The place is close to my work and wish it was closer to home! It's never been open early enough when I worked day shift, but I know for sure I've been here at least 3 times now. I just love this type of family business that knows what they are doing, providing a great product and friendly smiling service day in and day out. So the strong iced coffee is definitely worth getting, I just prefer a special mixture. Which is asking for half and half since it is very sweet without. I even throw a splash of water in it to knock it down a tad. Hardly ever finish the entire cup because it is perky strong.. As for the donuts, never had a bad one yet. And keep in mind these are afternoon visits when they close at 5p and 2p weekends. I've been stuck on the buttermilk bar, but have also had a maple and a regular glazed in the past. I got 1 dozen donuts for National Donut Day and asked them to give me a variety. I got to work and saw they gave me mostly plain donuts and chocolate frosted. Gave them out to my coworkers and everyone agreed there wasn't anything special about these. They honestly tasted kinda old since they were on the drier side. Nobody wanted the leftovers. read more

Still thinking about this place and it's been over a month since we were there! A few days before our last day in town we stopped here before heading to the beach, and omggg the breakfast bagel was amazing!! I just wanted to put an updated review. I've tried their Vietnamese iced coffee and now I have another reason to come here because a donut and iced coffee is a great way to start the day. The maple bars and old-fashioned are still my favorite. Adding to the list I've now also have gone back for cravings of a sugar donut, the pink French crueller, and a chocolate with sprinkles. You really can't go wrong here and it's really easy to pick out some for half a dozen or a whole dozen. The people here are always very efficient and nice. The seating is limited but most people in the area are grabbing go so it's not an issue and parking is always available. This place is family owned and I hope they are around for a very long time because I think they make the perfect donuts in this area. I've tried a few others and this is the best one. read more

I've come here twice now -- once at opening on a Sunday and once around 3 on a Tuesday. On Sunday, we got a box of 6 donuts. I feel like there weren't many donuts to choose from but we got a chocolate bar, maple bar, white with sprinkles, pink with sprinkles, old fashioned, and a glazed. I personally didn't have any problems with these and the price was great! On the Tuesday, I came in for another old fashioned, and the lady gave me three free donut holes! I was in the area and had been craving a donut. I was so happy that Christy's was still open at around 2:30 pm. They didn't have a ton of donuts left but they did have enough for me to make a choice different from my usual apple fritter. I decided to get the crumb raised donut and a blueberry buttermilk. I got my husband his usual cinnamon roll. The crumb donut was absolutely delicious and fresh. My husband said the cinnamon roll was good as well. It's a small shop and it was later in the afternoon ..... but the woman helping me had "No English" when it came to asking questions and the signage wasn't very clear as she rushed me to make a decision. It was no where near closing time and selection was next to nothing, but I felt like she was pressuring me to buy things I didn't want. Which is good I resisted buying more than I did. The glazed donuts were ok and are probably better fresh cooked. The chocolate croissant was NOT chocolate, it was nutella. A substance that is completely disgusting on its own but add it to the thick, dry mess of flour they call a croissant and it's totally inedible. I dropped by this small mom and pop place in the late afternoon a few weeks ago. It's a small, unassuming spot for your coffee and donut fix. I saw that they offered Vietnamese coffee, which is a rare find in a donut shop. Service was friendly and the woman taking my order threw in two extra cake donuts with my order. Prices were pretty cheap and I think there's a fee for using your credit card if the total is under $5. Unfortunately, the donuts were just ok. I enjoyed the chocolate buttermilk loaf, but some of the other donuts I got tasted like old cooking oil, and were quite literally saturated with it. I think just draining them better would improve the taste a lot. The donuts she threw in for free tasted a bit stale, and I think I would have been fine without them. I decided to try Christy's as my (previous) donut shop for decades changed owners. I am so glad this establishment is here. Sedate is the sweetest. So welcoming and happy to see you. I feel like he truly values every customer that walks in the door. He and his wife Moli are the epitome of friendliness. Their donuts are good but I go for the jalapeño croissant with turkey and cheese. It is much larger than expected. The turkey is placed in the middle of the croissant with a few jalapeños sprinkled within the croissant. It could use a few more but if you don't want too much zing, you should be fine. My mom love their blueberry cake donut. I like to order a Vietnamese iced coffee to drink afterwards. The Vietnamese iced coffee is sweeter and not as bold as the iced coffee though both are delicious. Since I enjoy sweet drinks, I prefer the Vietnamese version. I learned to not drink either after 12 pm or I won't be able to sleep that night. I usually end up drinking one over the course of two or three days. Christy's is located in Serra Mesa on Aero Drive directly across the street from Montgomery Field. They have long hours of operation - Saturday & Sunday 6 am - 7 pm, Monday through Friday 5 am - 8 pm. I will keep coming back to support local mom and pop shops like this one. Christy's Donuts is a small, yet friendly shop off of Aero Dr that also sells sandwiches. I came here sometime after lunch on a weekday to try a couple of their donuts. At the time of day I arrived, not much were left, however, I was more than happy to come out with a cinnamon donut and a raspberry donut. The owner also threw in another extra donut on the house. What I like about the donuts here is that they don't leave a weird metallic chemical aftertaste like the ones from the big franchised donut shops (hint: Dunkin' Donuts). Christy's Donuts had a nice balance of flavor and sweetness. I surprisingly liked the extra donut I got even though I have no idea what it's called. It tasted exactly like the Hostess crunch flavored "Donettes", but with a lightly maple glaze and nuts topping. Overall, I thought all the donuts I had were pretty good. Came here to support local business not only because of the covid pandemic but also because they got robbed about a month ago in the middle of the whole Covid thing. I was looking for a place that made sausage breakfast sandwiches and came across Christy's Donuts. The location is in a business park area(ish) and nearby a small airport. The inside of the store is small but has a few tables for people to sit at. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches and got an orange-flavored donut. The sandwiches took some time to prepare as they were freshly made. I liked the sandwiches and they tasted really good. The orange donut was also pretty standard, nothing to write home about. Don't let the fact this place isn't super showy fool you. It might not look like a super fancy donut place but I would recommend Christy's over Randy's any day. Don't get me wrong Randy's is cool but Christy's is the best traditional doughnuts in the area hands down. How can you not give a donut shop 5*?! Lol! These people wake up at 3 am to come to work and start making donuts! That's serious dedication and hard work! This is my 5th stop on the donut pilgrimage. Where's my insulin pen???!? J/k I was looking for a cronut fix but they stopped making cronuts awhile ago because people just weren't buying. Luckily there are plenty of fresh alternatives! I got my favorite Boston cream, and ventured to try a raspberry burrito. But then they threw in an extra plain just to be nice! So glad they did because the burrito was super super sugary and did not have the fluff of a pastry. It was exactly like eating a sweet sugar coated raspberry jam filled tortilla. So I ate it with bites of the plain donut which helped balance out the sugar immensely. As decadently tempting as the blueberry and strawberry flavors looked, I will stick to Boston creams and OG glazed in the future. Super sweet staff and speedy service. This is a Sunday after Labor Day 9AM Across the street from an airport. Lots of parking space in this little plaza. In between a nail salon and a cleans close to a hookah spot. This is your average mom and pop donut shop but I enjoyed it so much that I had give a review. They have a little aviation/plane them going inside. They keep bringing out fresh donuts Food: savory breakfast croissants, bagel breakfast sandwiches, lunch sub sandwiches, hot dogs and muffins(limited). Drinks: coffees, teas, soda, OJ, ice blended drinks(mocha, coffee, pistachio, mango, strawberry, strawberry & banana, cookies & cream, Thai tea, green tea, taro, honeydew and watermelon) Workers are kind and have good service.
