WOW! This place is incredible!! The location and the view was just breathtaking. We got to sit outside by the water and it was such a wonderful experience. I had the Prime Rib, My sister had the Salmon and out Friend got the Shrimp and Pasta. Each of us got a special where we had lobster bisque and salad and dessert included for like $55 I think. Not bad. The menu was pretty pricey im pretty sure we're spent like $300 all together. We also had oysters which literally climbed out of the ocean and onto my tongue so exquisite I mean best I ever had type ish!.(2nd best is Papadeaux in IL). We also had coconut shrimp which again were perfect. No one could finish it was a good serving size and the salmon tasted as pretty as it looked. I ordered the butterfly effect drink and the video not pictured below is just incredible. They put tea on dry ice with tequila and then something else that makes it turn pink it was such a dope experience! Everyone was like wow how did you know I didn't I just got lucky. I recorded the whole experience and posted about it online. I see ppl go there for special occasions and where all dressed up from church or weddings and some folks like me were dressed down with shorts and a sweater as it is cold on the water. Chart House in Weehawken is beautiful. The waterfront view is definitely competing for top restaurant view in NJ if you get a pretty table in the center of the establishment. The service here is great, the waiters we had both times made our visit nice and easy by having great recommendations. For appetizers, I would definitely recommend the crab cake and Kim Chee calamari. Both were great but in my opinion, the Kim chee Calamari was definitely the better one out of the two. For mains you can't go wrong with the 9oz filet mignon. I got mine medium rare and it was cooked to perfection and tasted great. The Salmon is also a good option if you're looking for an alternative main. For sides, I recommend the cream spinach, since it pairs nicely with the filet. If you still have room for some dessert, I would say you should try the Chocolate Ripple Mud Pie out if you're an absolute chocolate enthusiast. I thought it was really good for the first few bites but I did find the chocolate a little tiring afterwards. So I would only recommend it if no chocolate is too much chocolate for you. For drinks, I had the Tableside Mojito Flight for two which comes with 3 different flavors. This is a very fun way to drink throughout your meal. Upon asking our waiter, it apparently only counts as 2 regular drinks so based on that information I would say having one of these for yourself is definitely a good option if you like trying different flavors out. Overall a great experience, but I would highly recommend trying to get a table in the center of the restaurant for the best view which will make your experience all that better. I have always loved Chart House but hadn't visited in a long while so when I got an email from Landry's (their restaurant group) of a special menu for a great price I decided to give it a try. It's a three course meal which includes a chopped salad or New England chowder; trio entrée of coconut shrimp, lobster tail and scallops with two sides and crème brûlée for dessert. I began with an Old Fashioned cocktail which was fantastic then onto my salad. A huge portion of crisp lettuce, tomato, radish, etc that made me sure the main dish would be small and disappointing. Well, was I wrong!!! I was given 4 butterflied shrimp, a 2 oz lobster tail and 2 massive scallops with fingerling potatoes and broccolini!!! Everything was cooked perfectly and so tasty. My mom wanted to go to this restaurant for her birthday. The only reservation time available was 9:15pm on a Friday and we booked it for 3 of us. There was plenty of parking available, and the view was incredible. Perfect for pictures. Upon arrival the front desk ladies' demeanor was not overly friendly, just attentive enough to not receive complaints. Our server was wonderful, and the ambience was pleasant with a lovely view. However, the food quality left much to be desired. The "Kim Chee" calamari was great, but lacked a kick of spiciness that was promised. The Cesar salad was not made with house made dressing and if it was, I could think of better store-bought dressing options. The salad plate was cold, the lettuce was soggy, and overall it gave me the impression that it had been sitting in the fridge for at least the past hour. The bread was stale, and I kid you not starting to mold. The lobster bisque was overly sweet, but thankfully the waiter removed it from our bill. The only standout dish was the tender steak, however, the mashed potatoes were underwhelming. The drinks (margaritas and other stuff) were wonderful and strong and it added to having a relaxed atmosphere, though not enough for me to ever want to return. Overall, I'm disappointed. I hope management takes this and the other low reviews in the past weeks to heart. Do better. Update: Less than 24hrs after writing my review, I received a call from Hans. He addressed all my concerns and went above and beyond in our conversation to make me want to go back and give it another try. We ordered the calamari, coconut shrimp and the shrimp, crab, avocado and mango stack to start. Everything was delicious- the coconut shrimp is some of the best I have ever had! The calamari and shrimp/crab stack were bursting with flavor. We also got a Caesar salad and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was amazing- lots of lobster chunks and the taste was on-point. Entrees- I went for the crab stuffed flounder. Pretty good, but I wasn't wowed. We finished with the hot chocolate lava cake which was awesome, so save room for dessert! Also recommend ordering a martini- they are strong and garnished with blue cheese stuffed olives (bonus points for the olives). Service was really good- friendly, helpful and well-paced. My only complaint is our server asked us if we were part of the rewards program at the beginning of our meal, for which we responded that we were not. He said he would tell us more about it later in the evening. When he handed us the bill, he said he signed us up for the rewards program- providing no additional information, and omitting that it was a $25 charge. I brought my Father here for his birthday and requested a table with a view and specified that we were celebrating a birthday when I put in the reservation. For apps we ordered Mediterranean Hummus Tasting which was delicious and the Crunchy Coconut Shrimp which were equally as good. For dinner my father ordered the Prime Rib Medium to Well which can to the table more rare then anything. I ordered the filet mignon well done which was a little more medium then I personally prefer. Made late night Birthday reservations a week in advance for Friday night. While I was getting ready the night of, I received a message from the restaurant saying that the kitchen will be closed before my reservation starts so they will not be honoring my reservations unless I come one hour early. I live in another state and was not able to make it at their requested time, so my bday was cancelled. Was unable to find replacement reservations so last minute so we had no plans.(sad af). Then my phone rings 5 minutes after my reservation time-asking my ETA! I said you guys canceled my reservations! Women said no we didn't we are waiting for you! She asked who left the message and when I told her she sighed and apologized and told me that shes not know why she cancelled my reservation and that the kitchen was NOT closing. I said they ruined my birthday, she was apologetic and said she will clear it up with the other staff member so that it doesn't happen to future guests. LoL.
