Have you ever considered a bite of the most unimaginably scrumptious dessert you've ever had? Well, I think you've found the spot. One minor taste test of the almond croissant and I was hooked into a contractual marriage with this bakery. It's amazing and I highly recommend coming to try some time.

Delicious pastries, lots to choose from there was a mix-up with our order being given away. They made it right and I'm grateful since the protein was needed for breakfast! The guava cream cheese and strawberry croissants were perfect.

A family member lives walking distance from the Santa Monica location. We had coffee and pastries one morning. The display of pastries in the bakery is like a museum of delightful treats! I was pleasantly pleased by the variety of goods served there. Staff was pleasant. The environment is quaint for seating both inside and outside. I'm not sure about parking because I did not have a car and my family member does not drive. A very nice and enjoyable Sunday morning of coffee and breakfast with family is just what we needed.

Got a vegan cream filled croissant which was $8. The filling was not too sweet, had a nice flakiness, and I could taste the tart of the ube cream. The staff were great and shared that real butter is used in the regular croissants. Wifi is available so I imagine this being a nice place to work from. The shop had a cute aesthetic with pink chairs and wooden furniture. Parking was available in the residential & retail lot. It was a little complicated though because the parking elevator is within the residential complex so it was a bit tough to get back in through the gate.

Wow! The vegan morning burrito was delicious. The verdict from my partner (who mostly eats meat), was that it was a lot cheesier and yummier than the regular morning burrito. I love all their options, I only wish they had the vegan cold foam at this location. Regardless, I can appreciate how large their vegan menu is (even the pastries) compared to other cafes. The seating is so lovely and varied. There's benches, couches and outdoor seating! I would not recommend for studying unless you're there to do some quick work or reading. There aren't many outlets for long laptop-use (but a great space if you don't use laptop for studying!) the customer service was awesome. Very friendly staff that made the welcoming experience!!

Absolutely obsessed with this place!! The food is so darn good. Their pastries are unmatched. This place just knows how to do it. Their breakfast is incredible, you'll never leave there feeling gross. Their breakfast healthy burrito and egg and cheese croissant are to die for. You just don't want it to be over when it is. Everyone is really nice there, the location is cozy and they have great WiFi and tables if you need to work out of there real quick. I'm so happy this place is here!

The vegan selection is vast! I love the classic plain vegan croissant but also love a variety of the selection. The staff is very kind and offers great knowledge about the pastry. The aesthetic of the store is welcoming, cute and calm. Come check this out!

I really pike their food, the do have a good vegan options, place it's really pretty, the food is delicious, good flavors, the staff is very helpful and nice but I have to say that the day we went it was a Tuesday at noon at the place was a little dirty, they have like 5 tables full of dirty dishes, they were just 2 guys making coffee, serving, and getting orders and also apparently cleaning. Also their drinks were not so great honestly, everything tastes very simple or the opposite super sweet.

Great selection of vegan treats and stand out breakfast sandwich. The coffees are also tasty and staff is very friendly. Big fan of earl grey croissants!

VEGAN REVIEW What an AMAZING French bakery, where about half (a little less) of the pastry case is vegan. An awesome selection of sweet & savory. I've brought my snooty onmi friends who agree the vegan options are top notch-- some have even said the vegan almond croissant is better than the one made with dairy! There is also a vegan food menu with great omelets, salads & bowls. Tasty bevs, as well. Friendly service. Very chill vibe space, outdoor space for those with dogs. Street parking is not bad! Bike parking also available.

This little gem is perfect for a coffee date or an afternoon break from work. Fresh pastries and friendly service. If you are looking for a quiet ambiance to do work, this is the perfect spot.

Wonderful service and people work here! My friend ordered bacon not knowing it was beef bacon and they received it back and credited her. It was very salty and altho delicious she thought it would be regular bacon. It was more like shredded pastrami but very salty. Thank you for taking her of us. My avocado toast was delicious as usual. Always a nice place to hang out. Love the mellow vibe here.

Food: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Price to experience ratio: 6/10 Hello World! I stumbled across this class gem of a bakery as I painstakingly walked from one SMC campus to another. I was both shocked and delighted to come across Chaumont, which sits under Millenium apartment complex. As I walked in, I was greeted by pink walls, green plants, and en elegant display case. Overwhelmed by all the options, I settled on Vegan Shakshuka for $21 including tip. I was excited about this! What really created some cognitive dissonance for me, was ordering a side of avocado that came out to $3.87 with tax. This felt a bit outrageous to me and made it hard to sit peacefully and wait for my food. It would be cool if they implemented an smc student discount! After some time, the food came and I was in awe of its beauty. The side of bread next to the shakshouka looked decadent. The tomato and onion filling was decadent with the fresh fennel and mint. The vegan eggs were flavorless! If I could've gotten a cheaper version of this, without the egg, I'd make this meal a daily ritual. I marinated the bread in the shakshouka skillet for a lovely effect, as the breads' crust was hard. Also I really could've done with two pieces of toast, that would've put me over the moon for the price I paid. After convincing myself that money is fake and I deserve good things, I bought myself a pistachio and rose water pastry and I was not disappointed by the experience. The lady who helped me pick out the pastry was cool. I hope they pay their employees well outside of their tips, with the prices they're charging. The pastry was flaky and moist, a beautiful ending to my time here. I really appreciated the ample pillows in the seating area. Chaumont, if you're interested in catering to lower tax brackets, I recommend adding combo meals such as pastry and drink or drink, and entree to ease the anxiety of people just tryna get their basic needs met while eating good food.

Pros: + Good service + Clean place + Lots of vegetarian and vegan options + The Thai Fried Chicken was delicious and balanced! + Food presentation was excellent Cons: - Food was dry. - The Endive Cups were dense and needed some sauce. - The Mung Bean Croquette - although not bad - felt more like a fast food item; it too was dry and although the sauce and presentation were nice, it's not something to re-order. - The Meang Kham wasn't bad either, I appreciated the different flavors but for the price - as an appetizer - no. - The biggest negative were the prices. They were set as upscale, and fine dining, but the place was just average and the foods - at least what we ordered - not that good. Granted there were many options and the others might have been better, but I get the feeling this place is more about the food presentation rather than the quality of the food focused. For ~$100 (3 appetizers and 1 main entree) I left somewhat hungry. I feel there are hole-in-the wall vegan/vegetarian places that would be much better. It's a nice place but it's more show than substance (given the costs). 3.5/5

While I am not at all vegan, it can be a fantastic change of pace when trying a cuisine that is not at all my regular routine. Happily, Variable has tons of choices, and we loved what we got. I was drawn towards the 'N Seoul Bowl' (Korean spicy plant based pork, house marinated Kimchi, organic edamame, steamed organic spinach, carrot, steamed broccoli, onion , organic shiitake, topped with green onion and sesame seeds and side organic quinoa). So good, a bit spicy, and so many flavors on the plate it was impossible to not only love it, but I could not finish it, either. That goes from all their dishes. They are big, and in our experience, it came out piping hot soon after ordering it. My companion tried the 'Indian Tikka Masala' (homemade Indian curry, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, yellow squash, potatoes, cabbage, chickpea, micro green, Served with blend wild Jasmin rice and Indian Flat Bread). Tastes so fresh, hearty, with just enough of a kick to it. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes, too. The burger that the table near us ordered looked fantastic. I gotta think that everything here is pretty dang great.
