I have frequented this establishment multiple times over the past few years . Always have had a good experience, but not on 6/9/2020 !! I arrived at Charleys Grilled Subs at 1:07pm. I placed my order at 1:15pm. Order was simple, cheesesteak sandwich and fries in combo meal . Three people who ordered in store after I ordered got their food before me . I asked the cashier and he said sorry maybe 10 more mins . After 2 more people who ordered after me got their food I was agitated . Finally after 30+ mins my meal was ready .. I got home and took the food out and NO FRIES !!! I was not happy and called the store which had no answer . Not sure what happened to this place , they need new ownership or management.. read more

Mens restroom was filthy and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in days, no paper towels and they had watered down the soap! Floor was sticky like it hadn't been mopped since they cleaned the restrooms. Spent $30 on food for the family but can't comment on it because it went straight in the trash! I love this place. We frequently pick up dinner to go. The staff is friendly, every single sandwich we've tried has been really tasty and different than any sandwich we can easily make at home. I've tried the Italian, the teriyaki, the California club, the old school. Adding extra grilled onions is another favorite of my family. Definitely pick up food for an easy picnic before heading into the movies nearby. Oh and download their app! It sends you random offers for discounts! Ok I don't know why I even like this place, but I do. I'm a big fan of hot sandwiches, and The cheese steaks are really good, but I always have buyers remorse. Like 10$ for a sandwich, that, in all realities is just a hamburger in the shape of a sandwich. Add fries and a drink and it's like $14 for lunch. This place if more fast food to me, and I expect fast food prices. I guess I went to the one in fashion fair mall when it first opened a long time ago and they were reasonably priced....... but hey. I try to never leave bad reviews but my last experience was one of the worst I've had. I understand the workers were having a hard time with another customer before me, however, that does not mean they should take it out on the other customers. The worker apologized for the wait and I told them it was ok and I understood they were struggling a bit. My order was not complicated, yet because the worker was having a hard time with the machine, she got angry and just walked away without saying anything. Another worker came over and retook my order instead. When preparing the food all of them seemed all over the place. They were all bickering and not knowing what to do. This place needs major overhaul with employee training and cleaning. Place was dirty. We came in fall of 2019 and it was nicer outside than inside because the air wasn't on. It was hot, humid, and icky inside. Tables were sticky, not wiped down, and dirty. We saw small roaches climbing on walls. TV wasn't working. Bathroom was gross, faucet was broken, no paper towels, etc. I can keep going on. You kinda hafta see it for yourself because it's appalling that the owners would let the place get this dirty and run down. Food took a long time. Service was non-existent, with employees like Squiward. We really should have just left, but we stuck it out and when the food came out, it was okay. Just absolutely terrible place to go to eat. My husband and I have been here quite a few times. Finally decided to write a review. Well for starters the food is excellent. It's always fresh and hot. The customer service has always been ok. Not above and beyond or anything but definitely not rude. The only bad thing I can sy is that the tables do tend to be dirty often. Even when it's not busy. They could pay a lil more attention to them. Although they do come clean them when I request a clean table. This is a good place for a sandwich. However it's not as good as what you can get in Philadelphia. That aside the flavors are good and the fires are great. If you ask They will put nacho cheese on your cheesesteak sandwich which is almost as good as Cheese wiz. The staff are very friendly and keep the place nice and clean. I also like the other sandwiches they have. The Italian is the best of them in my opinion. This a lot better than subway for almost the same price. Very important Lesson learned tonight while eating at Charley's grilled subs in Clovis. Tonight's meal makes my package spicy Ramen noodles with eggs at home sounds so good than eating at Charley's tonight. Today I double struck out couldn't find a decent place to eat for lunch and dinner. Small chicken cheesesteak with fries 1/5 part of my bread was burnt and where was the chicken?? Portions of the chicken was so small you get what u pay for. Large cheesesteak with everything 1/5 the cook overcooked my steak it was so hard that I ate half and threw it away. Almost spending $20.00 for this lousy meal tonight it made me rethink where can i spend my bucks on a decent meal. Even going to fancy Cheese Cake Factory you can't get a decent cheesesteak.
