Billy (or "Billysteve") is such a nice, laid back dude. Just the way I like them. I recently decided to purchase keyless locks for my two doors downstairs (much less hassle than having to keep up with keys) so after reading Yelp reviews I called Billysteve to come put them in. Luckily he has seen these things before and knew how to program and install. This was really helpful since I had 2 different brands of keypad locks and they were a little different. Rather than having to sift through the manual to understand how to use the override master key he was able to show me all the tips and tricks of such. This was the exact reason why I wanted a professional locksmith to come out and do this job since he had experience with such. I wanted to get a lock and knob for my storage closet downstairs to that I could have added security and Billy had the idea to use my old front door lock for such. Bingo! He didn't even charge me a bunch of extra money for this quick switch. AND he was able to make a master key that would work on this old door that matched the override keys on my other locks. My husband and I have used Chastity Lock and Key for home lock repairs in the past and the owner, Billysteve, has always done an absolutely fantastic job for us, so when my elderly father's desk drawer lock broke, I should've contacted Chastity immediately to see about getting it repaired. However, it simply didn't occur to me at the time that this is something that Billysteve could help us resolve. I initially attempted to find an office furniture place here in town to repair it, but was told by two separate companies that they send all their broken locks to Cothron's. My visit there was extremely short. Not only was the man I dealt with completely disinterested in dealing with me, but he was downright disrespectful to my eighty-year-old mother, telling her, "NAH, we're not doing to work on that for you," and sticking his hand right up in her face. He then told us to go find an antique store "somewhere" and see if someone there could help us. Well, guess what, Cothron's? NAH, we're not going to ever bring you any more business! Billysteve and Chastity to the rescue! I texted him with an explanation of the problem and photos of the drawer, and he replied just as quickly that he thought he would be able to help us. In an incredibly short period of time, he was able to: 1) completely take apart the drawer, which was not a straightforward procedure, 2) remove the desk drawer lock mechanism to discover that it is no longer being manufactured, 3) search online and find a suitable replacement for it, 4) reassemble the drawer, and 5) return it to me in perfect condition, cheerfully and all for an extremely reasonable price. I needed to get the mortise lock on my front door modified from an emergency egress to non-emergency. I went with Chastity Lock and Key solely based on Yelp reviews and he completely lived up to his reputation. Was very friendly on the phone and came to the appointment on time. It turned out that the procedure was more complicated than the manufacturer led on and he had to take it to his shop and come back. Chastity Lock and Key was the only one of several locksmiths I called over the weekend who returned my call. When I called him back on Monday, he was right there with me and had experience with the problem I was having (with a stuck latch). I thought it would require using a hacksaw or taking the door off the hinges, but he reassured me that he had been able to pull out the spindle in other cases and that would probably be all that was needed. (And it was!) I called him again on Tuesday, thinking I would need to look for a new door knob and lock to replace the old one, and he said he carried the part that was broken in mine and would install that with the old door knob and lock (saving me some bucks!). True to his word, when he came on Tuesday, he worked and pulled out the stuck spindle and broken latch and replaced it with a new spindle and the original door knob in about 10 minutes. I was very happy -- great customer service, knowledgeable expertise, and reasonable price! If I ever have another problem like that, i will definitely call him (and meanwhile will refer him to my friends)! read more
