Years ago their food was amazing.. Now there's no flavor at all...waste of money. years ago the fried rice was the best, now it's tasteless

Didn't want to post a review because I got my refund but it wasn't quietly or with an ounce of an apology so im doing this. I've found hairs in my food before but i've let it go because there was a possibility of it being mine. This was different. My mother picked up the food around three and we didn't open the boxes until we were going to serve it around 6:30. As i'm serving myself a huge bug slips out of one of the containers. Guy was fresh and insisted it was us till the bitter end and i don't appreciate being called a liar. Because yes! somehow that bug crawled into the sealed container somewhere between 3 and 6:30 when i eventually opened it. After years of eating here i can say im officially never going to again. And if you're going to eat here make sure you check your food and be prepared to be met with an attitude and defensiveness if you do find creatures in it. Happy eating! read more

Hands down...the WORST Chinese food we've ever had. Been wanting to try this place for a while and wanted to find a new go-to Chinese spot but this is a one and done. The chicken and broccoli was literally just half cooked steamed chicken with no sauce. It looked like dog food. Wasn't even edible just tossed it. The sesame chicken was plain fried chicken sitting on top of watery sesame sauce. Not tossed at all or anything. Absolutely laughable and super disappointing. As I'm writing this I'm tempted to go back into the trash to take a picture but just take my word on this one. Will not be giving these guys another shot, and certainly do not recommend it to anyone. read more

i get delivery from here often and i'm always surprised by the speed. i've never had any issues over the many times i've ordered and i'm always happy with the food so i definitely recommend giving it a shot. they deliver through several third party apps as far as i know read more

Disappointing. Food itself was average, but portion is measly. You're basically paying for rice, and as someone who doesn't normally eat the "side" of rice, this meal was not satisfying. I would've much rather paid a few more dollars for a decent amount of the bean curd. read more

This was our go to spot for years and years but may not be going back after today. We got the sesame chicken combo with fried rice , cheese Rangoon's and wanton soup. The cheese Rangoon's were tasty as usual and wanton was good as any wanton soup but the sesame chicken tasted off. The chicken was tough, grisly, and just tasted not right. Well with all that's going on, we ordered some good from Chan's take out. We have been going there for many years and for the most part we were satisfied. This time around we ordered Sesame chicken. Port fried rice and a small order of pork chow mien. I can honestly say they knocked this order out of the part. Fresh chicken with beautiful white meat. In a great sauce. Whoa....what happened to Chans? This place used to be great. I called in a dumpling order and the girl barely understood what I asked for. I get here to pick up my dumplings and while I wait I see her go into a refrigerator near the front register, take out what looked like chicken skewers frozen together in a clump raw and put them into the microwave in the to go dish. We ordered because it was the only nearby place open...ordered chicken wings, boneless ribs with vegetable fried rice and curry pork. Wings were good. Pork was big pieces not the usual small pieces but didn't have much flavor or much sauce. Rice was not fried rice but maybe that makes it healthier ‍. Curry pork was good. 3.5/5 stars for being only close place open. We will wait for our go to place to open for our next order. read more

Just about an hour ago I walked into Chan's and placed an order for a simple lunch special. Even thought there were no people in the place except me I expected to wait a good 5 to 10 minutes for my order. I wandered around the tiny dining area a little and produced my iPhone from my coat deciding that I was going to check Facebook for any interesting things that my friends were doing at the moment. I was about to sit down when the girl behind the counter told me my order was ready. What?!!! My order is ready? That fast? I just ordered this thing. I was amazed. Astonished. How could my order have been prepared that fast? I didn't even hear a microwave go off in the background so I had to assume that my lunch was made fresh. Yes, quite impressive. These people have McDonald's beat on what is considered "fast food". Well, needless to say, I paid for my Asian cuisine and returned to my place of work still thinking about the break neck speed to which my food passed through the wok cooking process. As I cracked open the plastic containers created by Du Pont's master engineers I dove in to my meal. I was quite disappointed to say the least. My meal had flavor, but it was a bit bland. The wonton soup was tiny and had only two dumplings. The soup was also mildly greasy. How do you cook greasy soup? I have to admit, while not overwhelmingly tasty the food did fill my stomach and attend to my hunger enough that I will be good until around 5 PM, but by then all bets are off and I'm going to get me something substantial to eat. In my opinion, if you need something in a hurry, come to this place. If you need something that not only fills you up, but tastes great, go somewhere else. Chan's is worthy of the three stars, but that was because of the acts of Speedy Gonzales playing the wok. If it wasn't for that, two stars would have been appropriate. read more

Hands down my favorite Chinese take out place! We have been ordering here for years and all other places are just not up to this standard. The sesame chicken is not like most places (small dark meat chicken in hardly any sauce). This place gives you huge pieces of white meat and there is enough sauce to coat your rice and then some, it's great. The chicken and broccoli comes in a white sauce that is also not typical but it is certainly delish. You can ask for it in the more traditional brown sauce, though I would stick with the white. This is just another Chinese take out place. For some reason all Chinese take out places have the same taste on Long Island. Food is mediocre at best. It's made for the American taste. It's as if they all went to the same cooking school. If you want real Chinese food you have to experience the food in Queens or Chinatown in NYC. Trust me on this one. Chan's Sushi next door closed. I've lived in this area my whole life and have always seen Chan's Restaurant, but today was my first time actually going inside and ordering. The first thing I noticed was how the cashier/waitress (young-ish, maybe late 30's) was very loud and semi-rude. No eye contact, can barely understand what she's saying -- and I get that, but speak a little slower so your customer can try and understand you. Also, when I paid her with my debit card, she just slightly threw the card on the counter back to me, which I found rude and unprofessional. As for the food, it's nothing special. The egg-drop soup is decent. The sesame chicken was not worth it. If you'd like better quality Chinese food and better customer service, try the place on Portion road in Lake Ronkonkoma in the old Waldbaums shopping center. read more

I ordered online and I got a boneless spare rib combination and the same thing but sesame chicken. So everywhere I've ever gone has done combinations with fried rice and an egg roll which is how the chicken came. But the spare ribs were literally just in a bag. No rice, just meat in a bag. Thanks? We have taken out food here for many years. Always great! However the last two times we have eaten there , we have been extremely disappointed. We had the roast pork with broccoli and the ,pork was so tough we could hardly eat it . Also the roast pork eggroll crust was very Doughy and not crisp. I decided to call and express my disappointment to them and they would not listen. They were rude and hung up on me.. !!! Never going here again or recommending this place. My personal favorite is the c4 beef w. broccoli, have been getting it for years and it never fails. I introduced my girlfriend a few years back and lets just say our relationship has strived because of this! she is all about the c12 sesame chicken combo! We have been going to chans for years, but will not be coming back after tonight. I ordered beef with chinese vegetables and instead of vegetables received a handful of onions with very little beef.
