Upon walking in, the place had a nice lemongrass smell. I was looking forward to trying their food. Service was ok. My friend got brisket pho and my other friend had a kid pho, and shrimp rice which isn't shown in picture. I ordered the lemon grass chicken vermicelli noodle. When I receive my food, I notice a lot of gnats was flying around. My lemon grass vermicelli noodles just didn't look appetizing, the chicken tasted alright. I ordered an egg roll as well, and I asked for pork since my option was either tofu or pork. The egg roll tasted like veggie tofu. I wanted to not be biased and give this place a try since my friend always goes here. But after eating here, I was was not too happy. The food was ok, I give a 3.5/5 rating. I've had better pho restaurants that is more seasoned than this. The fish sauce that came w my dish didn't even look like fish sauce. It's not the usual Vietnamese "Nuoc mam" that I get. If you like basic pho, than this is the place for you. If you want good authentic pho this is not the place. The last time I've been here was about three years ago and I'm hoping it's changed since it's been quite a while. Food is a shade on the pricey side of things but the bahn mi and pho are assuredly gourmet compared with other Vietnamese joints I have searched out throughout the San Gabriel Valley. My problem was with the rude server and kitchen staff that audibly and perhaps (intentionally) made just-as-rude jokes behind our backs, taking away from the intimate conversation with my friend and her husband. Definitely not a home-away-from-home kinda ambience. I'll keep my hopes up that it's changed. I don't know. I haven't been back since. Should it not be misread, the food is superb. My partner and I stopped here by quick chance after such a hard hike near the area. This was such a pleasant surprise. Authentic Vietnamese food. We started off with spring rolls the tofu combination was my favorite over chicken and veggie, pair it with the peanut sauce for a lovely pairing. I hate filet mignon and the cut was beautiful! Cute little Vietnamese place in Eagle Rock with great food. Very clean and modern inside. It's casual but still nice. Parking is a little tricky but honestly this area is always like that. I enjoyed that I got to do a sampler for the spring rolls (the shredded chicken and grilled pork were my favs!) and when I told the staff we were splitting the pho they immediately told me they could put it in two separate bowls. Craving pho and decided to go gets - haven't been for years and it's still really good. Neighborhood spot that's been around for awhile. You can tell they have regulars (dine in and for pickup) because they knew what to order without having to look at a menu. Prices and portions are on point. I love ordering a side plate of onions with my Pho, a must try if you haven't already. My mom loved the chicken curry - tasted a little like panang curry, not Indian curry for those who are curious. The tofu dishes are fantastic. My favorite being the spring rolls and vermicelli. The citrus sauce is light and pairs perfectly with the dishes. Staff is very friendly but I only order takeout so I can old speak for brief experiences. The lemonade soda is also refreshing and not overly sweet. Street parking in the area can be difficult, especially on weekends. There are residential streets behind the restaurant but you may need to walk. read more

Found another gem! Had a taste for pho and my friend suggested this spot. It's small and intimate with metropolitan decor. It's was fairly early in the evening so we were able to get a table right away. Very simple menu (which I love). Sometime restaurants offer too many things and it's hard to choose. I ordered the pho with chicken (which is shredded) I added veggies as well. There's both was so delicious. Just what I was craving. I also order a jasmine tea that had leechee fruit. Soooo delicious. We got the garlic noodles with shrimp ($14.50), the highlight of the evening, a super savory garlic kick with a generous supply of fried shrimp, a scrumptious steamed fish filet ($14), an unremarkable chicken pho ($13.50), a good Asian pear salad ($13.50), and a small, but decent Banh-Mi sandwich ($14) "dip" that could have benefitted from more meat and sauce. The service was very friendly and warm, and the restaurant was clean, modern, but somewhat plain. Never a problem - let the food do the talking. Some friends who go to school nearby recommended Chateau lemongrass for cheap, good Vietnamese food. We made reservations, which was helpful since there's not much seating inside. I got the kids pho and pho tacos. The kids pho was exactly what it said in the menu. It was super plain, but it paired well with my pho tacos. The pho tacos were delicious! A solid 4 star that fulfilled my Vietnamese craving! I was driving in the area when spotted this restaurant from afar, and I looked forward to trying it after my morning shift at work. Parking was a little hard to find, but I got lucky with side street parking and it was a short walk from the car. I was told to sit anywhere I like, so I took the small table by the window as it was only a table of 1 :) Service was friendly and prompt - no complaints there! I ordered the shrimp spring rolls, which I was slightly disappointed in. It was lacking that crunchy bit in the middle that makes these spring rolls so satisfying. The flavors were still good and the ingredients tasted fresh. I'm also allergic to peanuts, so I had a side of house sauce, which was delicious. Now, I'm not Vietnamese nor did I grow up with Vietnamese food. I'm actually a bit of a new pho-eater, so I'm still learning what I like, but this pho was GOOD! I can't quite say what authentic Vietnamese food is supposed to taste like, but from what I know so far and from what I've liked in the past, I really enjoyed this pho. Where do I even begin? This place has been slipping for a while, and somehow each visit gets worse than the last. This time officially did it for me. -Took 10+ minutes just to be acknowledged and get menus. -Another 10 minutes before anyone bothered to take our order. -Drinks took forever. -Appetizer showed up after about 20 minutes. -And the pho? A full 40 minutes later. Our waiter (a young guy) basically forgot we existed, so I had to walk up to the woman behind the counter myself. I asked if waiting 40+ minutes for pho was normal. She said no, went to check, and came back with the classic "we're busy" excuse. Funny, because multiple tables seated well after us got their food in under 10 minutes. So clearly, the kitchen CAN move fast... just not when it comes to our table. The fastest service of the night? The bill arrived in about 10 seconds. Of course. Then they took the card and vanished for another 10 minutes like it was part of the full "ignore the customer" experience. And when the pho finally arrived? Hardly any noodles.
