BEST MINI DONUTS (5 stars) Tiny yet mighty. Do not compare mini donuts to the other mini donut shops around San Diego - these are executed differently. Fried fresh and on the spot, crunchy outer layer with a soft inside. Can be flavored to your choice OR eat them plain. And the best part... they are allergen free, gluten-free, and vegan mini donuts! There are a lot of different flavors to get. The one's I've tried so far.... - Raspberry Truffle - Plain - Churro - Cinnamon Roll They are ALL good but something about it just being plain was very satisfy. I love the crunch and basic flavor with a hint of cake flavor in the batter. I wish I could keep this little place a secret but I want them to stay successful and in business. Words can't even express my love for Chani's - a dedicated gluten-free facility avoiding the top 10 allergens. The donuts are perfectly crunchy on the outside and tenderly moist on the inside. no topping required. Tastes like an old-fashioned doughnut mated with a glazed doughnut and they had a baby. Warning: I spent probably 20 minutes figuring out drizzle/ topping combination I wanted for the dozen doughnuts I ordered.. and then after I figured out two of their pre-selected combinations, I created an amazing lemon glaze with vanilla cream glaze to mimic and lemon bar that I would get prior to my allergy. Are you far away and reading this review? No worries, they will ship it to you. Ya'll better believe my daughter who has celiac disease is going to have a sweet treat mailed to her up in Northern California! Oh, BTW- you get a free doughnut when you come in here- just to prepare your taste buds for this amazing adventure they're going to experience!
The absolute most delicious vegan mini donuts I've ever had!! They are gluten free, 2g of sugar, 6g carbs and top ten allergen free! My phone order was ready when I arrived and the staff were so friendly and sweet. Loved how cute and clean the place is. Thank you for my complimentary donuts for being the driver of my pickup order
I've passed by Chani's Donuts a few times and have always been curious, so it was a no-brainer to stop by after getting a sandwich next door. The inside of the shop is very colorful, but also a tiny bit confusing. Luckily, the friendly cashier/attendant explained everything to me and I was good to go after a few minutes. I went with six donuts with a vanilla topping. These aren't your standard donuts. They're about a third the size of a regular donut, so six of them doesn't turn me into Homer Simpson. The donuts were super crispy on the outside and cake-like on the inside. The vanilla topping wasn't too sweet. I absolutely loved these things and I'm looking forward to going back to try other flavors and buy them for friends.
These donuts were delicious! The person at the counter gave us a variety since we couldn't decide on a flavor, and all of them are amazing. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I love that they're small so you can try all the flavors without getting over full. I also couldn't tell that the donuts were vegan or allergen free, they taste comparable to regular donuts! However, I would recommend that the company post their flavors somewhere. I tried to check online before going in and the link seems to be broken. I also checked their Instagram and usually businesses will have a weekly flavors or current flavors pinned / posted but didn't see any. All in all, we will be back for sure!

The two servers were well aware of all the ins/outs of the product and for the most part patient with us as this was our first time there. The one thing we drew attention to was the price of a dozen donuts as the sign outside did not match with what we were charged. When asked they didn't seem concerned with the signage and still charged us what they said was the new price Ambience was cute, setup for how the product started to when it was handed to you went well I said yes because all in all it was a nice time. Probably 3.5-4 rating

Really tasty donuts, small so they're poppable and easy to eat 6-12 in one sitting. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and it's a fun shop with decent seating. I did take mine on a 6 minute car ride home and unfortunately all the drizzle toppings slid right off so the three flavors were pooled together instead of being separate.

Chani's (Shaw-nees) Donuts opened in November 2023 in the Kearny Mesa / Tierrasanta area of San Diego near the I-15. They market themselves as "Allergen Free" meaning no eggs, no dairy, no gluten. Vegan donuts made from rice, sorghum, and tapioca flours. Their menu - mini donuts! Most common is to order a dozen at a time. There are a variety of flavors to choose from. I selected Churro, Cinnamon, Powdered Sugar, Pink Lemonade, & Strawberry flavors. Yum! My friend and I finished the entire box within a day. LOL. Service is friendly & helpful. Ambiance is fun! Small shop with a circus theme. ENJOY!!

Both of their recommendations were AMAZING and the perfect combo. I love using the last donut to scoop up all the extra toppings lol Employees are always helpful and kind! I love stopping by anytime I'm traveling the 15 :)

VERY tasty tiny donuts. Crunchy exterior and sweet and savory. The same kind of satisfaction when you get a churro made just right. honestly it's just as good plain but they offer these different flavors that really bump it up a notch! It's the kind of snack that you devour and didn't realize you ate all of them! I would recommend getting at least 6 donuts per person. My bf and I finished 18 donuts in 3 mins. We're definitely going to come back to this spot anytime we're in this area! read more
Very convenient and it's right by the freeway exit/entrance. Mini donuts were really great! Super crispy outside and the size is small enough you don't feel too guilty eating them lol With single (dozen) order, you can pick up to 3 toppings/flavors. It's a small place so only to-gos. Parkings are shared with the different businesses but plenty. read more

The service the quality of donuts is outstanding. I am gluten and dairy free and comparatively to other gluten and dairy free donuts in SD, this one is hands down the best. Hailey helped me decide on the flavors since it was my first time and she was awesome. 10/10 recommend. read more

All Vegan and GF donuts, top-10 allergen free! Similar to a bakery in Hillcrest, except this one is all about DONUTS! Clean, nice ambience. Very helpful staff, this was my first time here today and staff nice enough to explain the different combo flavors. Basically, they are mini sized donuts, u pick the flavor, they arrange the minis in the box and finish them off by adding the flavored topping. So far, i def like the cinnamon surprise and Love Bug. They are def soft especially when you eat it right away. The only thing is because it is a mini size, i def taste the oil or that the donuts are more oily than if i were to compare it with another shop's reg size donut. Nonetheless, it's worth the drive. I had order the Party Tray 72 count donuts and had them delivered through UberEats for my colleague's birthday. The 3 flavors I chose were strawberry, premium dark ganache and assorted. Everyone raved about how delicious they were. These mini donuts are truly mini and the size match up to about 1/2 a toothpick. Making them super snack-able that company ladies won't feel guilty about eating them. Vegan, dairy free and gluten free thus most people with dietary restrictions can enjoy them. The donuts looked so pretty! I really appreciate that for the assorted flavors, Chani's Donut did give us a good variety of flavors. I was so happy to hear that they tasted as good as they looked. I'd paid about $71 ( $45.94 for donuts + $3 for premium dark ganache flavor + $4 tax + $11 Uber fee + $7 tip). I'm definitely ordering these again at the company potluck but picking them up to save some money on Uber delivery cost. read more

I was driving by and noticed the sign to try a free donut, the draw is that the donuts are little donuts that remind me of going to the fair or to a circus. The employees behind the counter were friendly, welcoming, and were willing and happy to answer any question I had. The inside reminds me of the colors of a circus and the best part, you can watch the donuts being made right there. Will be going back. read more

I wanted to try this place after seeing the pictures of donuts. They appeared to be much bigger on the picture. These donuts are bite size donuts like Girl Scouts cookies. I got two dozens and they cost $22 before taxes, plus a cup of coffee, which added up to be close to $28. It's quite expensive for the amount of donuts that I got. I'm giving them one star for the food since they are fresh and tasty. Another star for the customer service since the owner was taking time to make me a coffee for my liking. Another star for the decor. Some ppl found it scary but some found it unique i suppose. read more

Gluten free deliciousness in San Diego! Wow! We tried 2 dozen with 4 toppings: cinnamon sugar, glaze, chocolate and pink lemonade. All were perfect and although these are mini donuts, if you bite them in half, you cam double-dip with zero guilt. There better than traditional donuts, not light not heavy, just right.The decoration starion is a cute touch. Nice job, Chani and team! read more

These donuts are sooo good and they don't taste gluten free at all! They're really good! And the service was awesome! They give you free samples and the workers are super nice! This is an AMAZING circus-themed allergen-free dessert (donuts, cookies, and more) shop right in our neighborhood-- my family just discovered Chani's Donuts and highly recommend it!!! I have no idea how we didn't know about it before, since it is so charming and delicious (and free of the top 10 allergens, which is great for my kids), and so close to home! They even cater for classrooms and parties. I hope that this unique and awesome dessert shop thrives and stays in our community forever. read more
