We stayed in Room 10 which features a king size bed and a large soaking tub. The bed was comfortable, clean, and the bathroom was sizable. On day 1 I had the apple crumble French toast (AMAZING) and I'm not even a big French toast guy. Your table has fresh orange juice, water, and coffee/tea when you come down and get seated. Loved this. On day 2 I had the traditional breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly. The staff was friendly and accommodating - as expected from a well run B&B. We were on site for a small gathering of gamer friends and so I also tried some of their offerings in the small cafe. I tried Italian wedding soup for lunch and got several hot tea drinks. All excellent. They have a small "snack room" near the main entrance that has popcorn, and water, coffee maker, and other small amenities to make your stay more enjoyable. Overall, this was one of the most visitor-focused B&B we've had the pleasure of staying in. It sounds obvious to say that, but it his place really puts your money to work to make you enjoy your stay. I'm out and about in the Pocono's with 5 of my friends. First stop of the day was the Chat n Chew. I ordered the French Toast Sandwich and coffee. The sandwich consisted of a slice of French toast, a generous portion of your of choice of meat (mine was ham), a second layer of French toast, more ham, eggs (I chose sunny side up) and a third layer of French toast sprinkled with confectioners' sugar. It was as huge as it was delicious. Plus the coffee kept coming at no additional cost. I was full and content. This place is amazing and the staff is super friendly. Even taking time to joke with my friend who is obviously a frequent dinner. I certainly will return here for breakfast before heading back home next week. read more

A review from one of the locals. After living here year round for 10 years. The power was out over the weekend. So with the food In the refrigerator spoiled . I decided to try out one of the local sit downs over the usual fast food choices. Breakfasts at the Chat'n Chew are the closest thing to home cooking in my opinion The fresh brewed coffee was excellent and my server kept that cup full at all times I had The Meat Lovers omelette with home fried Potato's and wheat toast I can see and taste why The Chat 'n Chew Is a favorite of locals and tourists alike I will be returning again soon read more

Come here for breakfast at least twice a week. True laid back country style dinner serving really good home cooking, generous portions, awesome coffee and a healthy dose of friendliness. The servers back each other up, so your coffee cup will never go empty unless you turn the refill away. Food orders generally come out within 5-10 minutes which is amazing given the variety, portion and how busy this place gets. From the minute you meet your server to the moment you check out at the register, the staff at the Chat n Chew makes you feel like you belong. I just love this place! read more

I had never heard of this before and I asked the owner what he suggested and after he said "everything", he said if I liked lamb then this was it. He couldn't be more correct. The lamb was tender and juicy, the roll was a nice sturdy Kaiser, and the pickled cabbage added a nice little acidity and juiciness to this sandwich as well. Next time in I ordered the "Phat Boy" and the Roast Beef sandwich. Both were incredible. The phat boy had fried eggs, cheese, pork roll (or Taylor Ham depending who you ask), bacon, and sausage on that same Kaiser roll. Everything was amazing, but the flavor of the sausage really shined through on this and created an experience I want over and over again. You could truly taste the freshness of the meat and delicious fennel flavor. This roast beef sandwich rivals (if not beats) the amazing roast beef sandwiches of my youth in Brooklyn from places like Brennan and Carr as well as Roll N' Roaster. The meat is incredibly tender, I was barely even chewing and it was just melting away in my mouth. The au jus added some nice flavor and moisture, and the horseradish mayo was (as it always is) a wonderful touch on a quality roast beef sandwich. The last time in (again on his suggestion) I went with the lamb burger. Another homerun. The meat was tender and cooked medium rare. The bun again was that same crusty Kaiser roll which I personally love for burgers. Just the addition of lettuce, tomato, and his Rooster sauce so to not overpower the flavor of the meat. This was seriously fantastic and somehow honestly probably the lowest on my list of items I loved here...that's how good everything else has been. Run, don't walk to get here. She asked for bacon instead and for homefries with the peppers and onions. The order she got was a western omlette with ham and a hash brown. She called 3 times before someone picked up at this point it's now 2:35pm. She explained to the woman what occurred. The woman then told her yeah we ran out of bacon this weekend so we gave you ham. My sister said I understand you ran out of bacon but I was given an order that I didn't ask for. My sister does not eat ham, and cannot eat this meal she was given. The employee then tells her "well like I said we ran out of bacon so there's nothing I can do for you" with attitude. So my sister told her "the order should've never been given to me to begin with. If there was an issue with missing ingredients then I should've been informed." A restaurant does not have the right to create what ever meal seems fit and then charge the client. If you're paid for a service, your job is to fulfill that service, not wing it and make executive decisions at someone's expense. The employee should have told person picking up the meal that there was no bacon and then they could decide whether they wanted the meal with ham, wanted to order something else, or cancel. Being that the order was placed over the phone the duty of the restaurant was to call my sister back and give notice of the situation, with solutions or different options. My sister then told the woman this was paid with a card and she would like a refund being that this was their error and no one ia going to eat the meal. The employee had the audacity to say no. They're closed. How are you closed and picking up the phone at the restaurant? Actually, how are you closed at 2:37 when your hours are to 3pm. If you can answer calls, take people's money, then you can process a refund. My sister then asked if she could at least have her name written down so management can either have the meal remade tomorrow the way it was requested or refunded. My sister was doing the job of the rude employee and was trying to look for reasonable solutions. The employee said " I mean I don't even know if they'll have bacon tomorrow like I said we ran out". My sister told her she doesn't care if there's no bacon, just a refund. My sister didn't receive the western omlette with bacon nor did she receive the home fries. She was given an entirely different order. The employee once again with an attitude said " I don't know, come tomorrow and maybe someone can help you." My sister then told her "no there's no maybe's, you can't just decide to give a customer whatever you want because you ran out of ingredients and say yeah I cant help you, or maybe someone will." The female employee then hung up the phone on my sister. This is very poor customer service and I'm highly disappointed with how they handled the matter. Management needs to train their staff on professionalism and accountability. Order accuracy is a BASIC STANDARD. Refusal to fix the mistake shows a LACK of respect for the customer's time and money and hanging up is RUDE. A business that cannot handle situations with honesty and integrity doesn't deserve to have a business or customer loyalty.
