I was in the mood for dim sum and I saw the posting for Happy Together in Chino Hills. I have had another location for Happy Together recommended to me by a friend, so I went. I was not disappointed. The location I immediately recognized as a house I have been to many times in the past, but under at least 2 different banners; I think "Plus 1 Dumplings" was one. I ordered a combo plat of roast duck and roast pork, an order of chicken feet, shrimp and pork shau mai and a chive and pork ball (I forgot the name but not the intense flavor!). All plates were among the best I have eaten anywhere and I believe they were all made to order as they came out over a period of time and not all at once. The flavors were superlative and the price fair. My entire meal came to $40 and I was sated. The wait staff was friendly and the restaurant itself was clean and cheery. We've been regulars here because the food is genuinely great, but after our experience today, we won't be coming back. ​When we arrived, we wrote our names down in the sign-in notebook at the front and waited patiently. Soon after, multiple parties walked in, bypassed the list entirely, and were seated right away. I approached the host stand to check in, and the staff simply asked, "Did you put your name down?" to which I said yes. Right after that conversation, yet another party walked in and they were told to write their name down, and the staff immediately scratched it off and seated them on the spot while we were still left waiting. ​It's extremely disappointing to see long-time customers treated with zero regard or basic organization. First time trying this restaurant, and I was honestly surprised by how small the place was at first. But don't let the size fool you -- their menu has so many options. Stopped by today (Sunday, 02/15/26 with my parents to celebrate Chinese/Lunar New Year). This was our first time here and upon arrival, there were a bunch of customers inside waiting to be seated, waiting for their to-go order, waiting in line to pay the bill, etc. I waited in line and then asked for a table of 3, and they directed me to sign in on the paper list, which I did. I wish there was a better way of seeing that list because I really had no clue and waited in line for nothing. The wait time honestly needs better attention. We probably waited around 20-25 minutes. It was very busy that day, and I'm not sure if it's because it's the weekend and/or due to Chinese New Year. Staff members are shuffling back and forth and are quite rude to be honest. I get that they are stressed running around, but still.... Anyways, we ordered the following via online (scan the QR Code on the table, that is probably better since they are too busy to take your order): - 1 shrimp siu mai (4 pieces) = $5.99 - 1 shrimp dumplings (we got 4 pieces instead of 3 per menu): $5.99 - 1 steamed BBQ pork buns (3 pieces) = $5.99 - 2 sticky rice wrapped with lotus leaf (4 total) = $13.98 - 1 yang chow fried rice = $15.99 - 1 seafood with pan fried crispy noodle = $17.99 SUBTOTAL = $65.93 TAX = $5.11 TOTAL = $71.04 ** Place $10 tip via cash ** We received our yang chow fried rice and crispy noodle timely, however it took a REALLY LONG TIME for us to receive the rest of the orders (the dim sum aka yum cha order); I had to ask the front how long the wait will be, otherwise we will cancel - the lady ended up checking and we got some of our orders. Stopped here for lunch on our way back from Corona, first time visiting. This HK-style restaurant is conveniently located off the 71 freeway. We were greeted and seated right away. The place was busy! We ordered the 1/2 Coconut Crispy Chicken, a two-item combo (roast duck & roast pork), beef chow fun, bean curd roll, and salted fish & chicken fried rice. The crispy chicken and roast pork were the highlights. The coconut flavor in the chicken was distinctly noticeable, not overpowering, but unique and delicious. The roast pork had the crispiest skin with juicy meat. The fried rice and chow fun hit the spot. The bean curd roll was mushy and bland. I had high hopes for the roast duck. The skin was good, but some pieces had a strong mineral aftertaste. It didn't make my "favorite duck" list. Service was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and responsive. I realllly like this place. It's hard finding a dim sum place in the inland empire with the shrimp rice noodle rolls so I decided to give it a try. The shrimp noodle rolls were spectacular. Tasted so fresh and well balanced. I could eat just that and be happy. We tried a bunch of their other dim sum dishes and everything was good! Popped in for the first time for a Valentine's Day dinner and we had no wait and were able to be seated right away. We ordered beef chow fun, shrimp siu-mai and half order of the Peking duck. They also said, "Our servers make $17 an hour plus tips, and in America no one works for free." There was no mandatory gratuity or service charge listed on the bill. I understand tipping is customary, but I felt uncomfortable being pressured into increasing my tip after payment. We then waited inside the restaurant so we would be able to spring to the lady when called. Finally, we were seated. Looked around and noticed the family that made a fuss to be seated early had been seated and was in the middle of their meal. This restaurant needs a be way better system when it comes to managing the waitlist. At the minimum, no line cuttings should be allowed or tolerated. read more

The food was very good! Everything that we ordered was great and we even planned on coming back and thinking about what we wanted to order. The one thing that was very disappointing was after paying and asking for a to go box, the server took the soup to pack for us but left the other dishes for us to take out. This was very odd as the other 2 dishes were not a lot. It could fit in 1 small container. The soup on the other hand was almost full. We barely ate any. When the server came back for our packed soup, it was only 1/2 of the container. My husband and I looked at each other in confusion. My husband asked if it was our soup. Maybe the server has mistaken to take someone else's to go and gave it to us instead. The server replied that it was the hot and sour soup. I wasn't going to eat someone else's leftover. Simply the best HK style Dimsum and resto. I would even say the best Siumai in SoCal. It's fresh and very tasty. The Peking suck is always a hit and one of my faves. I have been wanting to try this place for months. I usually go next door to the sushi spot and always notice a several people going into Happy Together. I did not enjoy my visit here and I will not return. Our server was pleasant. However, the service was just mid. Nice lady, but, she wasn't very enthusiastic about the menu offerings. She was seriously hesitant to answer any questions or make a simple recommendation. I ordered the two item BBQ combo with soy sauce chicken and BBQ pork. It came with white steamed rice. I asked her if I could pay extra for fried rice and was denied. The chicken was not good. It was full of bones. I asked about the bones and the lack of warning and they said that's the way they serve it. I was promised that the pork was indeed boneless and it was not. The BBQ pork was dry and not flavorful at all. The pork was advertised as boneless, and yet I bit into a bone. I literally only ate about 20% of my plate, and threw the rest out. The server should have noticed this, but did not. Feeling fortunate that I didn't get hurt or have a bone stuck in my throat. read more

The food was very good, although communication was a bit challenging since the staff spoke very little English. The restaurant is always busy, which says a lot about how popular it is. Next time, I'll try to arrive right when they open to avoid a long wait. If people are willing to wait for a table, that's usually a good sign that the food is worth it. read more

Both husband and I were disappointed with their pork char Sui , it had a tough texture , not tender and dry inside. Yeah , maybe I had a bad batch, but I wouldn't recommend pork char siu from my experience. (it tasted like it was sitting in the fridge the night before and reheated the next day.) We did like the roast duck had great flavor The snowy leaves cooked perfectly , seafood, crispy noodles stirfry and shumai was equally delicious. Service it was mediocre they're not as attentive and we did have to ask for water, refills & napkins. From the look of the waiters facial expression, she wasn't too keen in replacing my husband's soil plate upon his requests. She brought over a clean plate, but it was more of a look of annoyance. The restaurant looks small upon entering, but is quite spacious towards the back I don't think it can really accommodate large groups gathering most of the ceilings that I've noticed are booth style table seatings. Real good food at Happy Together and they also have a nice variety of dishes. Some go-to items are the roasted pork, beef chow fun, and salt and pepper pork. They also have a number of dim sum items if you're feeling Cantonese brunch items. You can't go wrong. I recommend avoiding coming here during holidays. They can get real busy and I don't think they're set up to handle big rushes. On Father's Day, I placed a phone order and was told 30 min for pickup. It ended up being over an hour which means I was waiting at the restaurant for a while to get the food. After speaking to a nice lady who was also there for over an hour, she was monitoring their process and thinks they cook orders in bulk rather than a FIFO approach. This leaves many people waiting for their food until the chef gets enough orders of the same item. This might be a good method for the restaurant but leaves customers with a subpar experience (if indeed true). Either way...please work on getting orders out faster or consider underpromising and over-delivering instead of false timeframes! read more

I knew from the peking ducks hanging at the front door and the auntie that greeted us that this place was gonna be amazing. You order on your phone and the food comes out shortly after. The cucumber salad was refreshing with a nice balance of flavors. The Peking duck was perfectly crispy and juicy, and the daikon cake was a crispy, savory treat. Didn't want to drive to SGV for the usual Chinese BBQ, found this place in Chino and gave it a try. They have limited Dim Sum dishes but it was good enough selections. They also have roasted duck, Peking duck(not sure if you have to order 24 hours in advance or not. Didn't look like it on the menu.). Roasted pork belly, char Shiu and chciken. They also have frozen dim sum to take home as well. The roasted meats are pretty decent and same as the dim sum. They have my favorite salted egg yolk lava steamed buns so I'm quite happy with it. We went and got the half duck which the waitress said was more than enough for 2 people and she wasn't wrong. The duck came with steamed buns and was very good but there were quite a few pieces that were all bone with very little edible meat. That said it's a fantastic deal for the price and the was very good! This was our second time there and their dim sum is also above average especially their shrimp rice rolls and lotus sticky rice. The service was quick and attentive and it has a very family owned type of vibe even though I don't think it is. Side note they have unlimited refills on their lemon tea which is also tasty.
