    Lunch specials menu

Had lunch here for the first time. They have lunch specials that include a small salad & an egg roll. We tried the Khee Mao Noodle plate (drunken noodles) & the crab fried rice. We enjoyed both dishes. I couldn't decide on pad Thai noodles or drunken noodles. I was really happy with the drunken noodles. Atmosphere here is very laid back and they do have outdoor seating. It wasn't very hot out yet so was okay sitting outdoors. I'd come back to try something different. Looks like a lot of locals cone regularly.

Nice little restaurant in the Sprouts shopping plaza. It was empty for lunch on a Friday when we were there. We sat outside on their patio. Service was very friendly and nice. It was a little cold so they turned on the patio heater for us. We ordered their lunch specials. I think the portions were good considering that their prices were still affordable.

Looking for a place to eat in Poway after Pickleball and we came upon this restaurant. I ordered the Thai Crab Fried Rice and it was tasty. I had level three spice recommended by the server. I think it was just right for me. My friend had the lunch special Pad Thai, but didn't feel like it was enough to satisfy her. She was still quite hungry. They didn't have the crab fried rice as a lunch option so the entrée was enough for me. The service was nice and friendly. A server recommended. We have a seat in the outdoor patio because it was cooler than indoors. It was a warm day in Poway, but there was a breeze and the patio recommendation was a good one. I'm not sure I would come back again, but no real complaints on my end.

Came here for lunch on a hot, sunny Thursday. Outdoor seating highly recommended. Well-shaded. Cool breeze (can't guarantee the breeze is a regular occurrence!). Our server was attentive. Checked in with us to see how everything was. It was good. We ordered from the lunch special menu, so everything comes with a small salad and one little roll. I had 3 shrimp in my curry. Would've been nice to have one or two more to balance with the veggies. Good flavor. Rice felt a little dry/old. My Thai Iced Tea was very refreshing. Sweet, but not too much. Another customer had mango and sticky rice that looked delicious, but I was too full to try it...just enjoyed looking at it. Give this place a try!

Does this place allow smoking in their outside seating area? I have really bad allergies to second hand smoke but prefer eating outside

No smoking at patio. There are also sign no smoking around the building, so you should be fine.

This was my first experience at Aaharn56 Thai Cuisine and I was thoroughly impressed with my dinner here. I will definitely recommend it to others. Aaharn56 Thai Cuisine is a very traditional Thai restaurant that has a wide variety traditional options on their menu and they even have a happy hour menu as well. I was thoroughly impressed with the array of soups, noodles, curry, and seafood that they had available. There's plenty of inside seating, and although the tables appeared close together, it's still felt private enough with the two sections of seating. Service was exemplary, superfast and very friendly. I appreciate it our waitress explaining the orders in detail and being understanding of our heat tolerance in relation to the food we were ordering. I started with the Tom Kha soup at level 4 heat. It was flawless with the flavors & great in a cup. We then had the prawn dumplings, and those were extremely flavorful, and I love the sauce that came with it. I also enjoyed my yellow curry with vegetables at a level five heat, and even their naan was delicious. Even with a glass of wine and a Thai tea, we ordered one more dish with White Lotus and the bill came out to under $85. If you are in the area, I highly recommend Aaharn56 Thai Cuisine, especially if you can make the happy hour with a $5 menu and $5 drinks. You may want to call in advance, because it gets crowded in the evening.

This is marinated smoke pork ribs and served with a sriracha hot sauce. This was a bit dry unfortunately, so the sauce came in handy when we were munching on it. It also tastes pretty good dipped in curry. The next item we got was the lamb hunter. This is a grilled lamb chop with panang curry sauce, mixed salad with fuji apple and olive oil. The lamb was tender and grilled just right. I adored the panang curry - it was both creamy and flavorful! I could probably drink it by itself haha. The salad was a nice addition too. This is also served with a bowl of white rice, so that really completed the meal. The last item we ordered was a dessert item - Mango Sticky Rice. The mango was ripe and the rice was pandan flavored. The coconut milk was fresh and it brought everything together. I am a huge fan of mango sticky rice and AAHARN does a great job in making it. We picked up our takeout order in a timely manner and the server was really kind. She got our order and asked if we wanted any other serving items like utensils and plates. This came in handy since we ate at a picnic table. The first time we went, we ate at the restaurant and there was a nice calm ambiance to the place. Great spot if you have a smaller group or even for families! I would recommend AAHARN if you are looking for a Thai restaurant in San Diego. I also would recommend the Massaman Lamb Shank and Naan. We ordered this last time and it was divine. It is often out of stock (sold out since it is so good!), so make sure to call in advanced to see if they have it!

Thai Ladle in Poway is tucked into a strip mall that's currently under some parking lot construction, which makes finding a spot a bit tricky. With all the nearby kid activities( like dance studios, kiddie gyms, and such) parking probably depends a lot on the time of day. Inside, the restaurant is small and appears clean, and the atmosphere is pleasant enough. The biggest disappointment is that they don't have a liquor license. No beer, wine, or sake, which would have totally turned me away if I figured it out a little faster. What can I say, a girl needs a Chardonnay sometimes. The food itself was good & reasonably priced ,, but not especially memorable. Basically, solid Thai food, but nothing that stands out. Service was friendly, but very slow. Like, very, very slow. We had to flag our server down each time we needed anything, and since we were the only customers, it was hard to understand why. That said, she was very nice and welcoming. One more downside: flies. The door wasn't propped open, yet there werea few of them buzzing around that we ended up covering our dishes with napkins toward the end of the meal. Overall, Thai Ladle is fine for a casual meal if you're in the area and I hope that my experience is the exception not the rule.

The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal, which made the experience even better. I ordered the Thai Basil Fried Rice with chicken at spicy level 2. It was definitely spicy, but so delicious! The flavor was on point, and I kept wanting more. For an appetizer, I ordered the Dinner Appetizer Sampler, which came with crispy veggie rolls, cheesy wontons, potstickers, and tamarind chicken. My favorite was definitely the tamarind chicken. It was super crispy on the outside while still being juicy and tender inside. The potstickers were my second favorite. The sauce complemented them really well and paired nicely with the sweet-and-sour sauce. I also tried the Yellow Curry with chicken. The curry itself had great flavor and paired really well with the Thai Basil Fried Rice. My only personal preference would be for the vegetables to be cooked a little more. They were pretty chunky and took a little longer to chew, but the curry definitely had the flavor! Overall, I had a great experience and left feeling completely satisfied. The food was flavorful, the portions were fulfilling, and the service was great. I'm already looking forward to trying more dishes. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. You can't eat curry by itself so I was surprised that we were charged for it. We also ordered Chicken Larb, which was good, veggies were fresh. The third dish was the Drunken Noodles with tofu. The noodles weren't as fresh as I would've liked. It didn't have that bouncy texture. Instead it was soggy and sad. This was also a level 4 spice and this was also super spicy. I tried the Lemon Thai tea, which is basically like a Thai iced tea without the milk and more tart. Instead of lemon, they had lime. I guess they ran out of lemons. We also had the mango sticky rice, which was pretty good. Rice was the right amount of sweetness and mangos were soft and ripe. Food came out super fast and service was friendly. Kinda pricey for the food we got at 91 dollars. Didn't know about the already included tip, which is not advertised like some other Yelpers pointed out. Pailin Thai is in a shopping center that absolutely gets bonkers during busy hours, mostly because of the obnoxiously skinny parking spaces and the incredibly large cars trying to cram their way into them. We ordered our lunchtime meal online, taking advantage of their lunch combo specials. I got the See-Eyew Noodles with chicken ($13.95) and my husband got the Spicy Noodles with pork ($13.95). Because these were the lunch combos, each meal also came with a small serving of the soup of the day, a small salad, an egg roll and a fried wonton. The menu said you're also supposed to get steamed rice, but we did not. I'd rank the items in my lunch combo this way: the soup (not sure what kind it was, but it was coconutty and citrusy and there wasn't enough of it, in my opinion); the fried wonton; the salad; the noodles; the egg roll. Not that I didn't enjoy the noodles, they were just not the best I've had (and those who know me know that Pad See Ew noodles are my go-to Thai entree.) These noodles were lighter - in color and flavor - than I prefer, and too sticky to easily shove in my face with a plastic fork. The flavor was okay, if a little lacking. My husband's meal was supposed to be spicy noodles, but the container was labeled "Drunken Noodles", which I'm pretty sure is a different dish. But, he ate it all up and said he enjoyed everything about it. Though he did say the serving size was smaller than expected (I reminded him it was a lunch combo, not a full entree, and for what we paid, it was a good deal. I think he agreed haha.) I'd be willing to give them another try, because I love Thai meals and we seem to be lacking in good Thai restaurants anymore.
