I had to jump my car to get it started on Monday morning, and I was super frustrated because I've put out about $1,000 at other shops for repairs in the past 3 months. I jumped on Angie's List to find a better shop, and I found Dulles Auto Clinic pretty quickly. I called them, and they were able to fit me in right away. I drove right over and was helped immediately. They shuttled me back to my office in my own car and, during the drive, the technician pointed out that my State Inspection was due this month (I had totally forgotten!). I asked them to go ahead and do both the State Inspection and Emissions Test while the car was with them. A couple of hours later, the same technician called me to tell me that my start-up problem was caused by my old car battery (4 years old) and said that he had one for $103 (before labor, etc.). He also told me that my car had needed just a light bulb replacement to pass State Inspection. I authorized them to go ahead and replace the battery, replace the light bulb, etc. An hour later, the same technician called me back to tell me that my car was ready to go. I caught a ride over to the shop, paid the total bill ($226), and was on my way. I felt the price was reasonable, and I appreciated their good customer service. I will absolutely use them again in the future! I even suggested that my fiancee consider using them for our employer's auto repair needs. read more

Towed my car here 8/16/14 at a recommendation to replace my distributor. They also cleaned my rear brakes and replaced my front brake pads. Service paperwork also says "replace or machine brake rotors". Ever since I had that done my car has been vibrating which they warned me about and said it was the rear brakes that need replacing. Which I was confused as of they need replacing why did I pay you to clean them? Around Halloween I had my rear brake shoes and drums finally replaced. This did not solve my brake vibration as suggested. Fast forward to today when I got tired of my brakes vibrating my car. Mechanic said rotors are warped and show no sign of replacement or machining. Had to replace front brake pads AGAIN as the warped rotor ruined them. Now my car brakes smoothly at yet another expense. I gave two stars as the woman at the front desk was REALLY nice and honest with me. She deserves a positive review. The mechanic that gave me the break down of my issues was a bit rude. read more

My experience with DAC was not pleasant to say the least. Had an issue arise with my vehicle after having work performed there at the shop. Explained the situation to the manager briefly over the phone and in person. Was told I would be hearing from him soon but never received any follow-up. Oh well... I recently found Dulles Auto Clinic and started taking my vehicles there. I am impressed with their service and i get a much better feeling about then than i do from any dealership service. I have repeatedly had my Honda at the dulles dealership about break issues and they never found what the issue was. I went to Dulles Auto Clinic for the first time today and they were fantastic. I drove right in and the job was done very quickly. I only needed to top off my transmission fluid because I have a small leak. I called six different places in Fairfax, closer to where I reside, and all of them told me this job would be $130 for my European car. I got it done here for literally 90% less because they actually knew what they were doing and what I was asking for. The staff was extremely friendly and I chatted with them while waiting. It was the best experience I have ever had at an auto shop and I will without a doubt be returning there for the rest of my car's needs. read more

I was at Dulles Auto Clinic and I have to say it was a very pleasant experience. They charge me a low price dynastic fee then any other shop that I called secondly I didn't know what was wrong with my car and they were one of the only shops that would at least look at my car today. I talked to the mechanic outside and he popped open the hood and we saw some coolant on the freshly wipe coolant reservoir tank. I used to hate dealing with car repairs until I found the guys at Dulles Auto Clinic. They are extremely knowledgeable and will take the time to explain what needs to be done and why, if you're interested. I have brought them many different vehicles over the years and they know them all inside and out. In my experience they're very good at getting the cars in and out of the shop quickly as they know just as many are coming in the next day. When it warmed up after winter, I got in my car one morning and it wasn't blowing ice cold air. Drove it right over to Dulles Auto and dropped it off, a few hours later I got a call with an update and it was ready to be picked up. Dulles Auto Clinic is by far the best garage in the area. One of the only honest mechanics in this town. Brought my car in for brake replacement at 730am, left my keys in the drop box, my car was repaired and inspected before noon!! Not only did they repair my worn rotors and pads, but they performed the service at a discounted rate from the original quote as some of the quoted work was unnecessary. Rather than proceed with the original quotation, they simply told me it wasn't needed...HONESTY. Also provided recommendations on work that could be performed on my own, rather than spend the extra $ having DAC perform the task. I have a 1999 Saab 9-5 SE sedan with 98,000 miles on it. My radiator had blown recently along with the upper and lower radiator hoses and some of the other parts like the serpentine belt and water pump had also worn out. I thought that I would lose my car and might have to sell it as junk. I worked with Robert at Dulles Auto Clinic who did a great job of listening to my needs on the type of repairs I wanted on my Saab. He diagnosed the issues with my Saab correctly and provided the best advice on fixing it. Dulles Auto Clinic also allowed me to buy the parts myself and I only paid for labor. Not many shops allows you to do that. I replaced the radiator, upper and lower radiator hoses, water pump, crankshaft pulley, upper idler pulley, drive belt tensioner, serpentine belt, thermostat and housing replacement, coolant flush and change and fully synthetic oil change. They did an outstanding job on my car. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Even the Mrs. was very impressed when I took her out on a drive. She commented that the car never drove this smooth before. All the people I talked to at this place were nice! I really liked their service, great advice and honest and fair pricing for the repairs I did. I will be coming back to Dulles Auto Shop for my future repairs!!! read more

First time I went here for an inspection good, second time for another car of mine, they rejected me and in a way threatened me that if I don't fix with them they will reject me, I took it somewhere else, fixed it for the quarter the price they told me, and the guy said he can't believe it was rejected! Because usually no one would reject it for that issue...so I say watch out and don't believe what they say!!!! read more

The team were friendly, helpful and gained my trust rapidly. Diagnosed the problem (spark plug and coil), explained the options clearly and got me back on the road. Price was very reasonable. Took my 2006 Taurus there came out with a bill for $2000 they said the back breaks need to be replaced and the cost......$800 just the back breaks i thought to my self its a ford it's not a 2017 Bentley the break pads better be made out of gold lol they tried to scare me by saying the tires are ready to come off I commute 120 miles everyday nothing wrong with it he tried to tell me you know that shake when you drive I thought to my self what shake also told me there was a leak there was no leak. Anyway took it else where the car was perfectly fine just let you compare I had the timing belt water pump and alternator done for $750 under the price of what it would cost to do just the breaks there lol these guys are the reason why mechanics get a bad rap typical. read more

My usual auto mechanic was on vacation when my air-conditioning went out. Commuting in the summer in Virginia without air-conditioning is a bit Hellish, so I took my car to Dulles Auto Clinic after viewing the glowing recommendation. They told me that the a/c needed to be 'charged', and $180 later they told me that the service was completed. I was still in their parking lot when I turned the a/c on --- only to find that it STILL was not working. So back into the office I went. The manager told me that he would have it checked out and after over an hour he returned to tell me that it was the compressor that needed to be replaced and handed me an estimate for $900. The $180 that I had just paid them would NOT be deducted from the bill, so getting a functioning a/c would end up costing me nearly $1100 total. Needless to say, I was very unhappy with both the 'service' and the cost. I waited for my usual auto mechanic to return from vacation and brought my car in to him. He told me that the SECOND Dulles diagnosis was correct, but the compressor replacement would cost me $700, $200 less than the Dulles cost and without the mis-diagnosis that had already cost me $180. I wish that I had waited for his return from vacation in the first place and saved myself the $180. But at least I saved myself an additional $200 for the compressor replacement. A company that not only gets the problem wrong but then fails to accept the responsibility by deducting their original erroneous cost from an already inflated bill is certainly not a company that I will ever do business with again or will ever recommend to anyone else. read more

Very good repair shop. Pricing is reasonable and they can often do major repairs in one day if you bring your car in by 9 am. I've taken my Toyota Camry and Chevy Malibu to them and I'm consistently happy with their work. I always call around to get 2nd quotes and Dulles Auto Clinic has good prices. Add that to their expertise + good customer service and you have a good referral. They don't tend to run specials or discounts, which is why I'm holding back on the 5th star, but I would highly recommend them for general M&R as well as tough repair jobs. read more

I took my Honda Accord for state inspection. I was told the left indicator blinkers very blinking very fast and they needed to be replaced to pass state inspection. They charged me $75 for the labor which seemed a ridiculous amount to change a bulb but I paid as I need to pass inspection and get going. A week later I took my car to another auto shop to get the wheels aligned, I was told the axle and the wheel bearings had to be replaced and it was not safe to drive the car. They were surprised that somebody passed this car in state inspection. I'd a good experience with the Dulles Auto Clinic in the past but I'm not going there again. read more

I have a Ford F-350 diesel and am very conscious about who I have do any sort of work on the truck which is why I did not go to a Ford dealership this time for the oil change. All the Ford dealers in the area have pretty bad reviews on their service department so I came across this place and they got me in right away did the oil change as well as changed a bad glow plug and notified me of one that was about to go. They changed both and only charged material for the 2nd one since it was in the area of the first glow plug needing to be changed. They overheard me talking about having my brakes inspected by a diff company and getting charged for it so they offered to include it in our repairs. Lastly they services our batteries for $15 when ford wanted to charge $45 for each battery. I am thankful for the hard work here and the incredible service and would gladly go back. They were honest about the brakes and said they don't need to be done quite yet which most places wont do. I appreciate people who work with their kind of attitude! read more
