We came here for breakfast. They give you a basket with sweet pastries. I ordered the crawfish eggs Benedict. It was good, but nothing special. My friend had the pancakes and it was too sweet with lots of pancakes. The bacon was covered with the syrup. She said it was ok. The service was great. Really wanted the Turkey day special, but just COULD NOT stand the sight and stench of sweet potatoes. You could have offered SOMETHING for people who don't like sweet potatoes! So we punted. Got the swordfish. It was pretty good once I scraped half inch of salt/other stuff off. Meat was seasoned pretty good then. As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted by staff and management. We always sit at the bar and get the best service you can ask for . The food is fresh and plated beautifully. The drinks are spot on. CHART HOUSE is by far the best place to eat at the hotel. It is located outside by the golf course so don't be fooled thinking the menu is only to feed the players. Extremely slow Service. An all four of our meals were so salty we could not eat it. We like salt and not allergic to it. But all of our food felt like the chief tripped and dropped the whole. salt shaker in the food. Our wives didn't even want it Re done. The manager re did our 2 dinners. But also took a long time. My party of 5 (with an 8:15pm reservation) was forced to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes only to be met by service that could only be defined by its mediocrity. Chart House failed to deliver on any of its promises. The service was egregiously disrespectful and dismissive. The food could only be described as cold and bland. The ambiance was a facade of lies. The bar tenders seemed to enjoy the fact that they charged different amounts for the same order on each of our 3 drink orders. The optimist in me wants to caution you that the night we dined here was New Year's Eve. The realist in me wants to tell you to steer clear. I really enjoyed the ambiance of Chart House when I walked in. I came for a birthday brunch so we had to wait outside on the patio briefly. It was a beautiful day so the view of the golf course was really nice. Our waiters were knowledgeable and quick. I ordered steak and potatoes, the steak was a little over done but the potatoes were hot and fresh. I love how each entree comes with fresh fruit. Mimosas on Sunday's are only $3 which is a plus. My husband treated my daughter and me to brunch for Mother's Day. The ambience and setting were great. The food was sub-par for a Chart House, maybe even a fast food restaurant. I ordered fish and chips and my husband ordered the club sandwich. Safe choices, so we thought. The coating on the fish was rubbery and inedible. I only ate my soggy fries. My husband's sandwich was soggy. He ended up just eating the chicken cutlet inside, only because he was hungry. We tried to think of an excuse as to how it could be so bad...maybe since it was Mother's Day? I don't think we'll take the chance of getting another awful meal there. read more

Chart house is a very elegant restaurant, with a knowledgeable waitstaff. This was my first time to dine here. When I looked online at the menus, I had no idea it was a country club. On the Golden Nuggets website it seemed like it would be in with all the other restaurants. They did have a driver that would shuttle form any point in the Golden Nugget to the restaurant. For the price of the food, I would say it was not worth it. The two dishes we got, which were menu items they are known for, had no taste at all. I think I could make more flavorful mashed potatoes and rice then what I was given. My mahi was made with a lemon butter sauce that was pretty tasty. We ordered the New Orleans oyster appetizer to start, it was basically broiled oysters topped with some Parmesan cheese. Nothing fancy there. I should've ordered the fresh oysters instead. The dining experience at chart house was very lovely but I do not believe the food lived up to my expectation or to the price you pay. read more

Very friendly staff, as are most Landry's brand establishments. The country-club- style restaurant sits on the backside of the Golden Nugget hotel and Casino, just off the golf course. It looks like the golf clubhouse. Great Sunday brunch menu, with a nice airy and open setting. I would love to return for dinner. read more

Every elegant setting overlooking golf course. Appetizers including lobster bisque was superb. Hubby had sea bass and it was well prepared. My mahi-mahi was tough and tasted fishy, not mild and sweet. Wine list is extensive and gin berry smash was very refreshing. read more

In comparison to world known Chart Houses it's probably a 4 star, however for Louisiana and casinos in general it's definitely a 5 star restaurant. Short walk from the hotel. When I heard there was a restaurant at the Golden Nugget on the golf course property I assumed it would be nothing more than a typical burger and sandwich stop. Let me tell you that assumption was 100% wrong. Chart House has what I consider the best menu of the entire Golden Nugget complex. In fact, the meal that I enjoyed was as good as some of the best restaurants I have ever experienced! The lamb chops were some of the best I have had anywhere from Vegas to New Orleans. Chart house being away from the casino area also gives it a quieter, more calm and charming ambiance than any of the other options at GN. I was able to meet the manager as well as the chef who were both pleased to hear we enjoyed our meal so much. I rate this restaurant above Vic & Anthony's which is very good in its own right. Give Chart House a try next time you go to GN. You won't be disappointed! read more

For the past 15 years we have been taking our adult children and their spouses to a private dining room in a Resturant in Beaumont because we didn't know of any Resturant in Lake Charles that had a private dining room until we heard of the Chart House. So 4 weeks before our scheduled dinner I called and made a reservation for the private dining room at the Chart House. I specifically asked if there was a fee for reserving it and was told no. I asked if there would be a written confirmation of my reservation and was told "no don't worry I've got it down". But I decided to call and check the morning of our reservation if I could come a little early to put presents at the table and that's when I was told we didn't have the private dining room. They had given that reservation to another party who had paid the fee. I couldn't believe it! But all I got was "I'm sorry" and "our sales team handles parties of 10 or more (we only had 8)". No explanation of why they didn't call me first to ask if I would pay a fee (I would have)or at the very least let me know they were canceling my reservation so I would have had time to make one again at our Beaumont resturant. Because it was only hours before our reservation we went on to the Chart House where they seated us "by the fireplace". There was no offer of any compensation ( a discount, a free appetizer for goodness sake...nothing!). When we arrived no personal apology from the manager that I had spoken to. The whole issue felt like they had a take it or leave it attitude when they mess up. Very disappointing. We will leave it from now on! read more

Dessert was also very good, although felt rushed & pushed to order it ( chocolate lava cake) before we had even received our entrees - because it takes 1/2 hr to prepare. All around we felt rushed, bill was brought out prior to being asked if we wanted anything else. Service was okay, not bad, but not great. I was disappointed with the actual restaurant. We were looking for somewhere special to celebrate a special event. It seems like the Chart House has a bit of identity crisis on whether it wants to be a golf club house, where customers are coming in off the greens in golf attire or an elegant high end restaurant. We dressed elegantly & felt uncomfortable as majority of ppl there were dressed casually & had just finished a round of golf. Omg what a disappointment! The appetizers were ok. The calamari and coconut shrimp was good but the mini crab cakes were too salty and inedible. I ordered the sea bass with shrimp and crab meat topper was sooooo salty that it was inedible then they replaced that with prime rib.... too salty! Sent that back. Gave up and left.
