She was so nice and helped me figure out what would work best for my hair and gave me ideas for future styles (aka what to do if I wanted to grow it out, different colors, etc!). This hair salon is great if you want highlights...But unfortunately that's not always everything I want with my hair. The first time I got a cut it wasn't what I asked for but just a little trim, no side bangs like I asked. When I had her dye my hair from all the blonde highlights to brown there were parts of my hair missed and not dyed. ( I ended up dying my hair myself ) The second time I got a cut, I decided to go very short (I had long hair) and about 10 inches taken off. My hair was put in a pony and chopped... I wanted side bangs and lots of layers and what I got was what looked like a crooked A-line grown out. It's been 6 weeks and I am still trying to grow my hair out enough to go get it fixed. One side of my hair shows chopped layers and the other side none. The back of my hair is so uneven I have to excessively curl it inward to make it go as unnoticed as possible. As far as the bangs, I ended up fixing what she had done. Very disappointed. My first couple appointments for the highlights I thought I had finally found my hair salon. read more

So last week I went to Changes on a spur of the moment haircut. But more like a hair chop. I called in earlier in the day and Monica was more than happy to schedule me as her last client of the day. Upon arrival I'm greated by first name although I had never met her before. Definite plus. Monica sat me down and asked what I was looking for. I showed her a picture, voiced my concerns regarding my round face and an a line bob and she shared her ideas. I was willing to go with the chop off of about 10 inches. I took my almost-twelve-year-old daughter to Rebecca at Changes 2 weeks ago and we are both STILL delighted with her haircut and the experience! Rebecca took time to really look at the photo's my daughter had and talked directly with her about the look she wanted. She then cut my daughter's hair EXACTLY as she had asked for. But, when it was done my girl decided she wasn't all that crazy about the style- so Rebecca cut it all over again in a different style - again, after consulting with my daughter. The end result - from bushy, shoulder length hair - is a sleek, stylish short 'do' that looks fabulous even without the styling tools that Rebecca used! I have never been so pleased with a salon experience and look forward to taking my own mess of hair into Rebecca later this month. She is a warm and kind person with a great knack for cutting hair!! This is a great hair salon. I just moved back to town and was looking for a quality salon to atleast make me feel comfortable like they do in The City. Having thicker than normal hair and beings typical male, I am always a bit apprehensive of trying a new place. I was a walk in and that didn't seem to phase the lady in charge. The salon must be well recieved as it was busy, busy, busy. I had the sheer luck of Monica being my stylist. I am sure she could sense my nervous apprehension and walked me through, step by step, of what she had in mind for my hair style. Monica was professional and timely. The typical salon banter was soothing to me as I was timid to be around soo many beautiful women! I was expecting double the price for the hair cut as I would expect at any salon in The City, but was pleasantly surprised that i was only spying $30 for a quality hair style and shampoo. I am extremely disappointed with this place. I have called trying to make an appointment for haircut. It went to the answering machine so I left a message asking them to call back. No one returned my call for more than a day. I called again the next day and someone answered. When I asked for any available time, she said she had to shampoo hair for a client and will call me later. I waited and waited but still no one called to set an appointment for me. If they don't accept new clients they should just say so. Why they keep letting calls go to answering machine and said "your call is very important". I don't think they really think clients are important. Perhaps they only restrict to old clients. read more

Monica is wonderful! She got me in right away for a cut (which needed fixing) and color. She really listened to my concerns about my hair. First, I have always had trouble with dye soaking into my skin at my hairline -- she made SURE that didn't happen, and she's colored my hair twice now. She also added really pretty highlights and long bangs per my request this last cut -- and the result is great! Just what I wanted, even though I wasn't quite sure what I wanted when she started. Now THAT is a professional! She is super-competent, but also friendly and funny -- a really lovely person. The salon is spotless and pretty and relaxing, and the price is right, too!
