Carlos is so awesome!!! Not only were his tacos and corn amazing!!! He is such a sweet person, very friendly, very warm. You almost feel like you have known him for years. You can tell he loves what he does. Everything was made to perfection, ready on time and tasted amazing. He took care of everything. He/his crew (fam bam) set everything up, cooked, served, packed the left overs (in containers he provided!!!) and cleaned up everything. I had a party of 50 people and I had 3 meats, Asada, chicken and carnitas. Ok first of all the best asada ever. Tender, flavorful, juicy. The chicken was delicious as well. But the carnitas.... everyone loved it. Not dry, not bland. The best carnitas Ive ever tried. Now the salsas, they brought variety. I haven't had a green salsa that was not Spicy in years. This guy is legit. You can tell he loves what he does and is a true people person. He and his daughter arrived for our event and he was on point with timeliness and diligence. He was courteous, professional and a damn good cook. Personality: Professional, yet open and ready to mingle if you so please. People person for sure and we really enjoyed having him a part of the crowd. His daughter was cute to boot, following suit. I recently had to get my work event (200 people) catered and had little to no budget... needless to say, I was in a pinch. Fortunately, I found CHANGOS TACOS and boy did they deliver. Chango's Tacos is the truth we recently threw a baby shower for a girlfriend & hired him to come cater. He showed up early, with all the supplies provided for us. We told him how many people & he came ready! Never once did he run out of anything! (We actually had leftovers which he boxed up & gave us!) We chose chicken, pork & steak. All three were great, especially with onions & his recommendation of adding the two salsas, mild & hot, on top. I had a baby shower event almost a year ago. Why did I wait so long to write a review? I was so upset and disappointed that I decided to wait. Well, the disappointment is still present. I wanted to have the best tacos in such a happy family event. I decided to hire Chango's tacos, it had good reviews and the pictures were great. When Carlos finished displaying the food and salsas is when I knew, I made a terrible mistake hiring this business! The salsas were so plain, no flavor, watery, it look like he just opened cans and poured them in a glass container. The pinto beans looked awful, so dried and unattractive; nobody touched them, same thing with the rice. The meat was awful too, I think he bought the meat in a carnicería already marinated with artificial colors; the beef was red , not a nice red and the chicken was orange, not a nice orange. I was extremely disappointed. When Carlos arrived, we already had a table nicely decorated for him to use. I specifically requested colored molcajetes for the salsa, he just used glass ones. I blamed myself for the decision to hire him. I did not say a word to him. When I paid him, I included a couple of 20 dollars bills, I never received a phone call from him to make sure I was giving him extra money or if I made a mistake. Carlos is a nice person but he is talking all the time, he should be more discrete and dress better for the events. I do not recommend this business at all. I waited for this review to cool down and be as honest as possible and don't let my feelings take over. I don't know why he didn't tried his best, he had enough time to be more prepared and and bring decent food to my family event.thanks for your response. Carlos' set up is really amazing, very presentable. We ordered their horchata and agua de sandía which both were satisfying. I appreciated that there was a black bean and pinto bean option. I only tasted the black beans and I thought they were good...im a picky black bean person since I enjoy my Guatemalan ones but these did the job for my taste buds. I was incredibly disappointed. Although I think the food would have been amazing, per reviews, the customer service and communication lacked tremendously. I scheduled my family reunion event almost 7 weeks ahead of time and just 2 weeks prior to my event, I found out they had taken me off their schedule. I was shocked. They said they sent me a contract via email, which I never got. I reached out to them by voice mail, text, Instagram, Facebook and Yelp, trying to get a contract and told them, repeatedly, I had not received a contract yet and really wanted to receive a call back. Silence from them for 2 1/2 weeks before his wife called me back and said her husband said I was no longer on their schedule. The reason, I had never returned the contract. Once he sent the contract via email, which I never got it, he texted me once asking if I got it. That is when I started responding in every avenue possible, multiple times, letting them know I had NOT received it...I never heard back from them. I was stunned when the wife finally responded letting me know I was not on the schedule anymore. I was so shocked and disappointed and frantic. I now had no food for my event and only 2 weeks, during graduation season, to figure something out. Total Bummer!!! read more
