Cannot recommend Charles Young Electric. Terrible service and expensive. My issue was pretty simple, my front door light was not working. The switch would not turn the light on or off. Two guys showed up, and proceeded to yell at each other from across my house as one flipped my breakers and the other checked for power at the switch. After a while, they then said they had it fixed, but ultimately it was not. The two guys got more and more angry as they could not figure out what was wrong with the switch. Very unprofessional. In the end they repaired the light and charged me $471.50, expensive but what could I do. I paid it on site and they left. They then followed up later to say that I was mischarged and owed an additional $258! They stated that it took longer than what they originally said so I owed more. So, to repair one light, it cost me $729.50. Personally, I think that is way too much. I had planned to do more electrical work on my house but will definitely be looking elsewhere! Oh also, one of the guys stunk up my bathroom. So that's cool. read more

Messaged them through Yelp on a Sunday, wasn't expecting a response till Monday because they are closed on Sunday but they responded anyway. Got me in early the next day. Technician that came out was great we even talked about Game of Thrones and Arya taking out the Knight King last night (spoiler alert... you should have watched it already dont blame me and I'm only on episode 3 so who knows what will happen by the time you're reading this). He was able to resolve my issue fairly quickly determined an outlet had a bad neutral wire which was keeping several outlets from working. For less than $100 I can't complain at all, wish I would have called sooner as I had spent several hours trying to figure it out myself, changing the wrong outlets and shutting the power on and off a bunch of times. During that talk, he gave me some pointers on some switches that I had installed and how to see if they are properly installed. With those pointers, I was able to successfully complete my install and get those switches working correctly. Our outlets were reverse polarized, we had unsafe ceiling lights, ungrounded outlets, ceiling fan switches that were backwards, and the bathroom had NO OUTLET! This company saved the day. I spent days on Angie's List and Yelp calling different companies to get quotes on having 11 new recessed LED lights installed in my home with dimmer switches. Almost everyone could not get to my home for at least 3-4 weeks out to complete the job. The workers actually showed up an hour early because their previous job was finished sooner than expected. They finished our job in a reasonable amount of time and even were able to add something that we had not requested initially. The only problem was they left the site without cleaning up everything thoroughly (hand prints and smudges on the walls and ceiling, pencil marks, and a chip in the ceiling drywall); however, when we reported this, Charles Young promptly sent a worker back to finish cleaning up the jobsite. I have been using Charles Young for many years. I am not sure where I got their name from, that's how long I have been using them. There prices are, IMHO, very good to excellent for what they were working with... My house was built 1946/1947. Ollllld house. Recently, I had them replace original switches and plates in the entire house to GFI (?). They put ceiling fans in my dining room (2 or 3 years ago), and in 2 bedrooms. Re-wired the attic for a attic fan and electrical boxes up there. They installed 2 LED ceiling lights that are energy efficient and I now can see what I am cooking :). It was a good thing they did that because there was a faulty light fixture in the kitchen when they replaced those original light fixtures. They added an electrical outlet in the bathroom :) It's easier to use my Water Pik now. I have a day/night nightlight in there too. Re-wired some of the house. And added a place in the electrical box for the bathroom. George is the foreman, Henry and Casey are his workmen. Rhonda is the scheduler and answers the phone and also texted me. I knew when we decided to start the electrical update work, they were my first choice :) They did not let me down. If I could give this crew 10 stars, I would. I needed someone knowledgeable to help me convert an 8-tube fluorescent overhead lightbox to LED. I wanted to get rid of ballasts, etc and have a nice, efficient, clean install that I would not have to worry about for years. I called Charles Young Electric on a Saturday afternoon and received a call back later that same day, although officially they weren't even open. I was quoted a fair price for labor, since I would provide all materials. George and Henry showed up this morning, promptly at the start of the work window. They quickly assessed the job and the hardware and got the job done with professionalism and courtesy. It took them about an hour, but it would have been a full day for me...and I'm not entirely sure I would have survived the job. (only half kidding!) They were even kind to my nosy dog! ( I removed him so they could work without distraction) :-) They transported the now obsolete fluorescent tubes and disposed of the failed ballasts, leaving everything just as they found it, only better! Very thankful to Charles Young Electric for a great job! There's now twice as much light in my kitchen at less than one third the cost. Charles was quick to respond when I submitted a quote request to troubleshoot some faulty kitchen outlets. On the day of the appointment, the crew quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. While there, I asked the crew about another project I had been wanting done - removing the wood box housing fluorescent lights attached to my kitchen ceiling and installing recessed lights there and replacing some others in the house.
