I brought my BMW to Chantilly Service Center (CSC) because the ignition starter was going bad. CSC fixed the problem and changed my oil. While changing the oil, they found out that a part that was connected to the filter housing was broken...and the reason behind the car smoking whenever I would start it. Bruce and his son are amazing. They're experts and trustable. In this day and age you can't find an honest mechanic but these guys are top notch. Only repair things that are necessary and not add on other repairs to make more money. I had some work done on my car and I had to return a week later to get more work done. They said just pay us when you come back next week. No business owner will do that. I came in without appointment and he had 10-12 cars to fix. I decided to rent a car but enterprise had no cars available. I told him that I can wait for 4-5 hours. He had the car ready in 2 hours and I was on my way. I took my Toyota Camry to Chantilly Service Center for alternator replacement. The price was reasonable and the service was completed in timely manner. After the alternator replacement, the car still ran poorly. It stalled out several times at stop signs and traffic stops. We called Bruce and he asked us to bring the car back. Bruce cleaned up the throttle body. Now the car is running well. He didn't even charge us anything for the second service. We will definitely recommend Chantilly Service Center to our friends. read more

Found this place on Yelp because a used car dealership nearby had a Jeep that my son wanted. We brought the Jeep in for a pre-purchase inspection. The owners went through the vehicle head to toe and found a number of issues. We brought it back to the dealership with their list of recommendations and they took care of about $2000 worth of work (radiator replacement, caliper replacement, oil pan replacement, etc.). Best $100 I've ever spent! Really appreciate them taking us as a walk-in on a Saturday morning too!!! read more

You have a choice with your cars on where you want to have them serviced, either for regular maintenance or for a major breakdown. Chantilly Service Center is one of the only auto shops I will trust that my cars will be repaired honestly and efficiently. So many times they were able to advise me quickly on what is the required fix or which part has failed either with my foreign or American made cars. They have often been able to analyze my car issues just by listening to the engine, either on start up, or a quick test drive around the block. The main reason I have gone here for over 20 years is that you get a quote from the owner and it's usually right on the money as to what the total labor and parts will run. No surprises. I wrote this review with no coaxing and it was mostly because of the years of experience, and knowledge I receive on car issues at this shop that are above and beyond what I can repair, and of course honesty. They keep a wide variety of magazines in the waiting room and that is just fine with me. You can grab a quick cup of coffee or a meal at the Cafe just a few doors down. read more

I was there for three days when my m3 kept mis firing. They were working on it for three days but could not find a problem at the end. however I would like to give them four star for trying their best. At the end, they didn't charge for the full labor fee. ELI was a great guy who know what he is doing. I think I just have to take my m3 to bmw shop for now because they are more familiar with the problems. I wish they would improve their lounge area quality. it was messy and had old fish tanks that was rotten. however this is mechanic shop not a cafe so i understand that. i would give five star if they found a problem. read more

**Response to Bruce's reply* Bruce, 1) When I dropped off the car, I was NOT advised it was a 6 hour job - that's the whole point of this write-up. If I was told it would take 6 hours, I wouldn't be silly enough to think I could get it back by 6 and make it to an event in the evening. 2) There are absolutely horse shows held in winter - It's really not my fault if you're not resourceful enough to find out where they are; also, there is nothing vague about Middleburg - it's not as if I said I was going to D.C. While I'm SURE you just happened to have your horse trailer hooked up to your truck, it probably wouldn't have mattered, as my horse is a giant warmblood - he doesn't go into most trailers well. I digress here, because your whole paragraph as to why I needed my car back is completely irrelevant; but thanks for that. 3) I will give you that I shouldn't have taken my car in for service that day at all. I learned a lesson with that one. 4) There's no mention of price or quality because there's not much I can say about it; I got a quote, and that's pretty much what it cost. What's to mention? As far as quality, I'm obviously not a car person, so there's no way for me to determine the quality. So, thanks that my car hasn't fallen apart? The only way I'll know is when I take it to get serviced again - I'm sure someone will mention if something isn't right, but honestly, it's probably fine. 5) Lastly, I'm a complainer? Because I complained about ONE other business? Please, save it. You just proved my point - you use that car wash all the time and have no trouble navigating it - that was my FIRST time there and it's not set up very easily. Anyone can see that. The entire point of my write-up was that 1) I was not told that it would take 6 hours when you guys called me regardless of what you want to tell other people; 2) OF COURSE I was nasty because with the exception of the lady who was there (who was nice), none of the men there were. Despite being next to the expo center, a Walmart, a couple hotels, and a zillion fast food restaurants I've found this place to have had that is usual a dime cheaper than the other service stations in the area. Note: its just gas, convenience store and a car wash - no garage if you need something fixed. read more

I've been bringing my cars here for years. A friend recommended them to me Iwhen a Centreville shop quoted me $1,600 for a repair. Bruce at CSC took it in and was able to get me running for less than $300. I was able to keep that particular car going for another 4 years because of their help. Recently a friend of ours was told it would cost $7,000 to repair/replace a transmission on a mini-van. CSC was able to repair the vehicle for about $500. Service is top notched. They are friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside is that their waiting room is horrible. Otherwise I'd give them 5 out of 5 stars. We usually drop our car off and pick it up later and don't stay in the waiting room. If you have to stay in the area, there are several decent sandwich places in the area. If you need a car repaired and you want a mechanic you can trust, go to CSC. read more

I've also been bringing cars here since the early 90s. A place nearby (with great Wash Ckbook reviews) tried to charge me hundreds of dollars for a single blown brake cylinder worth about $50 (for the part alone!!) so instead I called a nearby good import parts store and asked them for the name of an honest and good mechanic, and they sent me to Bruce at CSC. I've brought all my cars there (VW, Toyotas, Fords, trucks, cars, you name it.) Fixing mechanical problems can be easy, or tricky. Some "occasional" or hard to duplicate noises aren't always easy to get at. I know that. But I've NEVER been ripped off here and I feel my cars are safe and fixed correctly - if something needs to be done, (or not) he tells me. As long as Bruce is in business I won't go anywhere else. Hands down this is the best car repair shop in this area. My husband and I have taken our cars to Bruce for almost 20 years now. Since we summer up here and if repairs can wait, we will bring our cars to CSC. I was there last weekend with my daughters car which was making strange sounds and needed a state inspection. She brings her car here from Richmond because she knows Bruce won't rip her off. She had a minor problem that Bruce was able to quickly fix and we were out in an hour and $75 (estimates in Richmond were $800). I can't say enough good things about this shop. Bruce has worked in all my cars for a long time now - at least 15 years worth. He's honest, fair, pretty quick, and very personable. The waiting area leaves a LOT to be desired, but if you want to go wait at someplace nearby (a cafe or two is very close by), all you need to do is tell them where you are and they will come get you or call when it is done.
