Finally tried Ruth's Chris and had a pretty good experience. I did the 3-course $60 special and added a cappuccino afterward. My entrée was steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes. The steak and shrimp were good, but the mashed potatoes were probably my favorite part. I also had the cheesecake for dessert. I'm not normally a cheesecake person, but it was fresh and enjoyable. Not overly sweet, which I actually liked. Unfortunately, I can't properly review the French onion soup because I had one bite and then accidentally left the rest in my takeout bag. ‍ Amanda was fantastic. Very attentive without hovering, which made dining solo really comfortable. The views were beautiful, and I actually stayed for a while after dinner just taking everything in. I also think this would be a great place for a professional meeting. The atmosphere is upscale but still comfortable enough to talk. Good experience overall. Took advantage of Ruth's Chris 3 course special for around $60 for a birthday meal. Totally worth it!!! We dine at all the great steakhouses and it's impossible to deny Ruth's steaks aren't among the very best. So when the offer a petite filet with mashed potatoes, a salad (or soup) and dessert for just over $60, you have to go! And they didn't skimp on the portions. A full size salad, full bowl of creamy mashed potatoes (my wife had spinach) and the 6 oz steak was topped with large jumbo shrimp. One of my favorite steakhouses. Me and my family comes here occasionally. They start us off with bread and butter. We ordered the porterhouse for two medium rare with sides of spinach, lobster mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. These sides are great for sharing. My favorite had to be the lobster Mac and cheese. Very creamy and cheesy The porter house was absolutely delicious, perfect texture and very well seasoned. We ended the night with their chocolate lava cake and a complementary cheesecake as it was my mom's birthday. Our server was very kind and checked up on us often and refilling our waters. We stay next door at the Sheraton quite often and have been dining our first night at Beneci's at the hotel most visits. Looking for a change, we crossed the street for dinner in the Ruth's Chris bar. The bar is a warm and inviting space; maybe less so toward the back, but near the bar, it's really pleasant. The zucchini fries were an excellent shared starter. The ahi tuna was well liked by the table as well. Looking for a lighter dinner, I went for the crab cakes with a wedge. A good choice, but the burger only available in the bar is still on my short list. Actually the biggest downside, and it's picky, the chairs, at least in the bar, I didn't find particularly comfortable, and after an hour or two, got bad leg cramps from them. But, hey, that certainly would not make me hesitate to return to the Roth's bar for a casual dinner. read more

Went to this location yesterday with my bf and his family. His steak came out overdone, their apology was that they "cut it in the kitchen and it was a perfect medium." So he swapped his steak for the stuffed chicken which came out raw. At this point everyone else finished their entrees so we decided to leave without him eating. The manager came over to apologize and said it's unusual or rare for this to happen because they just pop the chicken in, press a button and it's done in 20 mins. Should've just stuck to an apology instead of adding on a poor explanation. I got the burger which at first the waitress said they would only serve at the bar. The burger was cooked to my desired temp but it was unseasoned. Much to improve at this location. One positive, great views as it's on the water. But no one should be serving raw chicken in this day and age. I could understand an undercooked steak because that can always be brought up to the desired temp; but an overcooked steak and raw chicken all for the same customer, topped with a poor apology is unacceptable. They have a prixe fixe menu with a salad/lobster bisque, either steak/shrimp ($64) or steak/lobster (around $74) plus garlic whipped potatoes or creamed spinach and a dessert which was cheesecake. You can upgrade your steak for $$. Or you can order separate dishes like steak, lambchops, seafood, pasta. They had one vegetarian/vegan dish which sounded like broccoli steak. The sea bass on a bed of spinach was pretty good ($50) and a side of cremini mushrooms ($16). I don't think the sides are enough for family style unless everyone is only going to try a little. I don't generally love expensive restaurants because it feels overindulgent but for special occasions it's ok. The best thing about the experience was the server who was warm, attentive, and had a great disposition. There's not really much street parking. Further by the dog park there's 2 hr parking. Or they have $10 valet and a parking lot that you may have to pay to use. There's a bit of a view of the river in some seating area but not as nice as the Chart House. read more

That said, the Caesar salad is a must have. Crisp, flavorful, and done right. Unfortunately, the garlic mashed potatoes tasted more boiled than buttery, which was a letdown. Overall, it is a fine place with great ambiance and views, but if you have had Ruth's Chris in other states, especially in the South, you know they bring the real meat energy down there. Hubs' long-time friend and his wife specifically chose this Weehawken, NJ location as their favorite to exchange Saturday wedding vows and reception. As with many (if not all) Ruth Chris', their smaller dining rooms make it ideal for small gatherings or intimate weddings. Out of the couple of Ruth Chris' hubs and I have dined in, this one is huge. There's no direct parking onsite, but you can head over to a Municipal-type lot about a 2-minute walk from here. Hostess was pleasant and we followed her to an earthy-toned room giving a cozy feel to our friends' wedding. I think the chandeliers gave the entire room personality. While Ruth Chris may or may not (I'm going with the last) provide table decor, the wife's team brought votive candles and tall candle holders to create their own tablescape. Compared to another Ruth Chris hubs and I visited in White Plains with second-rate service and food, this Weehawken location served very tasty food with steak temped accordingly as well as my Salmon. 3.5 stars Of the many steakhouse chains across the nation, Ruth's Chris was one of the last ones for me to visit, but I finally had the chance to give it a try recently. We arrived at the Weehawken location via Uber, which seemed to be a wise decision, given that valet parking came at a $10 cost. The upscale dining room led you to believe that you were out in a quiet suburb, away from the hustle and bustle of neighboring Hoboken and Jersey City. However, a glance out the floor-to-ceiling windows reminded you that you were also right across from the glittering Manhattan skyline. Granted, there was a road in between the restaurant and the water with the occasional bus passing through, but it was still a prime location. Our server, Karol, was sweet, bubbly, and efficient. When I was unsure of my preference for a glass of wine, she let me try the Daou Cabernet Sauvignon, a brand I had been hearing a lot about recently. I found it acidic and puckeringly dry, so I switched to the Belle Glos "Clark and Telephone" Pinot Noir, which was rich, sweet, and full-bodied. The hearty red wine was available in both 6- and 9-ounce pours, but I decided to indulge with the larger size, which was perfect for the length of our meal. While we waited for our food to arrive, we dug into the complimentary loaf of crusty, fluffy sourdough with its side of whipped butter. For my entrée, I went for the two 4-ounce Petite Filets medallions with 6 large shrimp. The steak was tender and flavorful, seasoned with salt, pepper, and butter. My cuts were also very lean, while my boyfriend found his 11-ounce filet had a decent amount of fat around its edges. The shrimp were oddly seasoned on only one side and were not cooked through, leaving them rather rubbery. My side of Cremini Mushrooms, on the other hand, was flawless! The fungi had been pan-roasted in a rich veal demi-glaze that had been infused with fresh thyme. The mushrooms were earthly, bold, not overly greasy (as they often are at steakhouses), and just plain heavenly. So, for the most part, our experience at Ruth's Chris was rather enjoyable. We just felt like it was just "fine" and not one of our better steakhouse meals. read more

I been here twice and both time the service was excellent. What I love about this place is they serve their food at the right temperature. The seafood towers come out with lots of ice and the the seafood is nice and cold. The gigantic shrimp cocktail from the seafood tower is sweet and crisp. Love it! When the main course is served, the waiter make sure to let you know the plates are hot. All the food and the rested steak comes out piping hot on heated plates. I am really sick and tired of ordering from here to go home to find no stuffing in the STUFFED CHICKEN and what makes matters worse is that we paid for extra stuffing. We order from here often because it's healthy and it's down the street from our home. We usually do it through Uber eats so we hope and pray that there is stuffing and extra stuffing when it arrives. My sister had her small wedding here a few weeks ago in a private room. Service at times was slow. We were waiting for everyone to get their drinks before making toasts and it took about 15 minutes for all to receive. At the end of the meal, the bill came, a credit card was handed over, and we waited 20 minutes for the paper to sign. I asked for my daughters already paid meal to go and it was brought out at the end without any reminders from me. Thumbs up! Liquor was refilled quickly, but water had to be asked for.
