I also really appreciate that they ask whether you'd like tea before bringing it out, so you're aware there's a charge. A lot of dim sum restaurants automatically serve tea and add it to the bill without asking, so I like the transparency here. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. My favorites are the shrimp shumai and sticky rice, but I've enjoyed everything I've tried. The customer service is always friendly and attentive, and there's plenty of parking, which makes every visit easy. If you're looking for delicious dim sum at a great value, I highly recommend Royal Kitchen! It gets very busy throughout the day, so go early!

We ordered shrimp rice roll, har gow, football, shrimp with eggplant, shrimp with bell pepper, spare rib, Xiao long bao, sautéed pea tips, chicken feet, meatballs, shrimp and chive dumplings, tripe, and mango pudding. I really liked the filling in the football, which contained ground pork and mushrooms, not so much the flour for the outer layer. I also liked the tripe, pea tips, and chicken feet. They were delectable. Other than that, it seemed a bit plain. I didn't really like the chili oil they used, it was more like a sambal. I'm glad we ended with the mango pudding for dessert. The mold for it was so cute. Hopefully next time I come here they change up the chili used.

The store is a little different now that Rooster & Rice has taken over some of the kitchen. In the ordering area, the left two kiosks are solely for Rooster & Rice, while the right three kiosks are for Xiao Chi Jie and Bento Bliss. The menu is drastically shortened, with all the Mila products and the Jianbing being removed. Honestly not a bad removal given how mediocre I thought they were. And surprisingly, pricing ($12.99) for the 5pc Sheng Jian Bao hasn't increased in the almost 2 years since my first visit. Their method of cook is traditional, bunching a large number of bao together with oil and water in an oversized and specialized pan just for this dish (with the required cover for steaming, of course). The quality remains the exact same as my first visit - good amount of fatty interior rendered aspic, strong umami and aromatic flavoring on the pork meatball filling, and a nice thin doughy skin. It's a very solid SJB, and probably the best that can be found in the Seattle metro.

Understandable but came the following week and more than half the items were unavailable. The food tastes the same but was barely warm whereas before it was hot and steaming. At the time we came, they did not have hot sauce and they did not provide sauce for the dumplings until we requested it. Service was okay. Given all the other choices in Bellevue and the price I would not recommend this place. If you want limited choices with barely warm food then this would be your spot.

Food was good and came out on time. What we got: 2 glass of sangria Spicy crispy fish fillet (4/5) Good flavor nice and crispy. Not spicy enough tho. Combination chow mein (3.5/5) Good flavor; nothing crazy but it was good. Eggplant and green bean (3.5/5) Good flavor as well; but again; nothing crazy about it. They serve good foods; but it is in the middle of Belleveu so you will be paying that "Belleveu" price. Our bill were around $140 for the two of us. Which i think you can get the same kind of foods at other chinese restaurant for probably a bit more than half the price Would i recommend it? If you willing to pay that much; sure; their foods are good and we like it and hospitality was good I just dont think the price point is very balanced. Maybe they use better quality ingredients? I dont know; just couldnt tell since the dishes we order tasted just like something we could get at other chinese restaurants.

That made the evening feel extra special and comfortable for our group. We ordered a variety of dishes, and our favorites were definitely the Mongolian Beef, Shrimp Dumplings, Hot Seafood Noodle Soup, and Kung Pao Prawns- all were flavorful, well-prepared, and highly recommended. The Garlic Crispy Chicken and Singapore Noodles were also good. The only dish that didn't stand out to us was the Chicken Fried Rice, which was our least favorite of the meal. The service was excellent from start to finish. A special shoutout to the host, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit. Parking was convenient as well, with a nearby garage offering the first 3 hours free. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the pricing felt a bit on the higher side, especially considering the portion sizes seemed smaller compared to other Chinese restaurants we've visited. Overall, a great dining experience with delicious food, outstanding hospitality, and excellent accommodation for large groups.

The whole roasting process is executed flawlessly. The chef roasts the duck long enough to render out nearly all excess fat from the skin, leaving it thin, shatteringly crisp, and golden-brown with zero greasy aftertaste. No slick oily residue coating your fingers or weighing you down after eating, which is a game-changer compared to other local duck spots that leave layers of unrendered lard on the skin. The duck itself is really good, and the green beans with pork were a solid side -- had a nice little kick that helped cut through the richness. Pro tip: order the pu-erh tea. It pairs perfectly with the duck and does a great job washing down the oiliness. Highly recommend it. One gripe: the wraps and condiments that come with the duck are pretty stingy for the price point, and extras cost you. You will almost certainly need more, so just budget for that upfront. Service is fine but nothing to write home about. Ambiance is nice though. If you're in Bellevue and craving Peking duck, this is the spot. Pricey, but the duck delivers.

The three of us came here on a Tuesday holiday for lunch (after checking to make sure they were open). It wasn't too crowded inside and we got seated right away. Water was brought immediately, and one paper menu with pen was given to make our choices (similar to a dim sum place). One thing to notice right away was that everything was under ten dollars (with most under eight), encouraging one to try different things since most are shareable. That's what we did, and most it was quite good. Beef-stew Noodle Soup ($9.95) - on the smaller side but definitely appropriate for the price, with a bit weak beef broth (flavored with star anise and other chinese spices) that was oily. It used small chunks of beef with a lot of gristle around (probably from the shank), which I think is the absolute best cut of beef for this dish). The noodles were OK. Definitely satisfying considering the Seattle winter weather. Pork Xiao Long Bao ($9.25 each) - comes in eights and are the typical (smaller) size. It was expertly handmade, which makes the price very reasonable. Interestingly, the pork and crab version is the same price (which if one frequents DTF knows is unusual). The skin was thin with the top not too thick, the pork sausage inside was flavorful and the soup gelatin was tasty. It's a very good version of XLB, and deserved the two steamer baskets that we got (and devoured) Chinese Crepe ($7.15) - this was a special, with a egg and flour batter wrapping around crispy won-ton chips, covered in a dark house special sauce. It looked interesting (and I love omelets) so worth a taste, but we wouldn't get it again. Pork & Shrimp Potstickers, pan fried ($7.15) - probably my favorite dish this time. Definitely worth the pan fried style, with a beautiful dumpling 'skirt'...beautiful to look at, and enjoyable to eat too. The pork filling is consistently good here. Q-Bao: pan fried pork buns (9.95) - really interesting...combines the dough and breadiness of a chinese bao, with the filling of a potsticker, and then having the bottom pan fried. It was OK. One thing I really like about Dough Zone are the simple accoutrements at the table: soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil...all high quality. For the soup dumplings, little ramekins of ginger are given, but instead of it being sliced, the ginger is crushed, letting it mix even better. My wife really likes it with the XLB, and will ask for it at other places...so far, Dough Zone is the only place that does it like this. Service was OK throughout. It was well staffed, and they weren't very busy so food came out right away hot. They did finally refill the water towards the end of the meal. Paying was at the table and was quick and easy. Founded in 2014 in Bellevue, WA, this is one of two locations in Bellevue (and one of fourteen in WA). There are also three locations in OR, five in NorCal, and four in the Houston, TX area. One of the benefits of having so many locations close together in the Seattle area: can optimize the consistency of the product by prepping much of it in a central place, which reduces costs as well (which I believe is passed down to the customer). There is a lot of competition for this type of cuisine in this area...Dough Zone's continued expansion seems to indicate they are doing things right.
