Overall a very disappointing experience for a surprise date night for my wife. We were sat for a full 25 minutes before he were served drinks or and bread to start( restaurant was not busy or on a wait). The menu looked great with lots of good options, however we started with the shrimp cocktail and after waiting were treated with shrimp covered in S***. We left before we had the chance to order a main course. The waitress while very friendly was lacking in training. The shrimp wasn't prepared well and the bread that FINALLY got to our table was stiff as a board. I may be a little too picky but for shrimp cocktail that's $20 for 5 shrimp and main courses starting in the low $30 range without sides you expect a higher quality of service and food. I really wanted to like this place more... I was very excited when our group decided to do a dinner here to welcome a new colleague to the group. Table, perfect, by the window with a view of the river and the sunset. Nice touch on the menu welcoming our new colleague by name. Then things just weren't as good as one would expect for the venue, the reputation, the cost. Our servers were pleasant, but forgetful. Sure we'll bring you another glass of wine... and didn't. Yes, we'll bring more water... oh yeah, water... did you want more water, oh, I'll go get some.... was there something else you wanted... oh yeah, forgot, let me go back... small things like that. The dinner menu was extensive. Salad bar available with fresh ingredients if you'd like. Everything sounded good. We ordered the shrimp, crab, mango and avocado stack - first off, I like pretty presentations, but this did not work practically... the avocado wasn't mashed or diced but large quarter pieces that could not be scooped with the stale taro chips on the side. I knocked the entire tower on its side to try to get all the flavors together... didn't really work. Flavors were just ok, nothing exciting there. We also ordered the "Calamari and Friends." A hint of flavor which to me was overwhelmed by the greasy and not light batter topping which I stopped eating as it did not appeal to me at all. Other picked at it too, so I know it wasn't just me. The waiter gave us an "oh, ah" moment making the signature wood smoked Manhattans at the table side. Finally, dinner arrived. I ordered the baked stuffed shrimp with roasted vegetables on the side. Meh. The shrimp was dry, the stuffing and vegetables overly salty. I ate the shrimp and pretty much left everything else. The Husby ordered the salmon. He said it was just ok. He's had better salmon at other restaurants. He enjoyed the rice. He said that was the better part of the whole meal. Will we go back? Probably not on our own. We went to the chart house with family. This is not the first chart house we have gone to, however, we did not feel it compared to the others. We reserved a table on the app about 30 minutes prior to arriving to the restaurant. The food wait was around 45-60 minutes for entrees. The entrees overall were not very good- some of which were cold and some of them were not seasoned well. The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful. The views are great, the design of the restaurant is beautiful and it is very intimate. read more

Our waitress was very nice, but service was rather slow in getting our entrees to us. Because we were on the patio, we were fighting bugs. (We should have anticipated that.) The worst part though, came when we got our credit card bill. The gift certificate was not removed from the bill. Now I have been calling every day to ask them to correct the error, and no return phone calls from my messages. I cannot reach a manager or any live person to speak to. If you order here, I highly advise against the lobster and shrimp carbonara. It came out cold, the prosciutto was grey, and the lobster was chalky, dry, and tasted like bad breath. The pasta sauce was quite bland also. Definitely the worst carbonara I've had. I felt sick after eating it and had an upset stomach afterwards... food poisoning? Otherwise, our experience was good. The Chart House food in Daytona, FL was overcooked, burnt in some instances, lacked flavor and the plating (presentation) was a clear miss. Unfortunately I have to rate this food experience a 2 out of 5 and I am being generous. I can say the service was the best part of the experience which is why I gave this spot a 2 at all otherwise it's a complete "zero". All in all I am not coming back for food this bad. Update: Manager did come and speak with us. They re-did the "Snapper Hemingway" which came out WAY better. read more

The menu and food presentation were excellent, but service was excessively slow. Not the server's fault--he just had too many tables. Two hours should be enough time for drinks and dinner--and the holdup wasn't us. We were ready with our orders. Had to leave before dessert was served to catch our showtime. The table to my right got their own water from the server stand and the table to my left sourced their own dessert spoons. Chart House needs to sort this out. It made for a stressful evening. We celebrated my parent's 64th anniversary at the Chart House this weekend. We were a party of 8. The waiter was efficient friendly and patient. He checked gluten free options and both my twin and I were able to have delicious safe meals! Everything was smooth and delicious. The shrimp crab avocado stack was delicious. The bourbon shrimp and scallops was perfectly cooked and the glaze and corn salsa were so good. My usbamd loved the cedar plank salmon and my broinlaw had the same thing I did but he got the baked potato. It was huge. My three potato mash was delicious. My sis in-law enjoyed the prime rib and my Dad also had prime rib and his favorite, The farmhouse salad bar. What a wonderful celebration we had!! read more

Most in my party got the Prime Rib. It wasn't exactly cooked to the temperature they wanted (subtracted star) but it was tender and nobody sent theirs back (but almost). I got a seafood pasta dish that I really enjoyed. I think it was a special. Ambience was wonderful, with an ocean view even from inside seating. I would recommend indoor seating because at this price you don't want wind or other environmental issues to ruin your dinner. The service was attentive. The lobster bisque was also very good as an appetizer. I have been sampling lobster bisque at most of the restaurants and this one had a lot of lobster comparatively, and it was not aggressively thickened, just smooth and not milk like. We did not make it to the dessert course, but I was the only one without a clean plate! The dessert menu looks awesome with chocolate lava cake, mud pie and crème brûlée. It's a special occasion place and they were very accommodating of our two babies (who weren't ordering anything). We had 6 adults and 2 babies and they gave us a big booth. Very comfy. read more

I have been to the Chart House many times, for dinner as well as Happy Hour. This time I was there for Happy Hour. My friend and I sat outside and the view was fantastic, right on the river. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. The cocktails were excellent and during Happy Hour, the prices were great! We had the Seared Ahi Nachos and they tasted good. The Truffle Fries arrived to the table barely warm and definitely soggy. They were a disappointment, as were the Burger Sliders. The sliders lacked seasoning and flavor. We got there earlier in the evening (5:30) so was able to order from the early bird menu which was a good value (salad, entree and dessert) and a lot of food. We started with the firecracker shrimp which was so good. Then I had the chopped salad - a large size and very tasty. My entree was the cedar planked salmon with broccolini and fingerling potatoes. The salmon and broccolini was very good. Potatoes were not warm but that really didn't matter since I had too much food to eat. My dessert was sorbet which was a nice ending to the meal. This is a basic restaurant that thinks it is a fine dining establishment, but misses the mark in many ways. My experience with a party of 8: TLDR: Way overpriced food, poor service, good restaurant interior, would not return unless things are changed. The good: - The interior is beautiful, looks fancy and was clean. Seating seemed a little tight in some areas but wasn't an issue for me. The view was lovely (we got lucky and could see the sunset from our table). - Free bread was tasty and warm - Calamari appetizer was undeniably delicious - Majority of seafood overall seemed to be good The bad: - Menu design is just bad, why does the waiter have to explain which things are appetizers and what things come with sides and which don't, just seems kinda silly to me - The majority of the food was NOT worth the money. The mashed potatoes were so.. ok. I expected to be wowed when I paid $40+ for a steak and mashed potatoes, but was just extremely underwhelmed. Not to mention, a fancy establishment usually has fancy food, and this was just a plate with a steak and mashed potatoes, no interesting presentation or additional garnish/topping, just extremely basic (but its a steak so maybe that's just being too picky). Many things we ordered were so expensive but their presentation and flavor did not match the price. - Mixed reviews about the prime rib, some liked it and some hated it - Maybe an off day or something but our waiter Glyn did not meet our expectations. A question would start to be asked and he would cut you off with "hold on" and walk away. He made judgey comments about the amount of drinks ordered and came off as very condescending. It took a long time to get a lot of things, and the wait for the check was crazy considering the majority of tables around us were empty. He also forgot to give the check to someone in our party. The manager was spoken to about the poor service. - Music choice was poor, why are they playing club remixes of classical music.. Between the food and service that did not match the very expensive pricing, I would not recommend this restaurant and would not return. It used to be great, now barely good. Got there for a reservation, not busy but sat there for 10 minutes waiting to be seared, finally wife asked we be seated. Server was ok but has an attitude at first. The happy hour is not avalible to handicap people. The automatic chair to lower level hasn't worked in 5 years even thou we mentioned it. We asked our server for a manager to ask for the happy hour drink prices since our 90 year old couple and othe handicap person couldn't walk the stairs. No on ever showed up. I asked for the first round of drinks to be put on my check. When the check came the entire evenings drinks were put on my bill. My shrimp was cold, others potatoes were cold. Sad to say they must be having issues. The food was cold, the bill was wrong not ADA available . The manager never came when asked. I heard HYDE PARK does a much better job. read more

We ordered ONE BEER and waited another 10 minutes. A table of 5 were seated after us and had their salads and calamari app BEFORE we got our one beer. The clam chowder arrived and was watered down and crunchy with all the celery in it. BLEH! We asked for bread and was able to finally to get a bite. Unfortunately our dining experience was not up to par with other restaurants that n the Daytona Beach area. We were seated 15 minutes after our reservation time and 2 of the 5 dishes we ordered were prepared inaccurately and sent back to the kitchen. Heard how wonderful this place was for so many years and finally decided to try it out. Too many places around here to waste my time going back for such poor service. Bartender seemed like he's burnt out and just happy with the money he makes outside of customer service. Too many people in the area looking for employment to keep someone like this. (Managed a 2500 person venue for 10 years, person with me- bar owner) this is not the kind of staff any establishment needs. We don't expect top notch service but we expect some service. Toughest Prime Rib we have ever had. Ever Had! When one has Prime Rib at a respected restaurant, and paying a hefty sum, you anticipate having a great tasting very tender and flavorful piece of meat. I know it's a " fancy" place but I think linen table cloths are too " old" or not necessary to make a place feel upscale. Kind of makes it feel dated instead. The food was good enough but not worth the cost. My salmon was dry and didn't have much flavor even tho it was blackened. It needed a sauce to help it out. The garlic mashed were thick, for lack of a better word. There's a huge wine list. Maybe go there for a drink and enjoy the outside patio but there's not much value in the food to spend the money. My favorite happy hour spot! They have an extensive happy hour options and I love it. The happy hour gets very crowded and would recommend getting there before they get busy. The happy hour is downstairs and if you get there late you will not find a table. It is 1st come 1st serve. The ambiance can be really relaxed but upstairs is more fine dining.
