The satay was a wonderful juicy flavor and the peanut sauce was just right. The Thai iced tea was also perfectly made - creamy and not watered down (I am super picky about Thai iced teas). Will def come again if I'm ever in the area! A nice authentic find and no frills! I always check reviews first so was on the fence, but glad I came in and tasted for myself! Strip mall vibes in need of some more upgrades. With a very small dining room, a quarter of the dining space was used for storage. An unfinished partition adorns and splits the dining area as you sit and dine with no air conditioning. The menu is your standard Thai cuisine affair. Flavors are good and demonstrate authenticity. Ingredients are fresh, and service is pleasant and fast. Takeaway ease can be done online, and it seems much of their business is to go. Unfortunately, portion sizes are thin, and prices are slightly higher than expected. All of their Entrees seem like discounted lunch-sized portions, but without the value. read more

I paid $2 for extra beef and there was almost none in the noodles. The portion was such a disappointment, and they somehow messed up such a basic dish. The place used to be sort of busy but it appeared desserted as I walked in. I was surprised that the portion has shrunk to fit the microwavabkr container and was not a fillfulling portion for lunch. I come here for lunch with some regularity. It is decent and cheap. Depending who is working the service varies widely. Today I went for the lunch special and the food was consistent. However, as I'm eating my lunch I suddenly have company for lunch. A cockroach comes sauntering up the booth seat across from me and meanders around for a while before nonchalantly crawling back into the space between the cushions. I almost puked. We ordered. Papaya Salad spicy, angel chicken appetizer and the catfish with chili. Salad fresh and spicy. The hot tea wasn't even warm so, we sent it back. Angel wing (weird). Took a couple of bites but too much something. The catfish was over done, not spicy, boney and kind of gross. It was our first time here and both my husband and I agreed we should have ordered more mainstream Thai; like pad Thai or larb. The Pot Thai cafe is located in this tiny strip mall in the small community of Eagle Rock,right next to CVS and an Optometry shop, if you blink - there's a good chance you'll miss this place *grin. The place is small, comfy seats and has a cozy feel once you get yourself situated. The decor I have to say is a fusion of corky and exotic, think of a traditional Thai elephant statue surrounded by sparkly and glittery pink hearts and multicolored lights! Funky & Funny! There is something about the Pad Thai that makes me order it over and over every time I'm at a Thai Restaurant, I'm happy to report that this place serves a very good one! You can order the crushed peanuts on the side or already sprinkled on the dish, it is totally up to you, they are very generous with their serving - this meal is good enough for two (unless you are really really hungry) The Tom Yum shrimp is so-so okay, don't get me wrong, it is still pretty good but I've had other Tom Yum Shrimp that is totally out of this world where the flavor, herbs and spices totally comes through, Pot Thai's Tom Yum is a little on the sweet side so it somehow takes away from the fresh, "herby" and earthy taste that I always loved about this dish. Their combination fried rice is the bomb! The fried-rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned, the meat combination or beef, shrimp and chicken are done to perfection which makes for a delightful meal. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is a surprisingly good atmosphere! PJ, whose family owns the restaurant, was on top of service, and made sure we had everything we needed. Normally this spot is decent and prices are pretty cheap for what it is. But unfortunately it seems they are starting to get a little lazy in the kitchen. Ordered for pickup pad prik king beef and it was tasteless, watery, and undercooked. I ended up having to recook it myself and add more red curry paste. Also they normally put kaffir lime leaves but there were none -_- sadly I didn't have any but recooking it still made it taste better than what it was when I got it! The food was fresh and pretty tasty, but the tofu was extremely firm- like way too firm, and also not quite as hot as the rest of the ingredients on the plate. The waitress seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with the amount of customers as I asked for some Chile a few times and ended up grabbing it from another table and also had to get up after waiting for 10 min to get a water refill. Toward the end she seemed to have somewhat of an attitude, but no big deal. Other than that, this place was alright.
