I'm afraid this place has slipped a bit since our last few visits. Several of the dishes we really liked are gone (eggplant sandwich, one of the salads). I had the fennel and sausage pizza which was good sized and a nice crust, but the sausage didn't have much flavor and the fennel could have used a saute before going on the pizza. Tried this place last night before our movie. We ordered the pepperoni pizza with a side of hot honey, the Korean wings, and ended our meal with the carrot cake dessert, which was recommended by our waitress. Starting with the pepperoni pizza: it was the perfect portion to share between two people. If we had a larger party, we definitely would have needed more. The taste was amazing the pepperoni was evenly distributed throughout the entire pizza, and the sauce was very good. I definitely recommend adding the hot honey and asking for it on the side; it added an extra burst of flavor. The Korean wings came with seven pieces. They were crispy and full of flavor. The carrot cake was a great size one of those portions where you know you'll have leftovers, so you cut the slice as high as you can. We shared it between my fiancé and me, and it was so worth it. The service was fast, and our waitress, Oceana, did an amazing job explaining the menu and recommending items. She checked on us throughout the meal and made sure we were enjoying everything 10/10 service. The ambiance was really nice. We asked to be seated outside since the weather was nice, and they have heaters to keep you warm. And the music they were playing Christmas music, which made it even better. Finally had a chance to check out Charred Pie and it did not disappoint! We ordered the Korean wings and a pepperoni pizza, both were delicious. Oceana was our waitress and she was great! Friendly, welcoming and full of great recommendations since it was our first visit. We sat outside and actually enjoyed it even more than sitting indoors. It was quieter and the Christmas music added a nice touch. For dessert, we tried the carrot cake which came as a very generous slice. I showed up without a reservation and luckily there were ample spots open at the bar, inside and out. I usually order some type of meat-lovers pizza, but wanted to mix things up a bit and order the prosciutto arugula. As you can tell from the photo, the arugula is piled high. I wish there was more sauce and prosciutto, but it doesn't mean the pizza wasn't delicious, because it really was. The dough had a nice, charred flavor to it, in addition to being soft and chewy. Charred Pie is definitely becoming one of my favorite spots to eat at in Oro Valley! The service is great and the food is incredibly fresh and delicious. Tonight, there was no wait and our food came out really quickly. I tried the Margherita pizza, which has a thinner crust and great flavoring. However, the highlight for me was the Bloody Mary Grilled Cheese which is an incredible sandwich on focaccia with horse radish, bacon, plenty of cheese, and a side of Bloody Mary dipping sauce. I love this place - a couple times a month! Great staff really makes the difference here; They're always friendly. Even my last visit when I had to place a last minute order just 20 minutes before an early close for the holiday, they were unfazed. They still treated me great, offered me a water while I waited, made me a great pizza cooked as exactly as ordered, and amazing Korean wings to take home. Came here after going to the movies with some friends and it was a pretty packed, rainy Sunday evening but we managed to get a table near where the pizza makers show off their skills. Our server was super friendly and we were glad they do happy hour daily because we took advantage of it with 15 minutes left. My sister and I got the Margherita and pepperoni pizzas, and our friends wanted to try a white pizza and our server recommended the green and cheesy since the pesto was so good (and she was right). The char on the pizzas were perfect, the sauce has a nice balance of sweetness and acidity, they were generous with the cheese as well. The other standouts were the buffalo and Korean wings, probably some of the most flavorful, sauced, and *meatiest* wings I've ever had. We were too busy enjoying the food for me to get pictures of everything. At happy hour prices, we were very happy. I only wish they had a location more central/midtown but will definitely return when I'm in Oro Valley (but it's worth the trip from any side of town, honestly). Stopped in on a busy weekend dinner service and had no issue getting a seat quickly. Staff were very helpful in picking out drinks and food. While they don't have a featured vegan pizza, they offer vegan cheese and sausage, which made it super easy to build a delicious pie. I got one with artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. Then we flagged down a server and she rudely said, yeah she'll be right with you! There were zero managers in sight and it's being run at the front by teenagers who sat people that came in after us and we had only 2 people in their party and so were we!! Good food, but the service left a lot to be desired, especially for take out. We called our order in and was told it would be about 20-25 minutes. We arrived after 25 minutes and the food still wasn't ready. I waited almost another 15 minutes before the food was finally done. Everything on the order was correct, but when we got home (only about a 5 minute drive), everything was cold. This left me to believe our order was sitting around for a while before they gave it to me. There's a view into the kitchen from the front, and I could tell whoever was running the kitchen was confused with orders. The place wasn't even that full, maybe about 10 tables only. Not good. So we've heard of this place and decided to give it a try today. We were greeted by our server after a long wait and it wasn't even busy. So we let it pass, then a completely different server brought us our drinks. That was the last time we got our drinks touched/refilled. Pizzas came out and of course they were not well done as we requested so we let this slide as well. The flavor of the food was good, however the service was horrible. The manager came by to check on us and he was nice, but the server was more attentive to other tables and acted like we weren't his section. We had to wave him down to ask for napkins, or some ranch and you would think seeeing our drinks empty that he would refill or ask, nope. He just left and we noticed he was at the other tables much more often. All in all the food was good, but the experience was horrible all because of the service. The host, the manager were good but whoever trains these servers had to speak with them. It's service 101 to refill drinks especially when eating pizza. Great stop while in Oro, happened to be Happy Hr, score! and also on Pi Day!! Place was packed and a camp chair crowd was parked outside the Century 16 for a free Blues courtyard concert right next door. Charred's bar had it's windows open to patio so the tunes floated on in, a nice lilt to the dining room din. Right around 6PM after HHr, the room had lots of tables open up. Killer deal, $2 off sips and $7.90 for 7" or so pizzettes, we took one of each pepperoni and margherita. Fresh mozz cheese basil was lovely over a nice San marzocco style tomato base which could have a lil more pop but it was still good as was the pie itself...crust comes nicely charred from the wood oven but found the dough a bit light and thin on the density for a neopolitan. We cleaned plates and really enjoyed both our IPA $5 and Local Roots Hard Kombucha Coconut Pineapple Blue Spirulina just $3 with our $2 off ea. So often looking for a low cal sugar alternative to watch sugar and this just 4g Sugars and 125 Cals. Tower Station IPA from Mother Rd Brewing Co, Flagstaff AZ was an unfiltered, copper tan, cloudy colored medium body ale with pineapple tangerine and light pine finish, decent hoppiness@ 70 IBUs, , 7.3% ABV. Cannot beat that! There's indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Love the interior. Cozy with an open kitchen and a couple TVs at the bar. Service was excellent. Friendly and helpful. The real showstopper is the food. We added a bread appetizer and it was so delicious! My mom claimed our sausage and fennel pizza was the best she's ever had! First I absolutely love their food. They need to do a lot better at hiring and training their waitstaff. Went in today Sunday at 4:30 may 24. Waited 5 minutes to get seated ( they were not busy at all ). We get seated and that is where the issues begins. We wait 10 minutes nobody comes over. We see waitresses high fiving each other, one fanning someone with a pizza box and us just waiting. 4 people get seated behind us and I'll be damned our waitress goes over and takes their orders. My wife and I looked at each other like we couldn't believe this. The waitress walks away and ignores us again. She seemed really bothered that she was working and just flat out ignored us. We got tired of waiting and left. I really hope business is that good that you can lose customers like this. We eat at your restaurant 2 or 3 times a week and we tip very well. Again love your food but hiring high school kids or whoever you hire they need to be trained on customer service. read more

Went here with some friends while in Tucson. Ate lunch so we showed up after 1 and were seated almost immediately.
