The ambience, the large windows as you walk in create an atmosphere for a perfect location to celebrate that special day! The coconut shrimp and aioli calamari is a must. If I had to pick one of the two I would go with the calamari since it's a bigger portion. The lobster bisque was smooth and creamy even though I would have liked more lobster chunks in there. My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered our food and went to put salt on our food. The salt was stuck and wouldn't come out, when we checked we saw was scary and disgusting. It looked like there was green moldly like substance on the shaker. We showed the waiter and he removed the shaker and brought salt in a container. The waiter Jason seemed to be a little angry that we asked. So we then spoke with the manager Lisa (I think). She apologized still without explanation of what it was. However she did offer to replace my entree which was the 10oz Prime Rib from the chart house special. I thought she had been accommodating and when sent over a bigger cut of prime rib until I received my bill. She removed the prime rib I originally ordered and replaced it with a bigger cut and CHARGRD ME FOR THE BIGGER CUT!!! That is not what I requested. I only requested for my food to be replaced. The ultimate dining experience. I have to shoutout our waiter who also acted as our photographer. I've been here a thousand times for happy hour when I worked in the area but never ate. The meal was extraordinary. It is great for group dinners, special occasions or romantic. In this case we went for a group birthday dinner. The prices are not that expensive as I thought. It looks aesthetically pleasing and it's a huge plate of food, but it doesn't have that extra "oomph" in taste -lobster tail - juicy, tender, cooked perfectly right. those potatoes were delicious, well seasoned, crispy exterior -hot chocolate lava cake with their seasonal home made peanut butter ice cream - okay that this point you may think you're full, but you need to get their lava cake! it's just as good as it sounds, don't triple think it and just do it! I celebrated my birthday at chart house on the 4th of July. We started with pulling up in the front and having the valet service park the car. We got a warm welcome from the host at the front and was seated fairly quickly for our 7pm reservation. Ambiance: Best views of the city accompanied by beautiful waterfront views! We sat inside towards the back and the high ceiling windows gave us beautiful views. The inside is clean, classy, and upscale. The only downside was we could not see this years fireworks crystal clear because of where they went off in the city. The Macy's fireworks were blocked by NYC city building. The Hudson fireworks could be partially seen from the distance but they weren't as close up as I thought they would be. The service: our waitress was attentive, sweet, and detail oriented. She made me feel important and gave great feedback to our questions. I also got a free desert for my birthday! The food: My group and I had a late brunch so e were all super full but when our food came out everything looked amazing we couldn't resist. We all enjoyed our food despite being full already. Everything came out beautiful, was hot, and tasted great. My steak was delicious and juicy I highly recommend! A lot of the appetizers are really good but the best one was the coconut crispy shrimp. This is the most epic view of the NYC skyline minus all the NYC chaos. What a lovely evening. We celebrated a birthday here and the wait staff was extremely friendly. The ambiance set the tone for a romantic evening. We were seated in a cozy booth area. It felt like we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The appetizers were great and the wine suggestion was on point. Our server suggested a wine from Lodi, a region my family is from in California. Felt a bit a home in a distance sense. 5/5 Kim chee calamari was on point. It was crispy while still having that easy bite to it; the calamari was fried to perfection. 5/5 half shell oysters on ice. What a refreshing treat and what a helluva way to start a meal. Oysters were fresh and not salty. Wish they chucked the other meat off completely. Only regret was not ordering a complete dozen. 5/5 hummus platter. The hummus and guacamole were fresh and great. The natural taste of the ingredients were most prominent. I like that the use of very little seasoning did not "steal the spotlight" from the actual dipping ingredients. 4/5: 14oz New York strip. I asked for medium well and it came out well. I got it with a side of chimichurri butter. The chimichurri butter lacked flavor and for some odd reason it didn't seem to pair nicely with the steak. I wish they used olive oil instead. 2/5: Sea bass with miso entree. The was the least impressive dish we tried. The fish lacked any seasoning. The planko crumbs were still cold to the touch and they didn't even cook the planko straight through. The dish itself felt overwhelming. Almost as if the chef decided to throw every Asian ingredient he/ she had together hoping it would stick. Dessert: key lime pie. Wow. Wow. And wow. Soooo good. I will say that I normally avoid restaurants like this because they're generally overpriced, however with the friendliness and swiftness of the server along with the tasty food, I think it made up for the price. I initially tried to make a reservation on OpenTable, but it said it was booked so I called in and luckily they had seating available, so I suggest calling in. I wasn't asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor so we were seated indoor. Something to keep in mind when you book! My server, I don't remember her name, greeted us fairly quickly. She checked on us often, let us know when our food would arrive, and came back often to refill our drinks and make friendly conversation with the table. It definitely contributed to why I'm rating Charthouse a 5. I can't drink alcohol, so I started with a faux-jito which I was very satisfied with! For apps, started off with the Spinach Artichoke dip as well as the Fried Calamari. We were all pretty surprised at how tasty the dip was. While this isn't something I'd usually get at a seafood/steak house, I'm happy I did. The calamari was super flavorful too. As for the entree, I ordered the Chart Your Course and got the lobster bisque soup, prime rib, and chocolate lava cake. The soup was delicious and the prime rib was cooked perfectly! I will say though that this place was way more booked than I thought it would be during covid times. I've been here a few times so I can vouch that the food is on point. Arrived at 2 PM for a late lunch. The ambiance was splendid as we were able to have a table by the window. The restaurant was quiet and the waiter Nicholas, from the moment we sat down, provided us with outstanding service. However, the food we ordered and were served was a disappointment: the shrimp in the shrimp Stack was blended with too many ingredients. We didn't bother with the rest of the stack. The salmon steak was a very small portion and dried. Caesar salad was ordinary with a little too much pepper. The biggest disappointment was the crab cake that was less than half inch thick and maybe 2 inches in diameter, surrounded with kernels of cord, not much for $23. Our favorite part of the meal is a dessert with the three different scoops of ice cream a lime a strawberry and a very tasty orange. We were able to sit for at least three hours with no one bothering us. By the time we left the huge parking lot was nearly full & the main dining room was beginning to get crowded but still the tables of spaced far enough apart that you could enjoy having a pleasant conversation. read more

I haven't been to this location in a long time so we went for our anniversary. We went on a Monday at 5, early dinner. First, the $10 parking is not necessary. As long as the lot is for the restaurant, we should've parked ourselves. It wasn't giving off upscale/valet vibes that night. I say that to repeat another Yelp review. We were dressed for a nice dinner. People at the bar for happy hour and people seated near us at dinner were dressed for a summer bbq or baseball game. Many people actually were dressed nicely, but enough were not to be off-putting. Keep a standard, enforce dress code. We had to wait to be seated so we had drinks at the bar. Some areas of the restaurant could be 'dusted' to keep that expensive vibe (the decor, shelves by the tables that customers can see). We were seated by the water and given a menu that said, near the top, "Happy Anniversary" (cute touch, personalized, but same size font so my husband missed the message). We ordered an app, a salad, and dinner. The appetizer was tasty, loved the extras on the plate but the shrimp were a little overcooked, tough to peel away the longer shells of the tails. Caesar salad was....Caesar salad. We ordered our meals (prime rib with mashed potatoes and halibut over a cauliflower puree) and asparagus to share. The prime rib dinner was absolutely delicious. Glad it was 18 ounces because if so much fat but that's what you get with prime rib. The halibut was also delicious, however you'll see in the picture, they forgot the cauliflower underneath. My husband was halfway through and the server brought a bowl of puréed cauliflower-she had noticed it missing. That was tasty, just an afterthought. We didn't each much asparagus, it was thicker and a little too 'crunchy' for me. I did take it home and air dry it as a leftover and it was much more tender and flavorful. Before we left the server brought a card over that thanks us for celebrating our anniversary. It's a fuzzy older postcard type pic of the Chart House. The handwritten note was a nice touch, but the printed picture on the card should be better quality, if you're trying to go the extra mile. 4 stars because the views are still amazing. I was beyond disappointed this year with what arrived on the table. The pricing was about the same - but the portion was literally half of what I'd gotten in past years. And the kitchen forgot to add the melted butter to my plate and by the time our waiter came to check on our order, I was almost done. Our waiter was pleasant enough but very inattentive. They had ran out of the chimichurri steak. My pasta was just okay & the other dish was alright think it was a chuck steak or rib, something of the sort. Excellent place for a date night! But you absolutely have to make reservations, otherwise you'll never get in. Would also recommend planning to spend quite a few bucks while you are here. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and water front so you are pretty much guaranteed a beautiful view. Try to go at night but I'm sure it would be excellent for lunch as well. Would highly recommend the stacked avocado and tuna as well as the Mac nut mahi. I will say my husband got a bunch of sides such as the creamed spinach and asparagus and they don't disappoint! The staff was excellent and accommodating and let me tell you I love their bread! Why not 4 stars? I still had to wait a bit despite making a reservation so it wasn't the smoothest experience. Just enjoyed an anniversary dinner at Chart House with my wife. I wavered between 4 and 5 stars and could certainly justify either. When we arrived, we found that the valet was $10. (Had I read Yelp beforehand I would have known that you don't have to use the valet, I'm sure they weren't excited to park my Subaru anyway) Once you get beyond the parking, you enter a gorgeous restaurant which takes advantage of their view. (My one gripe is that the view is partially obstructed by the party tent they have up for the outdoor seating) The waitress was very nice and they know how to allow diners to enjoy an occasion. Even in a full restaurant, that people were still entering at 9:15 pm, they never made us feel rushed. The view of the NYC skyline is impressive, the Hudson River isn't too shabby either. They asked if we were celebrating an event and we mentioned our anniversary (we're certainly not attention seekers but were happy to be celebrating 18 years of marriage). They decorated my dessert plate with an anniversary greeting in a very tasteful way. The manager stopped by to check in and make sure that we were enjoying ourselves. He was a true gentleman and we could tell he was proud of the establishment. You may (or may not) be wondering why I haven't mentioned the food yet. I use to come pretty frequently to the bar for happy hour, and have been to a few events upstairs (private parties) over the years. We recently came here for our anniversary in June. Chart House in Weehawken is beautiful. The waterfront view is definitely competing for top restaurant view in NJ if you get a pretty table in the center of the establishment. The service here is great, the waiters we had both times made our visit nice and easy by having great recommendations. For appetizers, I would definitely recommend the crab cake and Kim Chee calamari. Both were great but in my opinion, the Kim chee Calamari was definitely the better one out of the two. For mains you can't go wrong with the 9oz filet mignon. I got mine medium rare and it was cooked to perfection and tasted great. The Salmon is also a good option if you're looking for an alternative main. For sides, I recommend the cream spinach, since it pairs nicely with the filet. If you still have room for some dessert, I would say you should try the Chocolate Ripple Mud Pie out if you're an absolute chocolate enthusiast. I thought it was really good for the first few bites but I did find the chocolate a little tiring afterwards. So I would only recommend it if no chocolate is too much chocolate for you. For drinks, I had the Tableside Mojito Flight for two which comes with 3 different flavors. This is a very fun way to drink throughout your meal. Upon asking our waiter, it apparently only counts as 2 regular drinks so based on that information I would say having one of these for yourself is definitely a good option if you like trying different flavors out. Overall a great experience, but I would highly recommend trying to get a table in the center of the restaurant for the best view which will make your experience all that better. I think where you are seated can definitely be the difference between this place being a perfect 5/5 (like the first time we went) to a 4/5 (the second time we came due to the seating arrangement and view) read more

I always liked the Chart House and still do. You just can't beat the view. You feel like you can reach out and touch Manhattan. There's not a bad seat in the restaurant including the outside deck. Our reservations were honored right on time and our server, Jason, was very helpful with explaining the menu and his service was what you expect on a higher end restaurant and I feel reasonably priced. My negatives are (1) if you have a DRESS CODE of BUSINESS CASUAL UPSCALE and have a litany of what is not allowed and is STRICTLY ENFORCED ( not the night we were there ) enforce it. The table next to us had on Ball Caps and we saw people with cut off jeans, t-shirts, flip flops. What happened to the strictly enforced dress code. What happened to an upscale restaurant? My other negative (2) is pulling up to the Valet and seeing a sign saying Valet Parking $10.00. We didn't have him park our car and had to walk a distance because they blocked off so many spaces for the Valet on a Monday. I'm not cheap but that's just wrong. What a poor move on the restaurants part. It should be free. Your guess are coming to your restaurant to spend their money and you want to insult them by charging for a Valet. Bad move. read more
