Here at Charlie's Chicken in FTG isn't that bad. You're at better luck with calling ahead to see what their buffet times are, which I did. On Wednesdays you should try out their chicken and dumplings. You can get your dumplings worth their on Wednesday at the buffet. They offer a full course buffet: salad, mains, chicken, sides which are variable; desserts -hot cobblers and or ice cream. This is a kiddo and large family hangout for meals whether lunch or dinner. Not too bad. Just keep clean with a new plate or bowl. Self serve drinks. Tips are accepted at the counter!!! Enjoy! read more

First time customer, I ordered a 3pc mixed chicken meal. upon entering I was greeted and I asked how it works as I could see there was a buffet line etc. the portions for the price were reasonable and the quality of the food was good. while eating the employees made runs to check on customers and make sure everything was going well. it felt like a family style restaurant and not quite a chain restaurant. overall a good experience. you can pay for a buffet or order a special meal from the menu. they also have a drive through. read more

Family (Grandparents w/2 grandkids ages 4&5 yr) came at the odd hour of 3:30 PM on a Saturday and had the buffet. Saturday's we were told, do not acknowledge senior discounts which would have been fine if the food was worth it. 1) the food was 'old' and appeared to have been sitting there since the lunch crowd. The cheese toppings (alfredo I think it was) was waxed over and thick and chunky from not being stirred or fresh, same for the gravy, baked beans. All had a waxed like coating from sitting so long. And the warmer didn't keep the food warm! 2) Fried chicken was almost burned. DARK brown like it was fried in old grease or simply left in the fryer too long. The meat was dry, dry, dry, and cold (back to the warmers not warming) 3) Even the rolls had burned (black) bottoms, crust was hard and the middle bread had collapsed. Like there was no bread in them. 4) the chipped brisket (I think that was what it was) was just cold and nasty. Can't even figure out what they did to it to make it taste so bad. Used to go out of the way to visit this place, didn't mind the $increase, but this will probably be our last visit as the food was just bad. Don't know what has happened for it to go so far downhill. read more

The buffet chicken was dry and old. Even after my husband was all done they brought out fresh chicken so he grabbed one just to have a good piece and it was dry and hard. He spit it out. Yowza! It felt like February- the buffet was full and open to our surprise and delight. My inaugural visit to a Charlie's and, can I say- Yowza! Delicious entrees and the chocolate sheet cake was still warm! We kayaked down the Tahlequah river and then rewarded our efforts with a carb overload! If you grew up in eastern Oklahoma, then you know this is the place to eat Chicken. The FTG location is my favorite. Very consistent quality of food, the owners and staff are always friendly and it's super clean. They also have a great buffet at this location that is kept super clean, which everyone can appreciate. Go here for a good, sit down, comfort meal. read more

This is by far the best Charlie's Chicken out there. I am not just saying that because I am from Fort Gibson. I believe it is owned by the Bert Family; they are really nice people who put a lot of work into the food there. I love the cobblers they always have on the buffet and the chicken chunks are the only way I care to eat fried chicken period. There is not too many choices in the way of food in Fort Gibson but I would tell anyone to stop here and eat no matter what part of the country it was located in. Stop here and eat ! read more

Maybe I went at a bad time. Ordered gizzards and a 3-piece meal. The gizzards were so stale and hard that I wasn't able to eat them--and this was within a minute or two of getting them from the window (didn't have time to go back). I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!! A tiny chicken wing and a nearly as small thigh is supposed to be what you get in a 2 piece chicken dinner for seven dollars???? LAUGHABLE! A wing and a thigh are basically by-products no one else wants-and hardly enough to feed an adult human, especially at that price!! Service was just as bad and the manager rude-I called to complain about the lack of actual chicken and was told that was their "Policy". The Tahlequah location actually serves you two real pieces of chicken with the same "meal" and is worth the money. AVOID Fort Gibson Charlie's Chicken at all costs unless you like to pay 7 dollars for the equivalent of two bites of food. RIP OFF read more

Stopped here after a funeral. Buffet was semi stocked, the mash potatoes were ok. The potato wedges and the BBQ chicken was ice cold! They were out of fried chicken so we waited for them to restock and when they did it was hot but too greasy and not seasoned beyond salt. Yeast rolls were nice, the ice milk machine was a hit for my kids but I passed. Cobblers were apple and cherry and they were quite good. As we were leaving they stocked catfish and the chicken nuggets and these were the best on the buffet... If I had just those my review would be a 4star, but instead it gets only a 2.5 star. They also replaced the apple cobbler with Peach Cobbler and it was the best of the three also!!!!Stock the Buffett with these items and it definitely would be worth the $10 per person. read more

With a fully loaded buffet on Sundays with fresh mashed potatoes, chicken pieces, chicken chunks, green beans, fresh hot rolls, and so much more, I leave here feeling fully satisfied every time! The deserts are also on the buffet and come in portioned sized bowls (handy!). The seating area consists of booths lining the perimeters, with tables in the middle. Stoped n and ate Charlie's during a recent trip home to visit in Tahlequah. Since the Charlie's in Tahlequah sucks so bad now I thought I'd try the one in Ft Gibson. Nope it sucks just as bad. It's too bad since Charlie's used to be so good years ago when they were starting out. I don't k ow if someone else owns them now or what but it's terrible. Baked beans used to be so good and the rolls were bigger and I think they made them back then. The cole slaw was sweet but yet had a bitter taste to it. I'm just diene Charlie's. Too bad they went so far down hill. KFC will have to do! Definitely better than this place now. read more
