My Mom and I were at the 888 Seafood Restaurant located in the Empire Commercial Center in Rosemead. I remember reading up on a new business named ChaTraMue Original Thai Tea that just opened about one month ago. It happened to be on the other side of the 888 Seafood Restaurant. I had to come on over and try their Original Thai Tea. It's one long Thai tea shop. Very clean and has a comfy ambiance to it. Good amount of bench seating. They also have a few bar stool seating. Self-ordering kiosks are available. Honestly, I don't remember if they have ordering over the counter. They serve signature drinks, milk tea, specialty tea, fresh tea, Yuzu series, rose tea, latte series, vegan series, expresso, and caffeine free. A good variety of options! They offer 16 oz, 22 oz, and 32 oz (in bucket form) cup sizes. I chuckled when I saw the bucket LOL. Hey, whatever it takes to get the job done! I ordered via kiosk. Got one Green Thai Tea with pandan boba for me and one Oolong Milk Tea with egg pudding for my Mom. Both with 100% sweetness and no ice. Prior to choosing the toppings, I asked if I could sample their pandan boba. The young lady behind the counter was nice to give me a free sample. Thank you miss! It didn't have the pandan flavor I was looking for, but I still got it for my drink. I thought maybe the pandan flavor may come through with the rest of the drink. Well, it didn't LOL. I still enjoyed my Green Thai Tea drink regardless. It had a good strong Thai tea flavor. Very authentic! My Mom liked her Oolong Milk Tea drink, too. Overall experience was great. We ordered both green milk thai tea and regular thai tea lattes and it was basically their strong thai tea with milk, and mixed becomes a milk tea but a lighter version. I enjoyed it and for a $6.25 regular size was a bit pricey but we decided to try in the area. Their pandan boba that it came with was alright but can be cooked a bit more. was so excited to finally be able to visit ChaTraMue! the OG thai tea brand ! the location is super big and with plenty of parking. the inner interior looks extremely modern and clean with different variations of the ChaTraMue tea on display. we got the thai lemon tea with 70% sweetness and the green thai milk tea with 100% sweetness. we got regular size for each drink which ended up being $5.50 per drink. the staff was very friendly and let us know if there were any adjustments needed then to let him know. the thai lemon tea was super refreshing and you can definitely taste the flavor of the thai tea leaves. it was perfect balance and not too sour at all. the green thai milk tea was good as well but we definitely could've lessened the sweetness level. it was way too sweet for us. you can taste the difference between regular thai tea and the green thai tea. the seasonal drinks were super unique as well with biscoff cream being one of the offerings. would definitely love to visit again to try! read more

First time visiting this original Thai Tea place after having it on a to-try list! It's located inside a plaza, turn right into the parking lot after the Ji Rong sign! There was no wait on a Thursday afternoon. Super cute inside, the interior is perfect for studying or to just sit and enjoy your drink. There are outlets along the side of the bench too! I ordered their original Thai Tea at 70% sweetness, and upgraded my size from 16oz to 22 for an additional $1, making my drink a total of $6.50. Overall rating: 3.2 (off chance I would come back by myself but would come back with others) As much as I want to give them five stars, my boba shop ratings these days can be quite harsh with my current rating system. This is in no way to denigrate their drink quality. I just have extremely particular taste when it comes to boba/tea these days. I went with the Thai tea at 30% sweetness and with brown sugar jelly. The drink was very smooth which is certainly why this place is the place to get Thai tea. I almost would prefer the tea flavor to be even stronger (maybe it's just my preference for plain tea over milk teas). It was pleasant but for my own palate somewhat forgettable. What was interesting though was how the brown sugar jelly was shaped into little diamonds/gems. It's easy to miss this detail but I love when I see little nuances like this. I did not like that the jelly floated, however, and would prefer if it was able to sit at the bottom of the cup for drinking logistics. I also could have done with less ice but the ice level wasn't bad at all. Other service related notes: I asked about the texture of the brown sugar jelly (whether it was softer or chewier) and they said it's like the agar jelly (softer). Also they wrote/drew a little thing like what trended with Starbucks after their recent management change which was cute. I might come back at some point to try the pandan flavored boba since that is unique, potentially updating my rating then. But for now, there's a low chance I will return on my own. read more

When we went to Thailand there were a couple tea places that we really liked, one of which being ChaTraMue. We were surprised to see a location in the Rosemead area and we stopped by to see if it was similar to what we had. This location is in a plaza with a decent amount of parking. You order at the kiosk and they will call your name when your order is ready. We ordered the original Thai tea ($5.50) and the Thai green milk tea ($5.50). Both tasted really good and were similar if not exactly what I remembered having in Thailand. I preferred the Thai green milk tea in Thailand and I preferred it this time too. We got 100% sweetness for both and they were great and not too sweet for me. The larger size was an extra dollar and boba was an extra 65 cents so each drink was a total of $7+ which can be a lot to stomach for boba. My husband and I came to visit during their grand opening, in which they had a buy one, get one free selected drink special. We arrived on a Saturday, evening, around 6 pm. We ended up purchasing: Original Thai Tea, $5.50 + $1 large size- I ordered this drink to be made with 30% sweetener (they only do 70, 30 and zero). Was not able to adjust the ice level during the grand opening. I did not consume this drink on the same day I purchased but I thought the drink was good. The Thai tea had good flavor. The sweetness level was also just fine for me (I usually order 25- 50% sweetness level at other tea houses, just to give you an idea). Thai Green Milk Tea $5.50 + $1 large size- Of the two that I ordered, I liked this one the best, which I find to be interesting because I don't normally like green tea but like matcha though. The flavor was really good actually. I also ordered this drink to be made with 30% sweetener, which I also thought was the perfect sweetness level for me. ------------------------------ My husband also ordered the same above with the same sweetness level and also liked both. I was so intrigued by this place, because I've never really seen a tea place that's specifically for Thai tea. I've heard lots of good things but had my reservations as I'm lactose intolerant and didn't want to have to deal with a case of the runs since I had plans for the remaining of the day. Luckily for me, there's oat milk options as part of their vegan series! I came with a group, so while I ordered the Thai Green Tea with oat milk, I tried a few sips from my friend who ordered the original thai tea which is their signature. While of course the regular milk drink is tastier, I think the oat milk version is pretty good as well. The oat milk is not watered down or very "oat-y," so there's no distinct oat taste that interferes with the tea. I added egg pudding as a topping, which is my favorite, but next time I'll try the honey boba. I'm also curious about the pandan boba. I always go for 30% sweetness which I think is not too sweet :) The store is a small one with some indoor seating in small tables for 2-3 people each, but typically you'll take it to go. The decor is cute. You can either order at the two iPad kiosks or at the cash register. The service is friendly and the drinks are made relatively quickly. Prices are reasonable imo. I love that it's next to Good Alley. There's also Golden Deli and Shinsengumi in the same plaza, so parking can get really busy during peak weekend hours. The boba was nicer than the jellies, had better texture and soft + chewy. I would maybe get this vegan flavor again but definitely at least 50% sweetness or lower. For those who haven't had green Thai tea before, it's prepared the same way as a classic Thai tea, but with a jasmine green tea base instead of black tea. The drink is more floral compared to the bolder warmer taste of a classic Thai tea, but it's just as creamy and sweet as the classic version. On that note, I surprisingly didn't care for their classic Thai tea, which was milkier than I would have liked - I would have preferred a stronger tea flavor. Ok, is the hype true? I would say, maybe. When you first come inside, you are greeted and the cashier will ask for your order. The service is as expected, good. The inside is decently spacious and inviting. The drink is made really well. It actually is made too strong. When the ice melts, it produces the flavor that most people enjoy. This brand is the OG thai tea spot from Thailand. They had their first location in California in DTLA, but so glad they have a location in 626 now. It's located in a plaza with other restaurants and a large parking lot, so great stop to grab a drink before or after your meal. When I came by on a Saturday, it was quite busy. There's plenty of tables and seating although it was all filled up. I ordered their popular Original Thai Tea in large ($5.95) and Green Thai Tea with Pandan Boba ($6.60). Both were at a 30% sweetness since Thai tea can usually get too sweet for me, so this was perfect! They are known for their Thai tea, so that's a must get here. OMG this place is AWESOME!!!!! It is now our favorite boba tea shop in the SGV! Not only are their teas strong, drinks not too sweet, but their Pandan bobas are 100% on point!! We're so glad they opened this location in the SGV area and we don't have to go to DTLA or OC areas for it. Our go to orders are the Lychee Green Tea with Pandan Boba, Mango Green Tea, & Green Thai Tea with Pandan Boba. All 3 drinks are so delicious and totally hits the spot. We love the flavors of their green Thai tea and their fruit teas. It tasted very authentic and not artificial at all. Definitely need to try their latte drinks and other drinks too. They are located in the same plaza as Golden Delight #2 and right next to Good Alley. Plenty of parking in the lot, but there is some traffic entering and exiting the lot tho. Very quick and nice service. Cute decor inside too. Definitely a must try shop and their drinks are not overpriced like other boba shops. Totally worth it!! read more

A new spot to check out! I came here at about 2 pm, so I was able to find parking easily. There are only a few tables and chairs inside, and it fills up fast! There are two kiosks for ordering, or you can order at the counter. The process was easy-input your phone number to get the text when the drink is ready in case you can't here them call out your name. I got the vegan Rose Milk Tea and Matcha Milk Tea that came with the agar jelly. Both were at 100% sweetness, but the matcha one was definitely better! I would prefer that the drinks come with less ice. read more
