Been going to Charlestons for years! It is sooo consistent and sooo good! Everyone is kind and helpful!

After missing out in this sweet Carmel establishment for years we finally popped in. It was a very busy evening and we brought the baby, so reservation would have been a bette rides. But we didn't have to wait too long. Unfortunately, we were seated near the kitchen and with the baby in the high chair in the walkway, there was a lot of commotion buzzing by us all night. That did take away from the experience but the service was friendly and we enjoyed our meals. I'm a sucker for a rich pasta but decided to go the healthier route and opted for the salmon Caesar salad. It was cooked well and left me feeling not too full. Huge portion though, easily shareable! We finished off the evening with some cheesecake to go. That was a very creamy, yummy cheesecake. All in all, a quintessential part of old Carmel, check them out! read more

Our church group of 16 ate at the Carmel/Westfield location yesterday and so enjoyed. Had a variety of dishes and enjoyed all. Most of the portions quite large, so had leftovers tonight. Chicken piccata, chicken Parmesan, salads and burgers delicious. Key lime pie is my fav dessert and delicious! Happened to be half priced wine night, so several of us enjoyed. Great service, prompt meals, and a good location in the back. We ll be back! read more

Monday, October 31, 2022 (2:30 pm) We are from out of town (California) visiting family members that live here. They took us to Charleston's today for lunch. We were here about a year ago and ate here also at that time so today was actually our second time eating at Charleston's. The food quality here is excellent. We ordered Parmesan crusted chicken. It was excellent. Salad that came with it was excellent. Besides the food, I really like the homey vibe of this place, ambiance etc. The young female server we had was fantastic. So accommodating and extremely attentive. Love Charleston's. Would we come back here again? Absadamnlutley! read more

Why make a reservation when you wait 20 minutes anyway?? We expected the table to be ready when we arrived

Great service, huge portions, very tasty! So this was our first time there and I was a bit concerned at the prices for the items on the menu for lunch. The place is expensive but the portion sizes we recieved gave everyone leftovers for the next day's lunch! So I will take it. Myself and son in law had the chicken fired chicken. Gravy, awesome. Potato's, awesome. Wife had pork chops, awesome. Mother had the baked chicken, great. Daughter had the grilled cheese and tomato bisque, awesome. Grandson ate almost all his kids pasta (and that is rare). Very enjoyable experience. We will be back for sure. read more

Our visit to Charleston's (Clay Terrace) was quite delightful. My mom had been wanting to go to Charleston's for some time. I decided to make a reservation and treat her to lunch for her birthday. The weather was amazing! We were greeted by a cheerful staff who immediately showed us to our table. The ambiance was beautiful. The subtle lighting made for a more quiet and inviting atmosphere. Mom selected the fried catfish with Cole slaw. She also added a loaded baked potato in lieu of fries. She was not disappointed. She said that the catfish was fried to perfection, and the cole slaw and loaded baked potato rounded out her entree nicely. She was quite pleased! I chose the grilled pork chops(see picture). I decided to pair them with a loaded baked potato, cole slaw and glazed carrots. I have eaten at Charleston's on numerous occasions. This was my first time selecting the grilled pork chops. I was very impressed! The chops were plentiful, seasoned and grilled well. They were full of flavor, and very tender. The loaded baked potato was delicious and full of fixings! I will say that the glazed carrots absolutely melted in my mouth! I decided to add them to my meal as a last minute side dish. I was happy that I did. The cole slaw was not a winner as it usually is. I found it to be a little dry, bland and overall, tasteless. With the exception of the cole slaw, my meal was nearly perfect! I took a majority of it home for dinner later that evening! Lastly, our server asked if we'd be having dessert. I declined. Mom selected the bread pudding to go for her birthday dessert. She truly enjoyed it at home later in the afternoon. read more

Soooo good. I used to come here a lot when I was younger but haven't been in years. I figured I'd give it a try and everything was amazing. I had the trout, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, and a side salad. The side salad was so delicious with the thick shreds of cheese and the croissants in addition, are amazing. I definitely ate at least two of them! The food was outstanding. We will most definitely be back. My boyfriend got the sirloin with mashed potatoes and salad. He said he could taste the wood flavor in it and loved it. Definitely will be back!! read more

Great dinner with Mom and her friend- Easy with plenty of handicapped parking. Seated immediately (Thursday at 6pm) and the menu is lovely and extensive. The staff were great. we had one main waiter, but others would ask, as they passed by our table of six, if they could bring us anything. I think everyone enjoyed their order. I had rigatoni and it was ample and delicious. We were served promptly, but we stayed at our table long after we had finished eating. We've been twice now & different servers and we had to wait forever for anything (condiments,refills, boxes to go, etc.) one of our servers never even came to our table other than to take the order and bring check. I was looking for a good curbside option tonight. I wanted something with fresh options and large portions and decided on Charleston's, and I wasn't at all disappointed! Three huge entrees and dessert came out to about $70. I ordered the Walt's Champagne grilled chicken salad, the catfish platter with fries and slaw, Hoosier pork tenderloin sandwich, and the New York cheesecake with berries. The salad was absolutely delicious, with a honeyed croissant accent, delicious dressing and fresh, premium toppings in abundance. The catfish was super tender on the inside, fresh fish flavor, and crispy cornmeal breading, the slaw was nice and pickle-y in flavor. The ramekin of tartar sauce was tasty and filled to the very top. The pork tenderloin sandwich wasn't my favorite, it just lacked the right punch of flavor. The breading could have been better seasoned or something, but even with that said it still was what I would consider "good"! And the cheesecake was a huge towering slice, super fluffy texture with both fresh berries and a berry sauce. Everything was hot and fresh and the curbside process was quick and painless. We love it here. The chicken picata is amazing best we have ever had. We try to make it once a month. The last time we went they gave me one piece of oddly breaded chicken on my dish. I just removed the weird breading and ate it. They were busy and I am sure it was a one off mistake. The drinks are good and the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. read more

I have been coming to Charlestono's for years. The food is always great, the service amazing (especially Jim in the bar area). But the music.... they have started playing music that reminds me of my grocery trips to Meijer. Please! Go back to playing the classic music you used to play. This 90's stuff totally ruins the vibe. We arrived around 6:00 PM and sat in the bar due to a 35 minute wait. We were promptly greeted by one of the bartenders who took our drink order. After the drink arrived, we waited over 20 minutes to place our food order, and that was only because we told her more than once that we were ready. My wife's salad was delivered within a few minutes (about 6:30 PM). At 7:40 PM and still no entrees, we paid for the drink and left. My family and I dined at Charleston's this evening for dinner. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. The service we received from the moment we walked in the restaurant, to us walking out was outstanding. Every employee in the restaurant seems to be looking for opportunities to make your dinning experience top notch. The food is presented well and comes out of the kitchen faster than expected.
