The first thing I enjoyed was the casual atmosphere. I had walked out of a very traditional dim sum restaurant just yesterday because of how stifling it made me feel but this place was comfortable. I liked ordering through the QR code, it was very easy to find what I wanted, place the order, and pay. The food was very, very reminiscent of my childhood growing up in NYC's Chinatown. Absolutely delicious, the portion sizes were pretty big and the prices were reasonable. Lastly, the service was great. Food came out quickly and hot. The man who assisted us was attentive and kind enough to give us discounts and pineapple buns to take home! I will be recommending this place to my friends and family :). read more

You order via a QR code on table which is convenient but I noticed that not all items on new menu were offered on the website. With the QR code option being an easy ordering process it wasn't an option to pay via the qr code. Food came out quickly. All the dim sum standard choices are offered. Everything we had was good but I wouldn't put them in the category of great. It satisfies a craving, it's quick service, and conveniently close. As a returned customer, I visited Tasty Dim Sum House today again. While the food is fine, the service experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. This restaurant uses a QR code system where you scan, place your own order, and input everything yourself. The only interaction with the staff is when they drop the food off at your table. Because I handled the entire ordering process myself, I initially selected a 12% tip, which is standard for minimal-service QR setups.The waitress looked at the receipt, confronted me, and explicitly demanded that I tip "at least 15%," claiming it was a "California requirement." Not wanting a scene, I adjusted it to 15%, only for her to then tell me that I "tipped too little (bad in her own words) To be clear: California Labor Code Section 351 states tips are completely voluntary, and there is absolutely no law mandating a minimum tip amount. Furthermore, California servers make the full state minimum wage before tips. Being lied to and pressured into giving a higher tip for zero tableside service--and then being insulted afterward--is highly unprofessional. Management needs to address this dishonest behavior immediately. read more

My family and I enjoyed a great meal at Tasty Dim Sum on a Sunday afternoon. It was our first time trying it and we were not disappointed. The wait for our party of 4 was about 15 minutes. The food came out pretty quick and was delicious. It's a smaller restaurant so it'd be great for to-go orders or a quick meal. The servers were friendly and efficient. We asked one of them if some of the items we ordered contained milk due to an allergy and he answered no, but also went to double check just in case. We appreciated that. We felt like dim sum on a rainy day so we found this little gem on Yelp. They had good reviews so we wanted to try them out. I grew up eating Hong Kong style dim sum so I am very picky with my dim sum. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who sat us at a table. There are about 10 tables inside to sit and eat there. You can also order for pickup. The restroom and restaurant is kept very clean. You order by scanning the QR code. They do have a good selection to choose from. We got the usual items like shumai (pork dumplings), har gar (shrimp dumplings), pork spareribs, chicken sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves, bbq pork buns, egg tarts, and I had to try the beef stew rice noodle soup. The server was very attentive to us while she took care of 4 other tables on her own. You do have to pay at store and not on the app when you're ready to checkout. The food came out fast and it tasted fresh. Portion size of the items are great. The bbq pork bun dough was a bit mushy to me. I like when the bun is fluffy and soft. The egg tart was perfect and not overcooked. The shumai and har gar was delicious and huge. The chicken sticky rice was very yummy . The spareribs were a bit fatty but had great flavor. The beef stew rice noodle soup was not my favorite. The beef stew was tender but it lacked flavor and the soup needed more flavor. Overall, we are happy we found a dim sum place that isn't too far from home and we don't have to drive down to OC or LA to eat. First time dining here, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The dumpling wrappers were completely overcooked and fell apart. We also waited a very long time for our noodles to arrive. The whole chicken was served without a knife--we were only given a pair of scissors. At the very least, a small knife should have been provided. What surprised me the most was the takeout service. When we asked to pack the leftovers, we were simply handed a plastic bag and expected to pack the chicken ourselves. There wasn't even a takeout container, nor did anyone offer to cut the chicken into smaller pieces before packing it. I've honestly never experienced takeout service like this at any other restaurant. I understand the restaurant was busy and possibly understaffed, but the service was virtually nonexistent. The overall environment also felt disorganized and not very clean, which made me question whether proper hygiene standards were being maintained during such a busy time. The food itself was okay, but nothing memorable. Unfortunately, the poor service and lack of attention to basic customer care overshadowed the meal. Food was excellent! I got the crispy roast chicken! Omg it was juicy and the skin was perfect! The sauce was perfect with it. I also got the steamed pork dumplings, very good! The beef rice noodle was just ok, great texture just a bit lacking in flavor for me, personally. We also got the eel sushi taco, that was so good! The service was above and beyond! They always filled my teapot promptly, they lit the chicken on fire(what a show!), and they gave us complimentary pastries for dessert! The inside is clean and simple but comfortable. I walked in and was seated right away as I arrived early to catch a flight. I received the service I am used to at dim sum locations - no one came over to ask for my order. Instead they have a QR code that sends the order to the kitchen which, as I observed others flagging down the staff must not have been a hit. It is very efficient once people get used to it. Food is good but my last interaction here was disappointing and I'm not sure that I'll visit again. I placed an online order and after getting home, I realized one of my items was missing. I called the restaurant and they said they ran out of the item. I then asked for a refund which they agreed to, but never refunded me. Finally checked out a dim sum place in chino hills! We ordered pineapple egg custard bun, bbq pork bun, fried seaweed shrimp, and shu mai. Our favorite was the shu mai since the pork had so much flavor! The bbq pork bun was not bad but wish there was more meat filling inside! The seaweed shrimp order was a bit too oily for me but first bite was good, so if you like fried stuff it is good. The pineapple egg custard has a nice taste as well but I wish there was more custard in the inside. It was interesting that the filling contained pineapple though! I would've given zero stars if that were an option. This was an incredibly frustrating experience. I placed a to-go order and was told it would take 20 minutes. After waiting 45 minutes, my food still wasn't ready. Meanwhile, several customers who arrived after me received their food before I did, including one person who ordered the exact same item. They told us to scan the QR code for menu and thats how we placed our orders. They don't have a complete dim sum, but the essentials were there, shu mai, har gow, baked lava bun, baked pork dumplings, steamed spare ribs, and spicy wontons. They didn't have a crispy noodle and some items were already gone. We also tried ordering the flat noodles but it never came out. We had great experience dining in here. The standout for us was definitely their pineapple buns with custard filling, which are hard to find with real pineapple chunks these days. I usually only take out from this place since we are near by. I called in on Sunday at 1:12pm to place an order for take out, we got there around 1:40pm. We were on our way from somewhere going home and didn't want to wait an additional 30-40 minutes which it typically takes after ordering at the restaurant. They were so swamped we didn't leave with our food until 2:25pm. I'm not sure what happened.. First time I've experienced such long wait time. We ordered the following: - 2 shu mai - 1 har gow - 1 tripe - 1 bbq bun - 1 shrimp rice rolls - 1 beef ribs Unfortunately, all of the items that came out were room temperature or cold and not steaming hot. I was confused because the items didn't taste bad... they were just weirdly luke warm and not enjoyable. In addition, we were charged for the bbq buns but we didn't receive it.
