Visited Chateau Lemongrass for a late lunch on a Sunday. The small place wasn't very busy and there was plenty of street parking. Their pho menu is small with few options if you're visiting for pho. I enjoyed their beef pho. The service was very friendly and quick.

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant. Great flavors and generous portions. They will even split a pho for you to share. Only a short 10-minute drive from downtown Pasadena, Eagle Rock and Highland Park are often overlooked by foodies. Next time will try nearby Taiwanese shaved ice.

Cute little Vietnamese place in Eagle Rock with great food. Very clean and modern inside. It's casual but still nice. Parking is a little tricky but honestly this area is always like that. I enjoyed that I got to do a sampler for the spring rolls (the shredded chicken and grilled pork were my favs!) and when I told the staff we were splitting the pho they immediately told me they could put it in two separate bowls. I thought the customer service was excellent. The pho was rich and I ate every bite. Very decent option if you're in the area looking for a place.

Food was delicious and offered a great take on modern Vietnamese cuisine. While the pear salad wasn't quite my favorite, everything else we tried was full of flavor and thoughtfully prepared. Shout out to our gracious host and server, Charlene--she was absolutely delightful and made the experience even better. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu. BB

Craving pho and decided to go gets - haven't been for years and it's still really good. Neighborhood spot that's been around for awhile. You can tell they have regulars (dine in and for pickup) because they knew what to order without having to look at a menu. Prices and portions are on point. I love ordering a side plate of onions with my Pho, a must try if you haven't already. My mom loved the chicken curry - tasted a little like panang curry, not Indian curry for those who are curious. Only wish was that they served ice cream with their fried banana dessert. Great customer service - 9 out of 10 for me. Enjoy!

Chateau Lemongrass is a local hotspot for Vietnamese food that hits the spot every time. Food: Pho broth is steaming hot and packed with flavor every time. Goo Shaken Beef was 10/10, great portions of meat, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Chicken Wings are exactly what you would hope for in an appetizer to kick off your meal Porkchops are probably my favorite thing I've had so far! Service/Ambiance: Always phenomenal and friendly. Staff is attentive to the needs of customers and give off a family vibe. Lots of regulars and locals seem to frequent this spot! If I worked nearby I'd stop by every time for an afternoon lunch or a post work meal.

This is by far my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. I'm a big fan of their pho broth! There something different about it! It taste really authentic packed with flavor! The great thing about this place is I live right down the street! Their chicken wings are amazing, I suggest getting rice with that! The house fried rice is to die for! And the pork chop is always great and flavorful! I usually just come here for the well done beef brisket pho extra noodz! You can't beat it! They got their pho recipe down to a T! If you ever find yourself in the area stop by!!! Service is great! :) and the ambiance is amazing, I really like the modern decor and the music they play! It gets busy at night so make sure you arrive early if you want to try their food.

Found another gem! Had a taste for pho and my friend suggested this spot. It's small and intimate with metropolitan decor. It's was fairly early in the evening so we were able to get a table right away. Very simple menu (which I love). Sometime restaurants offer too many things and it's hard to choose. I ordered the pho with chicken (which is shredded) I added veggies as well. There's both was so delicious. Just what I was craving. I also order a jasmine tea that had leechee fruit. Soooo delicious. My bestie and I left satisfied and stuffed. We will definitely be back. P.S. Thanks for saving and returning my sunglasses I left!

This chicken pho is a joke. They double the price for this and the amount of food they serve now is way less then before. If you double the price at least keep the same amount!

Chateau Lemongrass is a busy Vietnamese spot located in the heart of Eagle Rock. We ordered takeout on a busy Memorial Day weekend. We got the garlic noodles with shrimp ($14.50), the highlight of the evening, a super savory garlic kick with a generous supply of fried shrimp, a scrumptious steamed fish filet ($14), an unremarkable chicken pho ($13.50), a good Asian pear salad ($13.50), and a small, but decent Banh-Mi sandwich ($14) "dip" that could have benefitted from more meat and sauce. The steamed fish filet and garlic noodles w shrimp were the winners here - make sure you check them out! The service was very friendly and warm, and the restaurant was clean, modern, but somewhat plain. Never a problem - let the food do the talking. Our large-ish order was ready 20 minutes after ordering, despite being fairly crowded. Impressive haste. The greatest strength of the Chateau, of course, is value. The prices were very reasonable for the quantity of food provided. Perfect for takeout or an easy, weeknight meal. Take a stroll to the local castle - you won't be disappointed. Food: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 5/5

Some friends who go to school nearby recommended Chateau lemongrass for cheap, good Vietnamese food. We made reservations, which was helpful since there's not much seating inside. I got the kids pho and pho tacos. The kids pho was exactly what it said in the menu. It was super plain, but it paired well with my pho tacos. The pho tacos were delicious! It does come with the sriracha on top, but I wish that was on the side. You have to find street parking, so we ended up parking a couple blocks away.

Food quality: 3/5 Presentation: 4/5 Attention to detail: 2/5 Service: 3/5 Vibes: Empty but the art is nice! Value: 4/5 Times been: 1 Return? No The saving grace for this restaurant for me was the pho tacos AND the fact that my GF thought the value was so good. However, the pho is extremely dissapointing. I feel like anyone who has eaten a lot of pho will find this pho easily below average. I think that because the broth was very clear and tasteless, making me wonder if they even made it themselves. My GF really liked the fried rice, but I thought it was just okay. There was not really too much going on with it, but it was definitely reasonably priced. It also took forever to get the food considering that we were the only people there. Overall, not worth trying unless you are really craving Vietnamese food and are in this area.

First time here. What a great place to have in Eagle Rock! Cold night means some pho to warm up. Modern decore with Vietnamese artwork to remind you of the meal you're about to have. Oof course the filet mignon pho was on order as well as the calamari, steamed fish and spring rolls (ordered after we started eating our entree. Calamari was a bit chewy and not that all crunchy. Spring rolls were good but the peanut sauce needed to be a bit thicker with more peanuts blended in. Pho hit the spot. The filet mignon and pho noodles were good - probably can have filet in the soup. Steamed fish filet was less in size than I thought. It's steamed in banana leaf with mushroom and maybe leek? Whatever it was I really enjoyed. The Fish disappeared in a flash. There's wasn't much fish in the leaf something to consider if you're very hungry. Staff are nice. Parking out front on the street and side streets.

I had a Flashback Friday moment when I drove by this location. My brain quickly got nostalgic with fond images and feel-good vibes and I knew I had to stop by. My mom brought me to Pioneer Chicken when I was a child and I remember how crispy the chicken used to be. Sometimes, leftovers made it into my lunchbox. She knew how to win my heart through my belly even back then. I haven't had Pioneer Chicken since the early 90s, and I was pleasantly surprised when I dug my teeth into the drumstick. It was super crisp -- exactly how I remembered it. And the iconic orange batter was the same yummy recipe, possibly crispier than KFC's. The biscuit was my next favorite and I don't remember it being THIS good with its hint of honey flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy have not changed, but the coleslaw was a tad different. It used to be chopped into mini squares. Now it's shredded cabbage, but it has the same light mayo flavor. Also, I love that they use less plastic Their side item containers are made of paper, both top and bottom, which also adds to the retro vibe. Loved looking at the old school photos on the wall that date back to the 1960s with Pioneer Pete, The Flintstones, and Muhammad Ali, aka the OG "G.O.A.T". It was cool to learn that Jessica, who took my order at the register, was part of a bigger franchise history. Her dad owned this location, and passed it on to his son. Family-owned for the last 38 years, this location is one of the originals. And one of the last two still standing. The nostalgia of this place will always have a special place in my heart. I'll have to come back for their fish & chips and maybe even try the gizzards on my next trip down here.
