    REGULAR PHILLY CHEESESTEAK
    Marie V.

I stopped in (with my hubby) for a quick bite and was impressed by the food and service. This fast food establishment is clean and staffed with courteous and efficient workers. The philly cheese steak sandwich I had was very appetizing to look at, served hot, and was delicious!

It's been quite some time since I've been to a Charley's, so I thought I'd stop in for a Chicken Philly for lunch. And that's what these guys are famous for. They were empty on a Thursday afternoon at 3:30, so my order didn't take too long, A regular Chicken Philly, fries and drink. A bottle of Garlic and Parmesan Cheese seasoning later, and I sat down to start a late lunch. Funny thing, the Garlic & Parmesan seasoning. It goes well on just about everything, and I didn't need the two things of ketchup you see in the picture below. I sat down and thoroughly enjoyed lunch for the first time in what seemed like forever. I don't understand the low ratings I've read about this particular chain. It's part of the Charley's chain, to be sure, but the service I received and that I saw other receive while I was there wasn't sub-par. One gentleman had to call out for someone (around 3 minutes after I got my food), but after that the counter was staffed. Of course... I had to do the same when I went in. May have been because the place was empty. Regardless, I'd recommend Charleys to everyone wanting a good Philly cheesesteak.

I was here once years ago, but generally I tend to pass it by. The other day I was running errands nearby, and my first few lunch choices were closed (permanently or at that time of day) and it was handy, so I stopped back. Now I'm wondering why I stayed away so long. Service was great start to finish. It's not big or fancy, but it's just a sandwich joint, after all. I had the bacon three cheese philly, regular size with fries, and it was amazing. Good bread, great meats, your choice of veggies, and plenty big for me. The fries were above average. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Everything was fresh and hot. Amongst the "fast-casual" sandwich chains I can think of, I would put this at the top, then Jersey Mike's, Penn Station, Potbelly, Dibella's, Firehouse, Quizno's, Subway, and Jimmy John's, in roughly that order. I will definitely be back here.

Came in for lunch with my sister and the rudest customer came back demanding that they "put too much mayo on her sandwich" and she "didn't want that much" and that "they should have asked her how much she wanted".... Staff was gracious and remade her WHOLE SANDWICH! They were far more patient than I would've been especially since it was obvious she was given exactly what she ordered... Very fast service and gave us exactly what we ordered! Dining area is spacious and clean!

It has been quite a while since I have been to a Charleys. Went after TKD and have to say this location is very clean and updated. The only real problem we had was the wait for cashier to get over to register and there was some kind of problem with water at the drink station / was draining on the floor. Besides that the food was excellent and even though I went mostly for Bacon Cheddar Fries, I think the sandwich was better . Love their lemonade!! Think I will come back just for that.

There are no better subs in the city. Without a doubt. Not only are the sandwiches grilled in front of you, but you also get a sub card where you earn free sandwiches. When I crave a sandwich, I go here. They may be known for their cheese steak...but I get the buffalo chicken. Very tasty.

I stopped at 2pm on a Wednesday and there were only a few customers and myself there. I order The Classic wit Wiz, fries and a Truth IPA. My food came out quickly in a to go bag. I was eating in but no biggie. The positives: the chopped steak, Wiz and onion combo is South St Philly worthy for real. The fries were a unique shape and were delicious. The music!! I heard Guy- I like, The System- Don't disturb this Groove, Christopher Williams-Don't wake Me... I was transported back to my days growing up in Pittsburgh. My only negative: That bun! Dry as Camel heels. To be fair, I ate it as soon as it came out and when I unwrapped it, a lot of the filling spilled out. If I had got it to go, the bun would've absorbed some of the cheese, steak and onion goodness and I'm sure it would've been juicier after 10 min. I'll take it to go next time. So all in all, I think I prefer Marlow's over the other Cheese steak giant in Columbus (as far as the authentic Philly cheesesteak). The other is great as a gourmet version of a classic. It all depends on what you are in the mood for. Great job Marlow's bringing Philly to CBus!!

Sandwich was delivered double wrapped, but when I opened, it was upside down. My bad I guess. Only comment, they do not use a classic dark seeded bun. Wario's does. He's the one who suggested Wario's Way for the steak sandwich last time. The restaurant was pretty full and the patio had many happy patrons! This sandwich is a foot long and nearly 4" wide! The first thing I smell when I open up the halves is the pickle of homemade giardinera, solid amount of lunch meat and nice crisp from the shreduce (iceberg lettuce) and the relish. Be ready to unhinge your jaw to eat this sandwich! This is not something you can eat and drive at the same time, it's messy, but that's what makes it delicious. Thank you Wario's for another great food experience!

A staff member helped me right away. I ordered the steak sandwich wario's way and the house spuds. It's a pretty hefty sandwich! My only issue was the cheese whiz. This is the typical way to eat Philly cheesesteaks, but I didn't love the flavor. Not a bad thing! Really just a preference thing! I've had cheesesteaks with provolone which is more of the flavor profile I'm looking for. The house spuds were phenomenal! Well seasoned, crunchy and it came with a nice savory mustard-like sauce. Seems like some of the other sandwiches are popular too. I would be interested in trying those out next time. They were featured in diners, drive ins, and dives. So I'm happy we have an excellent sandwich shop like this in town!

It was the star of the show it's say . It's been awhile since hearing their name, so I was happy to get a chance to try out their Philly-style cheesesteaks when I was at HHBG for an OSU game. I ordered The New Guy, subbed chicken for the steak. The cheese whiz mixed with the grilled chicken chunks and green peppers and onions was primo; creamy and dreamy. I didn't even bother with their special sauce; it was innecessary, imo; the sweetness wasn't a good ting-to-yang thang. And the bread is so so sooo good: Made fresh in-house daily, soft and pliable, a great carrier mechanism. My only suggestion would be to make the sandwiches more compact. Mine basically all fell apart as soon as I attempted to unwrap some of the white sandwich paper. Lost a little bit of my hyped anticipation. All in all, I'd definitely get a cheesesteak from Philgeddaboutit again next time I'm at Hey Hey.

When I arrived around 10pm on a Sunday night, the place looked like it was in transition to closing (chairs flipped over on tables, no patrons, staff members watching TV in empty booths). However, I was welcomed in to order by the friendly woman at the counter. She answered a few of my questions and when I asked what her favorite was, she immediately said, "Buckeye Garlic Pizza." I took her advice and was also able to add up to three toppings at no additional charge (mushroom, olive and sausage). I took a seat and waited about 10 minutes for my personal 10" pie, which came out hot and with a friendly, "Thank You, Sweetie." I ran the pie back to my hotel and opened up the box. The pie looked amazing. Perfectly crispy outer crust, six cheeses and garlic, along with my toppings. The pie was pretty damn good, with steam coming off the top. The six-cheese blend was interesting, with the dominant flavors being American and Cheddar. The sausage, olives and mushrooms were all fresh and plentiful. Definitely a good option to satisfy my hunger for a late night pizza in Downtown Columbus.
