I really wanted to love this place since it's so close to my new home, but my experiences have been hit or miss. My first visit for a Gel-X removal and buffer manicure was pleasant--the tech was caring and gave a great massage, though $65 felt a bit steep for such a basic service. Unfortunately, my second visit for a pedicure was very disappointing. I specifically requested a technician who could handle ingrown toenails at check-in, but the person assigned to me was clearly not equipped for it. She ended up cutting me, and I was left bleeding. To make matters worse, the scrub wasn't fully rinsed off my legs, which left me feeling itchy and uncomfortable. While the massage was good, the final result was dull rather than shiny. I can proudly say this was the best manicure of the year (I've gotten ~12 from 7 different places). Their work is IMMACULATE my cuticles, NONE have lifted. Kimberly (Kim) was my nail tech and she did an incredible job in my opinion. She was fast but paid close attention to detail. My nails were ROUGH when I first came in, since I hadn't had a fill in 4 weeks, and I had a missing thumb nail she had to fix. She did a beautiful design and reshaped my nails. Tammy took care of my pedicure. She was friendly and gentle and addressed my ingrown issues. They have the best quality products and the artists here are really skilled. I've never left disappointed. Angel and Tammy are my go to. They're really good. Kevin is an amazing nail tech!!! This is probably in my Top 3 all time best manicures/full sets I've ever gotten. I got the most beautiful and professional acrylic full set done by Kevin. I made a last minute appointment at Charisma Nails to get a gel removal after going to a different nail salon a day prior, getting a lumpy and no apex gel builder mani, and hating it so much I cut them off myself. I showed up at Charisma for my appointment and was helped right away by Kevin. I told him what had happened with my previous set done by a different salon, and even though my appointment at Charisma was just for a gel removal, I told him I'd be interested in getting a fresh full acrylic set if he had time as long as I could be out in an hour and 15 min due to a time crunch I had. Kevin assured me he'd get it done in time and he went to work. At the time, I figured I would go with a trusty acrylic full set since I had a bad gel builder set experience somewhere else prior, but I'm sure Kevin would do an excellent job if I got a gel builder mani from him (probably will try it in the future!) Kevin was so efficient and fast, yet so careful and thorough. He was also very kind. When he had to remove what was left of my old gel builder mani, he made sure to take extra care to not accidentally burn me with the drill. He did a great job with the removal step - speedy yet safe! I was blown away by how fast he was able to apply the acrylic while keeping the application so precise, neat, even, and natural looking. His shaping and painting skills were also perfect. He really paid attention to all the details and made sure to make necessary tweaks where needed such as cleaning up my cuticles and making sure the polish application was not distorting the square shape of the nails. When I was torn between two polish colors, he tested out two different polish colors for me so I could see what they looked like and pick the best one. I love my natural-looking full set so much. They are so even - perfect application. He got done right on time and he asked me if I was happy with my set after he was finished and I can honestly say I am beyond happy with how they turned out. 2nd time here. Just got a pedicure and it was the worse one I've ever received and I have received many. The polish has lots of bubbles and is uneven. Some nails were not fully painted (sides missing polish). And excess polish on the skin was not fully wiped off. Not worth the $85 I paid. I just got a truly beautiful gel manicure from Charisma. The atmosphere was great as soon as I walked in. Everyone smiled and greeted me, asking how they could help. I had a 4:30pm reservation on Friday, and I was seated immediately even though I was 3 minutes late. My nail technician was Don. Cannot recommend her enough. I've been here twice already. My first time I can't remember who helped me but it was a great experience, she was very gentle with taking off my precious gel nail polish from a previous place. The second time I got a mani/pedi which at first was great but when I got home I didn't realize that which the lady who did my pedi scrapped my foot with the buffer tool that it broke skin and I saw I was bleeding on both my feet. Small scratches but still big enough that it stung my feet. Had to apply triple antibiotics for a few days to ensure no infection. But since this is one time occurrence I would still go again but just hope who I have is a little More careful with the buffing of the feet. read more

I've been here a handful of times, and I normally see Tiffany for manicures. I would give her 4-5 stars. However, my latest visit I had to see someone else and was not pleased with the service. I always make appointments, and it seems there's always still a little bit of a wait before being seen. This time, I had called ahead after making the appointment online because I did not get a text confirmation like usual. I also called to ask if they were able to do a cat eye with regular nail polish that I would bring. But no one answered the phone. Shortly after, I got the appt confirmation through text. When I got there they told me there had been a mix up and Tiffany was not able to do my manicure unless I waited for her to do a pedicure on someone else. I didn't have time to wait that long. It was frustrating because I had gotten the appointment confirmation so it should not have been confirmed if there was a conflict. Tiffany told me someone else would help me shortly. When I tried to explain that I wanted the cat eye with my own polish this other person seemed really hesitant about it and said they normally only do cat eye with their own gel polish. She tried to convince me to wait for Tiffany, but I told her I could not. I tried to pick a regular polish because I didn't want gel, but their selection for regular polish is limited. Finally another tech offered to try to do it. I told her I would pay extra and then right away she tried to say that they charge an extra $15 to do cat eye even though they had been saying all along that they don't normally do cat eye with regular polish. Seemed strange to me but I agreed. Then after applying the polish she only held the magnet for a brief second before moving on to the next nail. Needless to say, it did not turn out at all like a cat eye. I could have told her to hold it longer but she seemed in a rush. But if I'm paying $15 extra you would think they would know how to do a cat eye. And she didn't tell me they charge extra for that until I offered to pay extra, so it seemed fishy to me. Also, I think $15 extra for that is a lot, especially since I'm using my own polish. I still tipped well even though I wasn't super pleased with the whole experience. If they don't know how to do it, they shouldn't charge extra. I'm not sure if I'll be back. read more

I had such a great experience at this nail salon spa! I booked a VIP pedicure with Kim around 1 PM on a Sunday, and they were able to take me right on time. The spa itself is clean, bright, and inviting, creating the perfect setting for relaxation. Kim was fantastic--she gave a very thorough pedicure and included a soothing 10-minute massage that was such a nice touch. She also did an amazing job addressing my dry winter skin, leaving my feet feeling soft and well cared for. The location is inside a large shopping area, so if you're visiting on a weekend, be prepared for the possibility of parking being a bit hectic. With a Whole Foods and plenty of other stores nearby, it can get busy, so give yourself a little extra time to find a spot. I don't live in Santa Clara, but if I'm ever back in the area, I'll definitely return. Highly recommend coming in for a pedicure with Kim--she'll take great care of you! read more
