Super cute inside and the whisky flight was fun and different (if you are brave!) We had great bartenders who explained everything as we worked our way through the flight.

This was an amazing experience! We were in town for a work event and unfortunately only had limited time to check this place out! They do offer a tour and tasting and tell you to plan around 1-1/2 hours totally. They start on the hour and we arrived to late to join a tour and due to time constraints could not wait until the next one. Luckily we were still able to do the tasting for $18 per person ( same price as the tour and tasting!) and absolutely worth it!! We had Keely as our guide through the tasting and she was amazing! There was another bartender as well, Kalani ( spelling?) and the two of them worked amazingly together making sure everyone sitting at the bar was taken care of. The tasting included 6 and they allow you additional as well so you can try others you didn't get or just get another of the ones you enjoyed. All were really good with that smooth whiskey burn that warms from the inside out well being full of flavors! We had a hard time picking out which bottle to buy since we enjoyed them all but finally settled on one and headed to our event. Absolutely put this on the list if you are in Chattanooga!! You won't regret it!! Will absolutely go back, amazing experience!

Truly enjoyed this experience here. Chattanooga is pricer than I imagined, but this spot had a tasting option for only $18! That included 6 standard tastings of their whiskeys but also allowed each person to have an additional 3 tastings from their menu. That's a great deal. They also allow the option to share a flight, but we both got our own for this experience. Ashley was great and gave us a nice rundown of each whiskey and the history of this spot. I love whiskey, so it was great to learn more about it and the process. Eli was also very nice and helped us out as well. You don't even have to like bourbon to enjoy this tour! Great information about how it began and what it has become! The tasting at the end of the tour lets you know... they got it right! Take a bottle home.... Or you'll wish you did!

Tastings are first come first serve. Thankfully I came at a time when there was plenty of seating available. The staff were great, they were kind and knowledgeable. With the varieties of whiskeys they had on their tasting flight it's really hard not to find one you love. They also offered oyster crackers and a little thing of chocolate for a palate cleanser. It was a cozy spot that had a nice rustic feel. Definitely a place and experience I'd return for.

Amazing! I did the tasting but regret not doing the tour. Really cool set up with friendly and knowledgeable guides. The service was top notch and the whiskey was fantastic. I'd give this six stars if I could.

Top tier of things to do when you're in Chattanooga. Not only is the whiskey phenomenal but the staff is even better! Friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, epic! True whiskey/bourbon ambassadors. I booked a tour and was the only person that had signed up for that time slot. I told them not to worry about the tour & to push me through to the tasting. They insisted I take the tour. Glad I agreed! They treated me like a VIP! There is a really cool backstory to this awesome craft distillery. I've taken many distillery tours but this, by far, was the coolest. And the tasting was really good as well. Best variety of samples I've experienced on a tour, by far. Shout out to Chris and the bartender (sorry I didn't remember her name). Definitely stop by and check them out if you're ever in the area!

I really enjoyed the tour we did. The venue includes used both the top floor, back patio and basement where the tour occurs. The wall art include useful information as well. The 1 hour tours is $18.00 per person. At the end of the tour, we were able to sample award-winning whiskey with a one-of-kind whiskey flight of their latest offerings. The Bouquet cocktail is so delicious. Cask 111 was my favorite of the tasting flight. I'm a tequila girlie, but I definitely recommend this tour.

Spending time in Tennessee and Kentucky and we are coming to love Whiskey and Chattanooga Whiskey is at the top of the list!! We did a flight with Brit and she was super knowledgeable!! She made the experience so much fun!!! Book your tour early if you're coming to visit. They book out several days. Chatt Whiskey 91 proof was our personal favorite. Enjoy!! read more

I feel like a boozer since the first things I look up on any trip is breweries for John and distilleries for me, closely followed by bakeries and food. Chattanooga Distillery was bookmarked early and then I met someone who highly recommended them- he knew the head bartender- Smiley. AND... another friend had just been here a week before our trip! So- yes, yes, yes and more yes. You need to book a tour in advance- FYI. We did so in person on our first night in town and came back a couple days later. Parker was our tour guide and did a fantastic job giving us local history behind Tennessee Whiskey and their own Vote for Whiskey campaign to be able to distill in Chattanooga. This was not our first distillery tour, so we know a bit about the process already. We were taken down to the barrel room and then back upstairs for our tasting with Smiley! We loved everything so much we bought 2 bottles of Bourbon and a mixer. If I ever visit again I look forward to more experimental whiskey!!! Their signature whiskey #91 was what we loved! read more

Our tour guide was Jake and he was so informative, he didn't try to be corny or funny he was just just very informative and we learned some very fun facts that we hadn't ever learned on any other distillery tours before. The tasting at the end we got to do with Cat she was so nice and told us about everything we were drinking and answered our questions. What a wonderful way to spend an hour, learning about whiskey and the rich Tennessee history of distilling. Ethan gave us a very informative and entertaining tour of the facilities. Payton led the tasting portion with attentiveness and a good knowledge of the products being poured. Questions were encouraged and we all learned a lot. As someone who doesn't drink hard liquor but loves a good tour I was pleasantly surprised to walk away with a new appreciation for the taste of whiskey. Also, such a breath of fresh air to have so many ladies running the place. I have to admit that it made me feel much more comfortable to ask questions as a woman who doesn't drink whiskey to have other women there to teach and reassure. Came here for a tour and tasting while in town for vacation. Our tour was personal, just myself, my partner, and our guide Kaitlyn, who was awesome and a great guide. I felt very comfortable not being in a packed crowd for the tour and it made the tour more fun. The tour was incredibly informative, even for someone with a lot of knowledge of distillation and spirit-making. The tasting consisted of 4 neat pours (silver pure, 91 cask, 111 cask, and rye), along with a small old fashioned and a mixed drink. Fair warning: if you are not a whiskey or bourbon person, give your neat pours to your other group members. Going up from silver to 111 cask, you can see how complex the whiskey this distillery produces gets over time and can really appreciate the process. Our spaces at the bar were far from others which was also very nice. I highly recommend this tour and tasting, it's great quality for the price. read more

We have toured a few wineries and breweries before but we both found this to be the best experience so far! I will definitely recommend this experience to my friends. This was a great experience while visiting Chattanooga. The tour was very informative and was in an atmosphere that allowed us to really learn about their process for distilling whiskey. Smiley was our tour guide and did an absolute great job explaining the history of whiskey making in TN as well as the history of Chattanooga Whiskey. We really enjoyed the barrel storage aging process downstairs. The tasting was outstanding with a great Pomegranate Limeade at the end. read more

We just happened upon this driving into Chattanooga. Our last minute wait wasn't very long and our tasting was very organized and looked beautiful. Brit explained the 6 whiskeys we were tasting very well and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We tasted whiskey in different stages (aged vs not aged) and whiskey aged in different kinds of barrels. If you want to tour their facility you will need to plan ahead (the next available for us was 5 days out). read more

Peyton was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable and helped answer all the questions we had as a large group. Be sure to request Peyton said she was an excellent guide and helped us understand all the dynamics of whiskey and bourbon. Taylor was our bartender and was very helpful and refilling our glass multiple times with water. There is a lot of whiskey to be tried at the end of the tour and you will definitely need to keep hydrated. Don't forget you can also ask to try two or three experimental Whiskeys that they don't always have in the sampling due to possible allergies. Be sure to take a dollar or two with you to tip the bartender at the end. Peyton Taylor were well worth the visit. read more

Had an amazing tour with my father and both my sisters. Our tour guide, Catherine, was extremely knowledgeable. She was also very nice and made the entire experience very warm and welcoming. Also the bartender Caleb was able to explain the entire flavor profile/info of all of the different whiskeys. It was a 100% enjoyable experience all around! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Chattanooga. read more

We did the noon tour and tasting today. They tour was very interesting and the tour guide was awesome (purple hair and all). The atmosphere in the tasting area was nice. The tastings are 4 pours and two mixed cocktails, so plan accordingly. Great and friendly staff. read more

We used to live in Chattanooga, and loved this team and their amazing product. Since we were back in town for Spring Break with some of our friends from Orlando, we decided to do the tour before grabbing dinner across the street, and this tour was AMAZING! Brit took exceptionally great care of us, and answered so many of our questions, while helping us learn about the surprisingly unique and scientific process that goes into making Tennessee High Malt. Afterwards, our tasting with Caleb really topped off the night and he was so much fun to talk with. We grabbed a few bottles, a t-shirt, and a hat on the way out, and we can't wait to come back to get some whiskey glasses for our bar at home soon. read more

Chattanooga Whiskey experience was fantastic! It was apart of our girls trip activities. We were visiting from Atlanta!! The place is so beautiful,clean, and the WHISKEY is even better! We took a tour with PARKER who was the sweetest! I know a lot more about whiskey now because of Parker! He provided exceptional customer service! We enjoyed ourselves! We will definitely be back! Such a great experience. Allie was our tour guide and so enthusiastic. Its so awesome when someone shares their passion about a subject with you. We booked our tour and had no problems whatsoever. Do call and book. They have to limit patrons and it's a smooth process and gets you out of the shop quickly: only two people can be in the shop at a time! The tasting was awesome and even though they had others there, it was appropriately spaced and we never felt rushed. And delicious whiskey! I won't lie, we don't over $200. It was sunny tough decisions. Loved the history and the unique flavor of high malt. If you're in Chattanooga, do this tour! read more

Great introduction to distilling whiskey. This was our first stop on our "bourbon trail tour " hitting 18 whiskey distilleries in Tennessee and Kentucky. This wasn't the biggest distillery by a long shot, and not the smallest, but it was one of our favorites. Everyone was fantastic there. The tour was up close and personal which ended with a good tasting at their bar of their whiskeys and even a mixed cocktail. A good tasting doesn't serve you out of those tiny plastic urine sampling cups, but gives you real glasses to enjoy your drink from.... Which they did. We bought a few bottles there and love sharing them with our friends. Hint: book your tour early because they do get booked up.... We squeezed in only due to a cancellation. Hint 2: when done there ask them about the speakeasy down the street in the basement of a pizza place. read more

Established in 2011.

Inspired by our city's rich distilling history, Chattanooga Whiskey was founded in 2011 with a mission to bring back "Whiskey to the People." Following the success of our community-powered Vote Whiskey campaign, we eventually became the first distillery in Chattanooga in over a century. In 2015, we began the patient process of crafting our malt-forward style of straight bourbon whiskey we call Tennessee High Malt. After 8 years in the making, our Tennessee High Malt was released in August 2019, marking a new era in our company history with a whiskey that celebrates the future as much as the history that got us here today.

People watching from on high was fun, and the nature scenery was nice. Service was a little slow, but not an imposition, however, if it gets much busier, that could be a thing. We later learned they previously had a $10 cover, but we did not get asked for this and it must be a thing of the past, or I understand it is waived for guests of the Edwin Hotel (the bar's affiliated with the Edwin) but we had dinner reservations at Whitebird, the affiliated restaurant. The charcuterie was good with cheeses, cured meats, jams, crackers, etc. all in all, the star is the Al fresco seating and the River, and of course the company of my beautiful wife! So, go for outdoor seating and bring your own beau!

It is very open and modern except for the kitchen, which remains partially visible through windows from the main dining area. It was a Wednesday night and was surprisingly slow at 6:30, in terms of the crowd, or lack thereof, with only three other tables occupied during our visit. Our server, Jonathon, was very polite, attentive, and professional. Especially in contrast to my observation of the other server, whom I observed going through the motions of waiting in tables like a bored veteran server who might have been half drunk. Just an observation, but he kind of had our attention while serving a nearby table. He clearly knew what he was doing and mostly pulled off a good job, it was mostly timing and tone of voice and the way he was gliding across the room. Good for that guy. It was pasta night and that meant pasta specials, so I figured this was one of those, "our best game" dishes and ordered the bolognese with rigatoni. I also ordered the Appalachian Salad, which was spinach, radicchio, blue cheese, pine nuts, 5 oz beef tenderloin tip, red wine vinaigrette. I asked for medium rare and got well done. But both were fantastic. I did not think the bolognese would satisfy my appetite, it was filling, but I did t want to be hungry an hour later and the steak with salad deliciously helped. My wife had the herb crusted salmon, chive-pepper-corn couscous ragout, fried basil. And there was a lot of couscous, probably a cup and a half if not two cups. This too was delicious. I was intrigued by one menu item we did not try for $25 as an appetizer, deep fried egg yolks with crème fraiche and caviar. I know to get that, the yolks must be frozen, then breaded and fried to be crisp on the outside but runny yolk inside. I couldn't interest my wife in this adventure, but someone else try them and let us know? Staff were all very hospitable. Free valet parking for a couple of hours, right at the entrance in fact. Value was reasonable and good quality, quantity and flavors were very good. It didn't blow us away, but we were not disappointed. The only crazy thing was $14 for a small pour on a glass of Chardonnay, but that's the way it goes for dining out nowadays. This was a decent choice for our dinner out while visiting Chattanooga. I will say, Jonathon, our waiter, did a five star job.

I highly recommend the "Bartender's Choice" cocktail option--the staff is incredibly skilled, and the drinks they crafted were awesome. However, management needs to fix their highly deceptive checkout flow. The bar chooses not to bake Tennessee's mandatory 15% Liquor-by-the-Drink tax into their menu prices. When the bartender flips the POS tablet to pay, the system completely hides the itemized receipt. It jumps straight to a final total that includes a combined 24.25% in state and liquor taxes. To make matters worse, the screen presents ridiculous suggested tip options of 20%, 30%, and 40%--which are calculated on top of that heavily taxed final total rather than the subtotal. If you just tap a prompt, you end up aggressively tipping on hidden taxes. Come for the excellent cocktails and great bartenders, but ignore the suggested buttons and manually calculate your tip based on the actual menu price of your drinks.

I also tried the Liquid Gold juice. Their juice selection is impressive, but I may have accidentally found my forever order on the first try. It was so refreshing, with just a hint of ginger. For a hot drink, I highly recommend the London fog. I'm not usually a tea fan but if you don't want coffee, this is an excellent option. Before we left, we picked up some of their salted caramels to go, and they make the perfect little gift... assuming you have enough self-control not to eat them all in the car. The vibe here is upscale southern diner. One of the signs on the wall said, "All are welcome, but you need to act right," and honestly, that's the kind of life advice we could all use. I also really appreciated that parking was free. In Chattanooga these days it's hard finding a place where you don't have to scan a QR code, download an app, and pay to park just to eat. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Milk & Honey is absolutely worth a visit...and if you're debating the pistachio croissant, stop debating and just order it. Your only regret will be not getting a second one.

In addition to making great whiskey, Chattanooga Whiskey offers guided tours of the distillery and a whiskey tasting. Our guide was Smiley, who was friendly, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable on the history of whiskey in Tennessee, history of the Chattanooga Distillery, and the whiskey making process. She answered all our questions in detail, and her infectious enthusiasm made the tour all the more enjoyable. After the tour the distillery offers a whiskey tasting, which in our case featured their 91 and 111 Whiskeys, a white whiskey barely aged (one week), a coffee liquor, their new rye whiskey, a cocktail (Sazerac) made with the 91 Whiskey, and an experimental whiskey. Each offering was explained in detail by our server, Alex, who also showed both detailed knowledge and an enjoyment of his job. Knowing that I would enjoy the 91 and 111 Whiskeys, I was pleasantly surprised by the rye and the coffee liquor, while the experimental whiskey was phenomenal. Needless to say I left with a case of mixed bottles of the three offerings I cannot purchase at home. I highly recommend this tour to any whiskey lover, and for a great time ask for Smiley as your tour guide and Alex as your bartender. P.S. They were also kind enough to care for our standard poodle, Sofia, while we took the tour. I don't know how they could be more friendly. read more

My husband, myself and a couple friends went to Chattanooga Whiskey's Experimental Distillery for a tour and tasting and had a really great time. We went for the tasting thinking we would have to suffer through the tour but the tour was surprisingly enjoyable and informative. Corey was incredible. Not only does he know his stuff, he has a great personality to boot. If your tour guide isn't good you'd hate the tour so kudos to Corey for being educational but not boring. The only note I'd give to Chattanooga Whiskey as a tip would be that I think the tasting would be better if the tour guide talks about the samples instead of the bartender (which Corey did and did well) but only a drink at a time. So you sample what they're talking about rather than them telling you about these 6 drinks and then that's it. I couldn't remember everything about each one so I would have to ask for the spiel again. I know it takes extra time for the tour guide to stay during the tasting but I think it'd be a nice touch. We have already spent 45 minutes with the tour guide so let them finish us out. Anyway, great job to Corey and Chattanooga Whiskey. My husband and I were in Chattanooga for our anniversary weekend. We were looking for something to do that was in doors since the weather was awful. After seeing so many rave reviews, we decided to try out the distillery and we are SO GLAD we did!! Corey was our tour guide and did an incredible job. At first, i thought it was going to be a very scripted and rehearsed explanation of the distillery, but even when asked several in depth questions, Corey knew the answers and explained everything perfectly. His sense of humor and knowledge made the whole experience great. I also figured the tasting would be a splash of whiskey in a small glass and they'd call it a day, but i was pleasantly surprised by the flight we received at the end of the tour. You are given 4 different whiskeys & 2 mini whiskey cocktails to try. For the $12 price tag of the tour, id say that was more than a decent tasting! Lastly, Corey recommended a restaurant for us to try for dinner, Main Street Meats. I am so glad we chose to go! It was hands down the best meal we've ever had. My wife and I were honeymooning in Chattanooga from Mobile, Alabama and on the way to our cabin, we drove past several billboards referencing Chattanooga Whiskey tours and tastings and knew we had to schedule one. Our tour guide, Alex, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the processes. We learned so much about the distillation and fermentation process and the history of the company. Our bartender, Smiley, was amazing. She poured generous amounts during the tasting. After learning that it was our honeymoon, she gave us a toast. Alex, Smiley, and the high quality whiskey made the night very memorable. I would definitely recommend booking a tour if you're planning a visit to Chattanooga. Downloaded Yelp just to write this, These folks know what they're doing. My mother and I took the tour and the tasting with Caleb and I had to be the person asking the questions for the poor guy, but he had an answer for every one of em. The look into the distillery and the barrel room was a wonderfully memorable experience. At the tasting Catherine made the best old fashioned I've ever had, and I hate mixed bourbon drinks but she did one helluva job. Didn't overpower the whiskey at all and I don't think there was a whiskey in the tasting I didn't like. Took home a bottle of cask 111 and the reserve. Fantastic tour! They're doing things no one else is doing with whiskey, and it's fascinating to hear about. Jake was a phenomenal tour guide! Knowledgeable and detailed in his description of the distillery, but at the same time being my non-assuming in his approach. Whiskey lovers and novices will find the tour equally enjoyable. Caleb and Ethan were great in the tasting room. I really appreciated that they described the typical notes in each whiskey, but acknowledged that each person's palate is unique. Excellent, excellent tour by Cory and his associate. More informative and much more lively than a similar tour given by a much older and more established producer of a like product that rhymes with Mack Spaniels. Inexpensive and limited to small numbers of people made the tour very personable. Cory is clearly very knowledgeable and a subject matter expert in the field. Likewise, Brandon did a stellar job during the taste testing. Super knowledgeable on current and future products and able to answer any question thrown at him. Wow! What a great tour and tasting! Our tour guide Corey was the best! He was very well versed on "All Things Whiskey ". The history of distilleries in Tennessee is very interesting! I learned so much. All of my senses were stimulated during the tour. I actually saw the yeast in action...heard lots of facts about whiskey....smelled the aroma of whiskey aging....touched the barrels that housed the whiskey and tasted a variety of Chattanooga whiskeys. All in all it was a great experience. If you are a whiskey drinker by all means give them a try. If you're not a drinker of whiskey, the tasting will be quite an adventure. read more

We were in Chattanooga for New Years and visited the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery. Allie was our tour guide, she was very funny and made the tour a lot of fun. I asked a lot of questions...and she knew all the answers. I really appreciated that the groups are kept small so that everyone could gather round and really soak in the information. The bartender also was very knowledgeable regarding the taste-testing...which was my husband's favorite part of the experience. Absolutely amazing!!!!! We took the tour and tasting with Corey as our illustrious guide. Never learned so much about whiskey/bourbon and the entirety of the process before! Super casual and easy to follow. The tasting was top-notch; really had no idea how much of a difference there could be between bourbons. They do a great manhattan as well! My husband I came up from Atlanta for his birthday and one of the things we did in Chattanooga was the distillery tour and tasting. Traffic was so bad getting out of Atlanta we weren't going to make it for our scheduled tour on time, but they were really gracious in moving us to a later slot. It's in a beautiful old building, and you can see the love and care they put into their business. The tour was really interesting, and SMILEY was a great tour guide! Have lived here for ten years. Had some friends from Atlanta come visit and we decided to give Chattanooga Whiskey Distillery a go. Wow, I can't believe I haven't been here sooner. Our tour guide, Cory had an amazing tour filled with history of the distillery, Chattanooga, and coated it with a lot of humor along the way. My friends and I had a blast. I will 100% make this a stop to every friend that visits Chattanooga. A must go if you're visiting the city. Ask for Cory - he's the man! I could not rate this place any higher! I walked in here originally just to show my boyfriend around the storefront and ended up taking the whole tour as well as took home multiple bottles of whiskey. Our tour guide Dylan was amazing, he truly made it such a unique and entertaining experience while teaching us about the history of the distillery as well as answering all of our questions with a smile. We enjoyed it so much we came back that night to take my parents to their cocktails in the courtyard night. I visited them recently and had the joy of experiencing their tour and tasting which absolutely blew me away! I've done it twice now over the past year and can say it keeps getting better and better. Cory, Sara, and Caitlin treated us like we were long-time friends coming in for a drink and enthusiastic about their product! They all were knowledgeable about the entire distilling process and excited to share their passion with us. My wife and I was in Chattanooga for our 1 year wedding anniversary this past week and we had a blast! One of the things we decided to do was a whiskey tour at Chattanooga Whiskey. We definitely enjoyed it. Our tour guide, Cory, was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! He educated us on the brewing process, past distilling laws and the history of the company. Because of our experience we will definitely visit Chattanooga Whiskey on our next trip there! Also, the Cask was quite good and I might order a couple of bottles. We just took did the tour and tasting at the experimental distillery. Kaitlin was a fantastic tour guide. We've been on numerous distillery tours, and she used analogies that made whiskey distilling make more sense than any other tour we've taken. The tasting was very laid back. Brit explained what we were tasting, and even got us a taste of the award winning rye whiskey. Then she let us enjoy the whiskey at our own pace. She was there to answer our questions and even take our picture. She even made restaurant recommendations to complete our afternoon. read more

We absolutely loved Chattanooga Whiskey! We started with the tour. Caitlin was incredibly knowledgeable. We leaned so much about the entire process in general as well as their own special differences. Her tour was not only super informative, but also very entertaining! We ended with a tasting at the bar. The bartender who talked us through the tasting was great, too. (I hate that I didn't catch his name!) Corey! We received a tour from this wonderful man and had a great time. He was very well informed and made the tour lots of fun. At the end of the tour you'll receive a flight of whiskeys to taste that are all one of a kind. It's more enjoyable to try the whiskey's after the tour because then you have some history of Chattanooga and the company, as well as knowledge on how the whiskey is made in order to add to the experience. I highly recommend coming here and dropping by the gift shop on your way out Also! This makes for an awesome date night read more
