We arrived and were seated right away, and a waiting crowd gathered outside as the evening went on. FRIED FISH FILET WITH SEAWEED: 4/5. While it was a little bit oily for me personally, the fish inside was super flaky, and the batter was really crispy and savory. BEAN CURD WITH PORK: 5/5. The best version I've had of this dish, period. There was something incredibly addictive about how savory and balanced it was. Textures were on point, too: super tender, not rubbery at all. SHRIMP WITH SCRAMBLED EGG: 5/5. The eggs were so soft, creamy, and delicious, with plenty of shrimp in and under the egg. BASIL FRIEND EGGPLANT: 5/5. Yes. This is the flavor I'm looking for when I order this dish. Deep, basil-forward flavor that permeates the eggplant and onions. MUSHROOM AND PORK BELLY HOTPOT: 5/5. Did not want to drive to the Panda Inn in Ontario this afternoon so tried out Happy Kitchen for a takeout order. My order was ready within 20 minutes, packed very nicely. Ordered the tangerine chicken, Mongolian, beef, and egg flower soup. Got home in about 10 minutes and the food was still steaming hot with no leakage because of their quality packaging. My wife and I loved the food, very large portions. I learned that this place has been here for sometime, but I had never been here, but will be back, the food was excellent and I'd highly recommend for anyone looking for a Chinese food fix. read more

Every time I pass by Happy Kitchen it is full of people and you can smell how delicious the food is all the way next door! The all the food was fresh, you could tell they make it to order. Tangerine Chicken was probably the best I've had, it came out really crispy and sweet. I'd want it a bit spicier but that's just me. Chow Mein had a nice tender noodle and great flavor, not too dry. Came here with my parents for dinner because they have been raving about the soup! To be fair, the pork hock and chicken soup was very flavorful and the highlight of the meal. I'm just left standing there waiting and waiting, with zero communication about how long it's going to take. You can tell this place is authentic, just based on the staff, vibes & people eating. The menu is huge, they probably have every Chinese dish you could think of. We ordered the tangerine chicken, beef fried rice, chili oil wontons & fried dough with condensed milk. Tangerine chicken: 4/5. It was crispy, tangy, and a HUGE portion. A slightly less intense flavor than orange chicken, which I liked. I wish it had a little more kick / spice though. Fried rice: 3/5. The fried rice itself was pretty yummy, but the beef was kind of a letdown. Didn't really feel cooked all the way/ not tender. I would prob get the chicken fried rice next time. Fried dough: 3/5. By initial bite I was blown away, it was super soft and pillowy yet crispy on the outside, perfect complement with the condensed milk. Kinda tastes just like fried doughnuts without the toppings. However I think I can only eat max 2 before I feel sick. Wontons: 3/5. They were bad, they weren't good. It wasn't spicy enough so I had to add more chili oil, and it just didn't have that kick flavor that places like DTF does. But it did satisfy my cravings!
