Great stop for a relaxed breakfast with a great view of the lake. Amazing options on the breakfast menu--husband had Banana Foster pancakes, kiddo had kid's pancakes and bacon, and I had the Smoked Salmon platter. Banana Foster pancakes were super fluffy and gone so quickly! :) they give you amazing whipped butter that melts like a dream! Even the kiddo's pancakes were gone in an instant! I might be biased but my platter was the winner. A toasted bagel sliced in half, about 6 or 7 rolled slices of smoked salmon, a TON of capers, diced red onion, diced tomatoes, diced hard boiled eggs, and a nice sized serving of cream cheese. Oh man. It was amazing. I totally over ate and I'd gladly do it again!! There was a buffet available at the same time but I'm not sure if that's only available on Sundays. Coffee was great tasting and they bring your own carafe to the table. Orange juice and chocolate milk were free refills. Ambiance is lovely. Great views of the lake. The staff do try, but it's quite clear they are not well-trained. We ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and were not offered a taste and then the waiter poured it in a dirty glass, then when we brought that to his attention, he brought another glass and offered to pour the wine from one glass to another, then when we declined, he left the FULL dirty glass on the table after bringing a new one. After our food arrived, the waiter never checked back on us. We order an Old Fashioned w/upgraded whiskey and that came watered down in a glass full of ice. The margarita with premium tequila was just ok as it was made with a low quality mix. The food was also "just ok" and the burger was more of a hockey puck than a burger. To the waiter's credit, he never asked us how we wanted our food cooked, so perhaps he shouldn't be held responsible for the overdone food? Overall, nice hotel, crappy grille. read more

There is no way this place deserves one star on here... it's such a shame that there is only one review. After searching and investigating as many finer dining options as we could in the Branson area, my mom was dead set on wanting a rack of lamb. It was their 40th anniversary and we wanted a nice place to share anniversary dinner. After being told repeatedly "You're not going to find rack of lamb in Branson." We finally heard about Chateau on the Lake. We had to go there and ask the hostess to go back and make sure the Chef actually had rack of lamb in his fridge since so many places had been out of so many things. She assured us that they did in fact and we made a reservation for the next evening. The place is gorgeous and worth seeing itself, especially at Christmas. We arrived the next day and had a wonderful dinner. It began with a smoked salmon and creme fraisch amuse bouche sent out by the Chef. I had the veal with house made mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes... amazing. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her long awaited rack of lamb, and my dad loved his Chilean sea bass. We recently ate here and my salmon was overdone. It was actually crunchy. The risotto was not creamy at all but in clumps on my plate. The sautéed spinach and seared tomatoes looked sloppy on the plate. I would have sent it back but my husband was enjoying his beef and it looked like it was properly cooked. I laughed as the waitress kept trying to suggest fresh bananas be added to a dessert to replace banana chips. Why not just change it for the better? The view is beautiful. Atmosphere was good. Nice to have a person play the piano while you eat. But the main course was not good. We were a party of 7 celebrating my birthday. The appetizers are good, bread was ok and the dips a nice touch. I had the cauliflower stake and it was horribly undercooked. The tomatoes and spinach mix was not great either. Beautiful view! If you stay here I highly recommend a room up top and with lake view. You will pay more but it's worth it. Also the concierge service is great here, April helps us find where to eat and what to do. They will let you look at the room before booking it which I love! Elevators are very quick. And the lobby is beautiful. But sadly that's where the good stuff ends. Parking is a nightmare. Signs posted everywhere about them not being responsible if your stuff is stolen. Even the closest spot is a long up hill walk. They have a have a parking garage but it's only 2 stories and mostly staff, also very creepy. Then the room, we got a good size room with a amazing view. Towels were good as well as the bed. The Tv would cut in and out and signal was a problem. The coffee maker did not work. Add that that with alarms going off through the night and the staff coming on the intercom apologizing. Happened at least 4 times I heard. Also no breakfast is provided which is way to common at these high end places. read more

We were staying at the Chateau for 4 nights so we tried various grill options during our stay. Overall, I would say everything was good but not great. The tasty items we had were the daily buffet breakfast (good variety of options/not a bad price), avocado fries, calamari (marinara was superb), and the chocolate cake. The not so great were the prime rib nachos (very gristly bits of meat), chicken sandwich (very dry), hummus plate (hummus not a creamy texture). read more

Vacationed in Branson the week of 5-13-17 thru 5-19-17. On 5-16-17 we ate lunch at the Atrium inside The Chateau. Our server was Sandra. We experienced outstanding service from her. We ordered the hummus platter and the chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad sandwich was delicious. On 5-18-17 we ate dinner at the restaurant inside The Chateau. Once again our waitress was Sandra, (what are the odds on that?) we were pleased it was her since she showed us excellent service 2 days prior. Sandra remembered us too! We ordered the pork chops and the filet mignon. They were both juicy, tender, and very flavorful! The chefs compliment appetizer was shrimp with mango on a crispy chip, delicious. Then to cleanse your palette before the entrees arrived, was a watermelon frozen sorbet like dish. Oh and the bread , oh the bread was so good! We also ordered moscato wine. My first night here the service was amazing and the meal was delicious. The second time here for lunch was just terrible and I am so disappointed because you pay so much for this hotel to begin with. My waitress didn't speak any English, I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad. When it came out half of the salad was gone and there was no chicken. So I got brought out a saucer of cut up chicken... and a side bowl of lettuce... lol idk if this was some kind of joke but the plate should have been taken back all around, prepared, and brought out to me once correct... i had 3 random plates of food brought to me to add to my own salad Then once the check came the cut up chicken on a plate was put on my mothers check not mine... I did ask for the side of bread made specially for the Hotel but she said she'd have to charge me $7 for bread.... you'd think at this point I would just get the bread for free considering my meal was so messed up. honestly so disappointed lunch was so frustrating for how much I have spent at this hotel. A hotel this high end shouldn't have someone who can't speak simple English at it. It just makes for frustrated guests. The breakfast last Saturday was lame because menu items were not recommended as they had trouble with their vents so we were pushed towards the buffet, which was weak. Half of the stuff offered was either almost empty and thus hardened or empty - like bacon. How can you have a buffet without bacon? They should have just closed. Food was just 'OK' for the cost. The service matches with an 'OK'. The waitress asked us, instead of how is everything, 'everything is fantastic here?'. With these prices you want a waiter or waitress that is top notch. There were basics that were missed here. I used to be a waitress and I know it is not an easy job and i know what is expected. She was Denny's level. She shared she has been there for some time. Never asked if we wanted ground pepper on salad. Food was warm at best. We finally decided to let blondie know everything 'wasn't fantastic' and we complained about the after dinner coffee. It was very weak and bland. She responded, "most people like our coffee and talk about our great blend". ugh, and so what are you saying, we both font know what good coffee is? wrong answer even if you worked at Denny's. She never went to try and get a new pot or anything. She had the nerve to just refill our cups with more hot water /coffee after her rediculous comment... With a bottle of wine, 4 dinners with soup & salad & 2 of us getting dessert-$400.( we had vouchers to cover 3/4 of the bill) thank God Great view, great company with OK food & OK service. read more

This was our first visit to the Branson area and we always research local restaurants prior to our trips. Since we live south of Santa Barbara, CA we think we seafood connoisseurs, frequent very fine restaurants and are rather tough to please. Chilean Seabass is a gourmet entree of the past here on the West Coast so you are lucky to find it on the menu of even the finest restaurants. Consequently, we were thrilled to find that it is a standard item at the Chateau Grill and its presentation was perfect. So thrilled that we went back five evenings after our first visit and ordered it again. The atmosphere is elegant and the wine list is superb and affordable. Graat location, and the resort probably deserves the high ratings it has been given. This rating, however is for the signature restaurant located on the premises. We went there for dinner before a show and arrived at 6PM. Even with only 10% of the tables occupied we barely managed to eat our entree by 7:30 when we had to leave. Very expensive with dishes that did not live up to their promising descriptions, served lukewarm or cold after an unexplained delay. The best any of the eight of us could say was "OK!" We arrived without a reservation early in the evening and got eyes rolled at us by the hostess then we were reluctantly seated in the restaurant to find out we were the only ones in there so we were unsure about the restaurant to start out with. We started with the shrimp 3 ways which was very very good. The waiter gave us a sample of some tuna salad which tasted just like it sounds...like tuna salad. The bread was homemade rye and sourdough with flavored butters and they were very very good. They offered "yesterday's" soup which we didn't really like the sound of. My husband had the Caesar salad and loved it. Both of us had the rib eye. It was cooked perfectly and we loved the seasoning. It came with asparagus which was very good. This is a beautiful venue but fine dining depends on food and service. We had the Oyster flight, Steak, Braised beef ribs. The oysters were all so over cooked you only tasted the breading, the panko, or the spinach and the ones served on shells had bits of loose shell in them. 9 oysters for 21 dollars ... the steak was not tender at all but it was cooked to the correct temp....the beef ribs were tender and well cooked but the yucca hash was not completely done. Our server was not engaged in serving. The table next to us with a different server, got an amuse bouche and a palate cleansing sorbet. For 160 dollars for one appetizer, 2 entrees, and their cheapest bottle of Pinot Noir, the quality of the food and the service was not worth the expense. read more

The good: The pork chop was wonderful, great flavor. The waitress and hostess were friendly. The bad: It was a slow night so they moved the smaller restaurant in Chateau Grille. They had one waitress running around (literally running at one point) from table to table. This caused many mixups and forgotten items. My husband and I are local and had heard many great things about Chateau Grille and were very excited to celebrate here. Overall it was a disappointment. We plan on returning to Chateau on the Lake but not Chateau Grille. read more

WE went to lunch at the Chateau Grill on the last day of our vacation. The food was amazing. Several of us had the Lobster and Crab BLT, which also had avocado and an amazing sauce. The French Dip sandwich was large and savory, and the deep fried cod was tender and flaky. The appetizers were tasty and generous in size. A party of 8 ordered 2 and had 3 delivered (the chef added avocado fries - yum) and there was plenty for all. Service was professional, timely, attentive and friendly. This will be a very special memory. It was the most elaborate and "fancy" restaurant my granddaughter had ever experienced. read more

The red pepper risotto was like MUSH! It was inedible and didn't resemble rice at all. The chef should be ashamed of themselves. The Chilean sea bass was cooked well. The horseradish potato cakes were over cooked and dry. The scallop and pork belly wasn't anything to write home about, it was $16 for a single scallop and a half a piece of thick cut bacon. The empanadas lacked in presentation but that and harvest salad were tasty. The duck breast and steak had lots of fat that hadn't been rendered off and while the lobster bisque had potential it was extremely salty. Breakfast buffet wasn't bad.
