pork chop w/ tomato sauce. The bowl looks large but the bowl wasn't deep, so the portion was kind of small. Compared the price with the portion of the dishes served, I think it is pricey. The interior design is nice, great place to dine out with friends and families. The service was alright, some attitude was better than others (so really depends on which staff you have). I told her I prefer egg noodles as the choice on the menu. She look down to the floor and ask me 'you want just the soup?' Came for dinner on a Saturday night at 6pm and was seated right away. I was surprised that it wasn't too busy and that the whole other room wasn't even being used for diners. This place appears to serve some dim sum items for dinner along with their dinner menu. Fave items we got were the egg waffle and egg tofu and assorted mushrooms. There other dishes we got were just okay: crispy chow mein with gravy, eggplant and pork hot pot, and chicken cutlet with black pepper sauce. Many items were a bit under seasoned. There's an extensive menu with all your HK cafe classics, and because of the location, I'll probably be back to try some other things--but if you don't live that close, Tam's Noodle House or Alice's Kitchen are better (I'll edit this review if I have a better experience next time!). They're running a special on the steamed chicken, which was tasty and a good deal (about $25 for the whole chicken). Unfortunately, the other items left a bit to be desired. Their peanut butter french toast has very little peanut butter in the middle. It's the thinnest layer that you cannot even taste. I also ordered the seafood curry, and while Chinese curry is generally a little thinner than Indian or Japanese, this was WAY too thin and practically had the consistency of water. Ordered to-go the Baked Sole Fillet with Spinach in Cream Sauce as recommended by the server, and said, a lot of customers order it so I decided to try it. I chose rice over spaghetti noodles and honestly, wasn't impress. Portions of the fish over rice were small. The rice proportion was too much, drenched in creamy gravy-like sauce and melted cheese. Crispy chow mein with seafood - 3/5 They use a slightly flat noodle that doesn't crispen up as well. Sauce is good and the seafood overall is neutral tasting. The squid they add are smaller than your pinky nail. Beef Chow fun - 4/5 Well seasoned, dark, the flavor of wok hei comes through. For the first time in an Hk cafe, I had to resort to the chili oil to add flavor to curry. It also arrived lukewarm. I also tried a taste of the baked seafood pasta. The shrimp came straight out of the freezer without defrosting. The outside was overcooked while the inside was not hot. The tilapia pieces were mushy for the same reason. Skip this location; drive another 10 and head to the one on Golden Springs Dr. Edit: revising this from 2* to 1* because somehow, the airplane food I had after this dinner on a China Airlines flight from Ontario to Taipei was better than this meal read more

We were there Saturday at noon. We were surprised that there were only few customers. We ordered seafood chow mein and beef stew wonton noodles soup. The chow men have 4 small shrimp, few pieces of squid and fish fillets and a lot of noodles. There was little soup on the wonton noodles soup so we have to ask for more. The soup tasted bland and the soup is warm not hot. I guess that's why the business is so slow. Unlike before it was crowded during lunch time. Perhaps they changed ownership. Just for the record, I am a fan of the Delicious Food Corner chain, but this location has inefficient and understaffed service. My mom and I came by for breakfast and there were empty tables, but the hostess and cashier was also the one clearing and busing tables, so she waited to clear half the tables in the restaurant before she started seating people again. I feel like there would be a better flow for the kitchen staff if she sat 2-3 groups at a time instead of make everyone wait to be seated all at once. We waited for about 30 min. We waited as long as groups of 6 and 12. Even after we were seated, it took them a while to come and take our order... anddddd then even longer to prepare the food. The food also came out randomly. For instead my mom ate her whole order and a side order before my food even came out. Also our table didn't have the sauce wheel all of the other tables had. And they gave us plastic containers instead of bowls even though folks who came after us got the bowls. Discriminatory service. For my mom's primary dish, I ordered the J5 Grilled Chicken Steak with 2 Eggs and Toast ($14.95) which comes with a drink, and my mom opted for hot tea. She also likes wings so I got her the A11 Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings ($12.95) and a K7 Steamed Garlic Spare Ribs ($5.95). I went with the J8 Pork and Preserved Egg Congee ($13.95) and opted for the Fried Noodle as the side cause my mom wanted it. It came with a drink which I opted for the Iced Lemon Tea. I added a side of G9 Chinese Donut ($3.50) to go with my congee and a A3 Thick Toast w Condense Milk and Butter ($6.95). Great portions and affordable in this economy. I love Hong Kong Cafe food. We stopped by the Delicious Food Corner for a Breakfast / Lunch . It is located off Peyton in the same plaza with Costco next to the Costco gas station. I always get the usual , minced pork with egg over rice- $14.95 and the Sizzling Chicken Hot Pot: $17.95.But since they have the sizzling plates menu and the chefs special menu. Why not try something new. I orders the Mixed Grill on Sizzling Plate with black pepper sauce $24.95- this is huge portion you can share with 1-2 people. It comes with pork chops , chicken steak, beef sirloin topped with crispy crinkle cut French fries on a HOT cast iron plate. The black pepper sauce tastes very well with the meat and fries. I also picked a dish from the chefs menu, Fried Shrimp w/ Preserved Vegetables $20.95- the shrimps are well fried but it was a bit too salty for me. But it paired well with the preserved veggies.
