I came in for dinner based on the recommendation of a coworker, and because the food is cooked using no MSG. I ordered a special which comes with soup and a spring roll with the entree. I think that is pretty standard for a Chinese restaurant (I could be wrong). The pricing was great considering the portion size (enough for lunch the next day). Everything tasted super fresh, and not extra salty the way foods with MSG can taste at times. The service was really good, the waiter was very attentive. The decor was nice and everything looked clean. Their Hot and Sour Soup was FANTASTIC! I'm no expert on this soup, but I it was definitely the best I've ever had. My friend and I had a very odd experience here. We seriously thought we were being punked. Everything we would ask the waiter, which were all very expected requests at a restaurant, she would basically do the opposite or just not do it. when asking a question such as "is there won ton soup on the menu" she would stare at us for about 5 minutes as if we had asked her to recite the numbers of pi. It took us about 10 minutes to order our meal because it was so complicated for no reason, to the point where two waitresses were taking our order at once, and the order was still wrong. They also came by and asked if we were doing okay about every five minutes, which was so odd and awkward. We ended up honestly not being able to stop laughing because it felt like a prank. Last night we decided to have dinner quite late. Driving around, hubby and I finally decided on Chang's. It's been awhile since we had Asian food which we've been spoilt with choices in Singapore. So this definitely proved to be a wonderful pick for us! Despite getting there late, the staff was courteous and warm. They didn't rush us or anything. My Aggie brother's reaction: "This is the type of Chinese food we have in College Station." I should have expected as much from another Galleria/Tanglewood area Chinese restaurant. Wishful thinking had me hoping that a Chinese Café-caliber restaurant would take up residence in the often empty strip center that has seen various eateries close (e.g., Quizno's) and new ones open (e.g., Zoe's Kitchen, Kolache Factory). I had driven by numerous times in the past few years and given that it appeared to have staying power, I thought it was finally time to give Chang's a try. One hour later and still hungry, I truly wish I hadn't. I ordered three lunch specials for three people by carryout: pork chow mein, sesame chicken, and pepper steak. The food at Chang's can be described with a litany of adjectives that start with the letter "D". For starters, there was a hair in the brown rice (disgusting). The "chow mein" consisted of the dried, inch-sized pieces of noodles that kids snack on like chips (dreadful). The only passable items were the ones that restaurants can't screw up: hot and sour soup and fried eggrolls. A wholly disappointing meal. Save your $ and your stomach by holding off on eating Chinese food until you can make a trip to Chinatown. Visiting Chang's in the interest of convenience is not recommended. read more

I have always ordered to go from them and have not once been to the restaurant. I usually order online via their website which is the ultimate convenience. They have a vast selection of Chinese food, my favorite the BBQ Pork Ribs! The prices are very reasonable and they even have lunch specials from 11am to 3pm. I love Chinese food and the staff was attentive enough, but the food was something left to be desired. I ordered the Vietnamese egg roll appetizer and while the condiments were fresh, the 4 little egg rolls were burned with black burn holes throughout each egg roll. The moo goo gai pan entree (chicken and veggies) was tasty enough, but for the first time in my life, I did not eat the chicken because it was like biting into and chewing jerky. The win ton soup was overly salty and the stuffed won ton inside had a gamey taste. The sweet and sour chicken was tough and soggy and had a bad taste to it as well. We ordered from Chang' s Chinese for the first time tonight. Boy Howdy. Am I glad we did! Egg Cu Hung was delicious, rice light but substantial, and Wonderfully Non-Greasy Egg rolls. DELICIOUS! Special thanks to the delivery driver! He managed to weave his way through the horrendous post-Harvey traffic while delivering a glorious meal at a very pleasant temperature. Chang's is my to go place for Chinese Delivery. They pride themselves in the service and quality of food. I have never been in the restaurant however for delivery it is exceptional. The delivery men are always kind and polite as well as the receptionist. The chicken fried rice serves 3-4 people great portions! read more

I ordered beef in garlic sauce (which came with fried rice) with hot and sour soup and a tea. The food portions were small compared to other restaurants that charge similar prices. I asked for them to add mushrooms, and they were out of mushrooms. How can they be out of mushrooms when they are next to a grocery store? I ordered a house platter that came out to be 19.44 ( 2 ribs, chicken wing & leg, 2 Skewered Beef, 2 vegetable rolls, 2 shrimp, and 2 crab puffs) the ribs were the only edible thing about my dish... this is coming from a New Yorker who was craving Chinese and was highly disappointed! The chicken wing was so/so. The skewered beef tasted like some other animal other than the ones that say MOO. The butterfly shrimp was disgusting and hard and there was so much breading and so little shrimp. The crab puffs were so/so. The vegeta me rolls were thick and flavorless! Consistently good Chinese food. We've been ordering from Chang's for years, delivery is always quick and the food is great. My mother-in-law likes to eat-in; that's good too, although the atmosphere is not my favorite. Hot and sour soup is my favorite, Mu Shu pork is delicious, Pork with Garlic Sauce.... All great. Stopped by here for dinner but probably wouldn't return.The food was quick and ingredients seemed fresh, but the dishes tended to be too greasy and also drenched in a lot of sauce which seemed particularly counterproductive given the quality of the ingredients. Dishes also seemed very hit or miss; my party tried the kung pao chicken, mongolian beef, and garlic pork and while I thought the kung pao chicken was OK, the other two were mediocre. The relatively high price point especially in consideration of the portion size does not help matters. There are just much better options in the Galleria area, even for quick Chinese food. read more
