I accidentally found this place while at Ross looking for a lamp. The outside is absolutely fantastic it was very nostalgic to me, I knew I had to go inside. On my way in I'm hoping that they have Hong Kong style noodles (pan fried noodles), it's my favorite Chinese/Hong Kong dish. Not only do they have them it's marked super prominently on their menu. Chan is the man. So I get the noodles to go which isn't ideal but I need to get home. They package them perfectly to go with the noodles in the full box and the sauce and everything else in its own container. Nothing is worse than getting Hong Kong style noodles to go and having them all soggy when you get home. The decor and layout inside is beautiful I would definitely bring a date or family here. The service was great. Someone (who I presume and hope) was Chan came out to deliver the bag he must have known this dish was the bomb and hand delivered it. The shrimp and vegetables inside were quite large and delicious. They did not skimp on the portion. The chicken chunks were quite large as well and the sauce was tasty. The pork was the only thing that needed some work but I'll take it. I'll definitely be back for HK noodles again it's an amazing dish.

Dang. Just had the best orange chicken of my life. Juicy, chunky, full of the right balance of flavors and not too sweet.

I've eaten here a few times and also gotten take out food. Overall, experience has been good and I would definitely recommend them based on the bang for the buck. I recommend ordering their combo meals. There's an option to order the single or family combo. The combos comes with multiple entrees and bbq fried rice. For my take out order, I opted for the single combo No. 2 Son. This selection included wonton soup or sweet and sour soup, bbq pork fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, deep fried prawns, and chicken chow mein. I also ordered mongolian beef in addition to the combo. Service was fast and food was securely packaged. The food is standard and generous portions. Their mongolian beef was tasty and I was able to ask for a spicier version. The hot and sour sour came in a huge container and could easily serve 3 people. The soup was rather light in flavor. The bbq pork fried rice as a little bland and dry. The chow mein and sweet and sour prawns were my favorite. I've also had their honey walnut prawns and they are worth ordering. For dine in experience, I also recommend at least trying it once. Interior is beautifully decorated and there large booth perfect for family dining. They do have a bar and a list of cocktails. Service was excellent.

Shrimp fried rice. Requested no peas and they delivered. Just shrimp.

Chan's Place: A Nostalgic Bite of American Chinese Comfort Chan's Place is what I like to call a classic old-school American Chinese restaurant. You won't find traditional, authentic Chinese dishes here--but you will find the beloved Americanized staples like moo shu pork and almond chicken. It's the kind of spot my dad used to take me to when I was growing up, and honestly, there aren't many good ones like it left anymore. The service is always friendly, and while the interior might feel a bit dated, it adds to the charm and vibe I crave when I'm in the mood for American-style Chinese food. If you're searching for flavors that reflect the culinary traditions of China, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you're after comforting, flavorful dishes that bring back memories of growing up in America, I highly recommend it.

We typically visit Chan's and sit in the bar. This time we had a family group and were seated in the dining room. Most chose the family style meal, I opted for the vegetable curry and soup. The hot and sour soup was spicy and good. The curry was filled with vegetables but did not have the flavor I expected. Probably my taste buds and not the fault of the dish. The family meal is the way to go here.

Chan's place deserves to be a local family favorite. Why? It's reliable, traditional, comfort-food style American Chinese food. The only downside is that there are no substitutions allowed, so I recommend getting there with a plan to scan the whole menu and find something that fits your needs. However, I assume the no-substitutions policy allows for faster service. The first time we came -- we chose the chefs combo special and it was a great way to try some favorites. The tea is delicious and the staff has always been kind. The vibes is nice, clean, and has water fountains that I find relaxing. My personal favorites: skewered beef Treasures of the sea Everything else we tried is good, but doesn't stand out.

Best Chinese restaurant in the area. It's hard to find a good Chinese restaurant nowadays, but Chan's will not disappoint. Great drinks and food. Service is excellent!

Sheesh. Noticed a few typos in my last review. They include a nice fried rice in the lunch specials. Prices finally went up about $1. Still worth it!

We ordered the Moo Goo Gai Pan & the Mongolian beef w noodles plus everything came with sweet & sour chicken. We were there close to 3pm & the lunch cut off is at 3. Seemed more like a buffet than special dishes. Wonton soup was too salty for us.

Ask the Community - Chan's Place

Has anyone ordered the mushu? I'm so curious how they serve it and what to expect!

'Authentic' ingredients, stir-fry comes in a dish, 4 wonderful house made pancakes + hoisin sauce

We love Chan's Place but are there really no prices with their online menu?? We'd like to sit and look it over and then try some new things, but it would really be nice if we had a clue about cost.

They're usually about $10-13 for an average entree, which unless you're really hungry is going to cover two if not three meals. It is frustrating that their menu didn't show price, I hadn't even noticed since I always go in.

We came here last night, and the restaurant was about 60-70% full. The staff looked busy, but they were focusing on clearing and setting empty tables while several "ready" tables were available. We felt like we should have been seated sooner. I'm not sure if this was due to staff inexperience or just the restaurant's process. Then came the second issue: we were told there were no paper menus because they had run out and were asked to order online instead. That's fine in itself, but it added to the feeling of disorganization. During our meal, we asked for an empty bowl. Again, the staff seemed busy, but it took a long time to get something that simple. I could understand if they were overwhelmed, but I noticed empty tables being cleaned and reset while our request seemed to be forgotten--even after multiple reminders. Later, we tried to order more spicy wontons using the QR code, but the website didn't work. Another frustrating point. The food was okay--it's consistent with other locations, which is why we came. However, the beef dumplings fell apart, and all the soup spilled out before we could eat them, which was disappointing. Overall, this was a below-average experience, so I'd give it two stars. I'm not sure if they're still working out their process or are understaffed, but it wasn't the usual Dough Zone experience or quality we've had before.

If you are vegetarian like I am, you MUST get the numbing spicy vegetarian ma la noodles. They are absolute perfection and I crave them all the time! The only thing I wish DZ would do is add another vegetarian dumpling option and also allow half orders (3 instead of 6). I normally come with meat eaters and a 6-piece order of veggie wontons is too much for me. Service was extremely friendly here and they accommodated our request to sit on the same side of the table! They were also playing very relaxing lo-fi music; between that, the rain outside, and the hot noodles, it was a very cozy experience :)

When we had left just a few minutes shy of 12pm, the restaurant was full and there were a few parties waiting outside. The staff were very attentive and would immediately replenish our radish if we were low. The jjamppong and jjajangmyeon tasted fine, if anything the jjajangmyeon was a little sweet. The fried rice however (without the jjajang sauce) was pretty bland and a bit dry. I don't know if it's intentional because they give the sauce on the side but I'd like to have the rice taste good without the assistance of the sauce. Other than the bland and dry rice, my only other nitpick would be that the jjajangmyeon came out a lot later than the other dishes. Otherwise we paid around $117 (without tip), for five dishes and two appetizers, which I think is pretty good for this area.

First thing I noticed when I looked at the menu was that the prices are very LA, but before you let that deter you, hear me out: the portion sizes are significantly larger than what you'd get for the same price back home. So in terms of value, you're actually getting a much better deal out here in Redmond. One thing that genuinely caught me off guard; they let me bring my puppy. If you're from LA or the 626, you already know that's basically unheard of. Redmond, Washington is on a whole different level when it comes to being pet friendly, and I loved every second of it. As for the food, it was great overall. The mala wasn't too numbing, which I appreciated, it had just enough kick without overwhelming everything else. The garlic a-choy was perfect, honestly no notes. The braised pork belly was good but I wished it was a touch softer, and I personally felt like my dishes could've used a little more salt or soy sauce, but that's an easy fix and purely personal preference. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.
