Last night I checked on yelp for the nearby auto repair shop because my car's "check engine" was on for the passed 2days and suddenly the "maintenance required" turned on too yesterday, and I am worried driving my car with those signs on.. Thanks God I saw Charlie's Automotive on Yelp's list and I've read the reviews with overwhelming praises and 5stars to Charlie. So I dropped by at Charlie's Automotive this afternoon after work to let him check my car. While checking my car, he told me that the catalytic converter is weak since my Acura is already old (1999 model) and that it emits more air pollution so I need to replace it before my next smog test. Then he asked me when is the last time I got my car oil changed and I told him just 2 months ago at Walmart when I reached my 100K mileage. So he just reset everything and told me that I can still drive my car. I asked him how much is his estimate for the replacement of my catalytic converter and he said around $1,500, and so I told him I'll just come back for him to replace it before my next smog test. Then I asked how much do I need to pay him after all the checking and resetting that he had done to my car, he said I don't need to pay, it's free..! OMG! May God bless this man, Charlie is really a blessing to other people, may he live longer so he could help more people that needs his help/expertise..! My snappy salute to Charlie! read more

Excellent service. They know their stuff. I can't say enough good things about my experiences with Charlie. He is as straightforward and honest and you can get. Just show up when they are open, and they will work you in. No need to make an appointment days in advance like some dealerships. My 2008 Ford Mustang GT had a constant chirping noise in the right rear that would go away when brakes were applied and immediately returned when pressure on the brakes was let up. Local Ford dealer had previously examined the vehicle, said they could not find a problem with the brakes, charged me $120 for their time and tried to convince me that I needed to try changing out the lower control arms which they would do for $1100. I decided to take the Mustang to Charlie instead. Two hours later, Charlie calls and says the Mustang is done. He looked it over thoroughly and all it needed was adjustment to the caliper clips on the right rear. With that, no more chirping sounds. Only $40 for their time in thoroughly going over the vehicle and making the adjustments. He did a great job with the Mustang so took in my Chevy Tahoe, which needed the front brakes (rotors and pads) done. They did a great job and it cost me less than half what it costs me when I take it to the Chevy dealer. Bottom line, Charlie gives great service on your vehicles, tells you exactly what is wrong with it, does the job at a very fair price and in a timely manner. Before I had taken my vehicles to Charlie, I had heard about him from friends for years and that he provides great service at a fair price.
