A Tale of Two Experiences: Chapman BMW Pre-Owned My relationship with Chapman BMW started off on a high note. I bought my 2021 BMW 430i convertible from them and had one of the most amazing dealership experiences I've ever encountered. Their service and transparency won me over completely--especially after previously working with Earnhardt. The professionalism and ease of my purchase made me a loyal customer and deepened my trust in their brand. That's why my recent experience trying to sell the same car back was especially disappointing. The car--a blue 430i convertible with 33,000 miles--was in excellent condition: clean interior, high-end features like Harman Kardon sound system, head-up display, heated seats, and a wind deflector. Minor cosmetic scuff on the lower bumper aside, the engine was spotless, needing only a light detail in a few areas. Carvana valued it at $31,200. Chapman BMW's Certified Pre-Owned team offered $25,000. The $7,000 difference was explained away by claims about replacing all four tires and the aforementioned scuff. It felt like a dramatic undervaluing rather than a fair evaluation of a well-kept, luxury vehicle. Having had such a great experience initially, this left me disappointed and disillusioned. If you're looking to trade in or sell your vehicle, do your homework first and get multiple quotes. Hey all: Let's start with I love driving our BMW's over the years. We are on our third one. When I buy them I also get both the extended warrantee and prepaid service plan. I expect to pay more than "average" prices for the remaining BMW services that are not covered. With that said, I knew I needed a battery replacement as it's been 3-4ish years and the cars gives you charging warnings before the failure of the battery. So I drop the car off at 3:50 PM and I get the inspection report and diagnoses within an hour. So they charged me $230.00 to "diagnose" the issue. Then they slapped me with a north of $500.00 for the battery replacement. So they want over $800.00 to change a battery... $800.00+ for a battery change. $800.00+ for a battery change. $800.00+ for a battery change. Let that sink in. 10-25-2025 Not sure what inspired the change, but they waved some fee's and the new cost was $500.00. Still, that's a big number for a battery, but in line with what was expected. 11-3-2025 Update. I just had a LONG and productive conversation with the service manager at Chapman. I honestly think we got to a clear understanding, and he knows somehow something got gapped in the way the bill was presented. He heard me that I had concerns that this happened with my wife handling the transaction rather than me. He was fair, kind and clearly looking to close any gaps not simply to make me go away. I'm not going to say I'm "happy" becuase this was still way more effort than nessasary for a battery change, but I'm going to up the rating as I honestly think they were making efforts to learn, not simply to make me happy. I took my car to Camelback BMW BIG mistake. Camelback BMW said I needed to do all this to my car $8100 repairs. I came in for a regular oil change. I came in by myself... I took a picture of everything I needed. He said he couldn't print out the estimates...so I took a pic. Sadly don't judge a woman coming in thinking she has no experience. Nothing on my car app needing all these repairs... Camelback BMW you can't be trusted! Bought an LC 500. Jimmy was the only one communicating for over 50 days as if my finance guy didn't have time for me while they were still trying finalize the deal. Plate expired. I told them, they did nothing. Paid 2 months of insurance to now a cancelled policy. Car is sitting at my property. I can't drive it. I keep calling, they say they're going to do something but don't. I really don't get it. I've been polite and consistent yet days go by with no reach out. I think they should communicate daily with their customers if they're finalizing a deal. Give another temporary plate if they're still in the process of finalizing. Not tell their customers the deal is final then 30 days later say it isn't finalized. Aside from that I got a smoking deal IF they can get their act together and maybe I'll update this review. read more
